My father has been in respite care at Manor House for over four weeks and I cannot praise all the staff highly enough for the care they have given him. They have also gone above and beyond in supporting myself and dad in his difficult domestic circumstances, always keeping dad's well being at the heart of everything.

Overall Experience
My very dear friend has been resident in Manor House for the past 6 months.
It has been difficult as one of the POAs making decisions on his behalf but this has shown to be the right place for him and his well being. Having had previous experience of other care homes for my parents, Manor House is exceptional.
From my first visit, to settling him in and ongoing care, the manager, deputies, seniors and all the staff including housekeepers, have all shown care, compassion, knowledge and support for his needs and me alike.
Manor House has a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Always staff around and 'hands on' senior staff including the manager.
I am kept informed of any issues however small.
The meals are excellent catering for all dietary needs.
Various activities, including visitors in and trips out.
The grounds are stunning and residents enjoy time outside.
A care home can be daunting for anyone but here, I feel like it's a new extended family for which I am very grateful.

Thankyou

The environment at Dell House is calm and it's easy to find a quiet corner to chat to relatives if you wish. There are always activities every day and the staff are caring and patient. It is spotlessly clean and well-maintained. We enjoyed visiting my mum there. My only slight negative is the food isn't always the top quality - cheap juice and biscuits for example.

First the important things: The care is first class. The speed with which doctors are called in when residents require medical attention is excellent. The communication from the management team is faultless. All the staff without exception are excellent, no more to add. The food is hospitality industry standard. The facilities with coffee bar, TV rooms, pantry, dining rooms, lounge, outside patio and cinema can't be faulted. The activities deserve a special mention with dedicated staff, mental stimulation, physical exercise and a weekly timetable are above and beyond other homes. We looked at all the other homes in the area and this was the clear winner. Now with 6 months residency for my 98-year-old mother under our belt it's exceeded our expectations. Keep up the excellent work.

Dell House is an excellent care home. The facilities are clean and highly maintained. Rooms are cleaned regularly, twice a day when needed. Laundry is promptly done, not lost and put away diligently. The care offered is considerate and responsive to each resident's needs. Carers are respectful, kind and understanding. Management respond promptly and informatively to queries, requests, etc. They are high profile and regularly seen talking to residents and their families, they join in the well-planned, fun, wide range of activities. Activities staff are inventive and interactive. The food is excellent and plentiful.

My step mum came to Dell House for a respite stay when her daily carers were away on holiday in September 2024. She had a warm welcome and settled easily. When her respite stay was completed she decided to become a permanent resident. All worked seamlessly. All the staff are helpful and nothing seems to be too much bother. Visitors are welcomed and communications are good.

Since my father took up residence at Manor house, we have been delighted by the support and kindness shown to him. It was a big move for my father but with their care and expertise they gave him the support to help him to settle into his new home. All the staff have shown him respect and encouraged him to join in the activities and the events they organise for the home. All our family feel safe in the knowledge that Dad's Care needs are respected and we will be notified promptly if they have any concerns about his well-being.

My mums one wish was to NEVER be placed into a home which as a family we thought we could always honour this. At 86 mum was diagnosed with mixed dementia. Mum became unsafe at home & dad was in hospital.
Mum was placed at Manor House first for respite.
I cannot put into words of how supportive all staff were to me & my brother at such a difficult time, we listened & followed their advise. That day we walked away in tears as if we had let our mum down.
Fast forward not only is Manor House my mums forever home but last Wednesday we were able to move dad into a room as well. Dad 91also became unsafe to be in the family home so mum & dad are reunited.
Staff no matter how busy will always make time for you, communication is outstanding.
Daily activities, outings, visitors, parties, etc give Manor House a real family feel.
Clean & tidy, meals look lovely and the cakes that are made are amazing.

Thank you Manor House for all your support to mum, dad & families.

