My dear Mum has been a resident of Saxonwood for approx 5 years. I can honestly say my Mum has been well cared for and enjoys her late life and years in a safe, friendly and most caring home. The staff are extremely busy but do all they can to provide excellent care.
My life is peace of mind and I'm able to travel and enjoy my 70's knowing Mum is happy.

My greatest respect to management and staff.

Woodlands have cared for both my parents for nearly 3 years now and we are very happy with the care they offer.
They go above and beyond to ensure the residents are happy and cared for on a daily basis and offer a orogramme of entertainment to keep them engaged.
The freshly cooked food always looks great and Mum and Dad really enjoy it.
We are kept up to date regularly with their progress and any medical issues are dealt with promptly.

I would thoroughly recommend Woodlands.

Always happy, caring atmosphere. Mum always clean and as tidy as possible. Only negative point is the financial department at Head Office. Statements are never sent nor invoices. Caused huge problems when dealing with ESCC., and when they are sent, it is far too confusing. It has cost me over £1000 in accountants fees to sort. Hopefully after all this time we are straight!

Actually a comment on the five years that my stepfather has lived at Saxonwood, sadly dying one month short of his 95th birthday. In fact, looking at the first instance, it was March 16th five years ago it became home, and a wonderful, if not ideal, one, which he grew into, with friends and warmth, among staff and fellow residents, and good food (mealtimes always his favourite time of day), a full day of activity. He adjusted to not being at home, and became alive in a way after being at home by himself for some years. I think we can only be enormously grateful to you all and to those who strongly endorsed the choice. Heartfelt thanks.

Good solid care from friendly staff. Group activities available if you want them, good range of food with regular specials. Homely feel to the place, you're not isolated and there is always some activity going on. Staff do a good job of fancy dress on the odd occasion! Edge-of-town location at the end of a side-street means low traffic, easy access for emergency services. Good car park for visitors

Review of Oakwood Court from Peter H (Son-in-law of Resident) published on 11 March 2026 Submitted via Website

Can't praise the staff at Oakwood Court enough. When it was decided my Mother-in-Law needed some respite care after a period of illness, we were amazed how helpful efficient and quick they were to help us through the process. From paying the home an initial visit to checking in my Mother in Law was just 48 hours. The quality of the room was first class and once again have to mention how lovely the care staff were.

We brought my Mother in Law home today after a successful 2 week stay and none of us would hesitate in recommending Oakwood Court to friends, family or others.

We had a wonderful Christmas party at Oakwood. All the staff were welcoming and helpful and very caring to the residents. Recently we brought friends to visit my sister and their reaction was - they have never visited such a lovely care home as it is at Oakwood Court. One of the visitors is a retired nurse and she was overwhelmed with the comfort, cleanliness and friendliness of Oakwood and the staff. Well done all.

Having now spent one year at Oakwood Court, Mum has been very happy and appreciates all the help and support she has received from all the lovely carers. Saxonwood is an excellent home with caring, committed staff. Meals are varied and nutritious and chefs are well aware of residents' likes and dislikes. The care my friend gets is second to none. My mother has been in the care of Oakwood Court for over four years now, and they have provided excellent care throughout. They have also adapted the care to take care of her deterioration due to Alzheimer's. They have done a great job in what can sometimes be challenging circumstances, our family are very grateful knowing that our mother is in safe hands.