My mum has been in this care home for 6 months now having gone in for respite care. That has now turned into a full care package. The care mum has received has been nothing short of exceptional, the staff are so kind and friendly and they always let us know what is going on which we truly appreciate. The home is clean and tidy at all times and mum is always looked after. We are able to come and go as much as we like and this leaves us assured that mum is always being looked after at all times. We feel that the staff really care about mum and this for us is priceless

When we visited the home it is a lovely clean and well maintained facility. However, I question their ability to cope with advanced/complex dementia as stated. My mum moved here from another care home to be closer to us so that we could visit her regularly. She was shortly found to be suffering from a urine infection which combined with dementia and moving to a new home meant that she was highly confused and her mobility was affected. She did demonstrate aggression to the staff which had only happened once previously in another care home during another episode of a urine infection. Mum was then admitted to hospital who confirmed the infection was no longer present. I spoke with the care home to discuss my mums situation but was advised that they were busy due to a Xmas party and they no longer wanted mum there. A few days later they called and asked me to clear out her room. This was very distressing for us just before Xmas. Be very wary as they don't deal with dementia well at all.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We are very sorry this situation was upsetting for you and your family, especially at a difficult time. Mum has been at Manor Lodge since July. She settled in very well and enjoys the activities and outings and she so often says how kind and caring the staff are. Our family feel warmly welcomed as part of the Manor family. There is lots of smiling and laughter and celebration of seasonal events. These things are important as it is mum's home and it feels like home when we are there, too. The important things are all exceptionally well done: health care, GP visits, prescriptions, medication etc. Mum has a lovely room, with her precious things and walls full of her favourite pictures. Everywhere is bright and clean and folks are often together in various locations in the building and in the summer, in the lovely gardens. The staff foster friendships and community among the residents and I find it a place full of life. Parties for families to join in as well as connections with local community, including Blofield Church. Our family could not wish for a better place for mum to be.

My Mum was admitted to Manor House in July, initially for respite care for 4 weeks to have support for medication changes. It had become evident that Mum at 91 years was not able to continue to live independently whilst keeping safe. Her mental health had deteriorated. The whole family were so relieved when Mum's placement became permanent. I could see immediately that Mum would be well looked after.
I have been so impressed with Mum's care. All the staff are so approachable and I have felt really listened to with all aspects of my Mum's care. They have helped her transition from losing her independence. Communication is outstanding. I am constantly updated regarding Mum's health and necessary medication changes.
Today she is the happiest she has been for many years.
The activity team are amazing and it is so lovely to see Mum joining in activities she would not have had the opportunity or inclination to do living on her own.

Manor House is outstanding and the perfect home.

A wonderful care home, full of staff who want the very best for their residents. Manor House gets all the essentials right and has lovely rooms, communal areas and outdoor space too. Mum has the support she needs (so she can retain as much independence as possible) and feels safe and secure. There are a wide range of activities, outings and parties, creating a warm and happy community feel. Mum has a registered disability and the staff support her to ensure that she is able to participate fully in life at Manor House.

All the staff know and respect the residents as individuals, noticing if their routine changes and taking the time and care to check in with them. They have been very supportive in helping us navigate some new health challenges for Mum too, caring not just for her but for the whole family.

A wonderful care home full of amazing caring people.

Overall Experience

Since mum has been a resident at The Moorings she has had excellent care from the manager and kind staff. Her room is very comfortable, the large window and French doors overlook the lovely garden. Everything is always very clean and tidy. The freshly cooked meals are very good and plentiful. Mum enjoys tea/coffee and biscuits served mid morning, and tea and cake mid afternoon. Whenever we are visiting we are always offered these as the staff want us to feel just as welcome as if we were in mum's own home. Nothing is too much trouble. The doctor and nurse visit The Moorings very quickly when required for a health check or medication. Mum enjoys fresh air on fine days as staff take her around the garden in the wheelchair. Movement by ball and balloon games while sitting in the lounge are fun, and mum loves to make a fuss of the 'pat dog' on her regular visits. The staff are very kind and thoughtful. Mum is happy, feels safe and well looked after which means a great deal to her family.
