Mum has been living at The Green, Dronfield for over 4 years now and I can only praise everyone involved in Mum's care. Mum is very happy here, well cared for, all her needs are met everyday, with compassion & dignity. The home and environment is spotlessly clean and safe. As a family we are extremely happy with all aspects of Mum's care, the staff are kind, caring and appear to be happy caring for the residents. Thank you

My mother has been a resident at the Green for nearly 2 years. The team are all really helpful and caring. After my dad died, my mum lived alone for a couple of years, but she became very withdrawn and depressed. Since moving to the Green, my mum has made friends (residents and carers), and her health and overall wellbeing is much improved.

Every day there are activities for residents to take part in (if they wish), from baking, crafting, shows and events even support dogs and animals which mum really enjoys. The nursing staff also take excellent care of mum and see to all her medical needs and having the district nurses and doctors visit regularly can help prevent any medical issues developing, which is also a great comfort to us. I know the staff have my mums welfare at the centre of everything they do. Ironically she never wanted to go into a care home but this has made her life so much better/happier on many levels and we know she is in safe hands.

The staff are caring and attentive and enjoy their work, they have a good relationship with the residents and it is usual to hear laughter around, which is always a good thing. They are very good at keeping you informed of any changes to the resident's health or medication etc. I would be happy to recommend The Green to anyone looking for residential or nursing care

All the staff at The Green are very kind, respectful, caring and have been taking good care of my mother. They are always willing to help and organise any additional care she may need. They have a health visitor to go weekly so if a resident needs attention they are put on the ward round. They also have a hairdresser who goes weekly and a podiatrist who goes regularly.

Mum has been living in 'The Callywhite' for some years now. I've always been extremely impressed with the care she's received. Residents are treated with the upmost care and dignity.

Staff are wonderful and always seem to work well as a team, from the welcome we receive at reception, the fantastic carers and the excellent management which ensures all run smoothly. Thank you also to those behind the scenes.

There's a good programme of activities on offer. The main areas are well kept and spotlessly keen.

I am confident that high standards of care are maintained at all times.

Mum has received excellent nursing care since coming to The Green, Hasland mid October. The home is well managed and staff are excellent - friendly and pay attention to details. I live four hours travel away so we come to stay in Derbyshire for three days every 6-8 weeks. That is hard but occasional video phone calls via Tracey have been very helpful. I am waiting for the day mum is allowed out of bed occasionally so she can socialise and participate in some of the regular activities, which residents seem to really enjoy. Thank you all.

Our Mum settled in to The Green very quickly. The staff are very caring and compassionate and made her feel at home straight away. Any 'niggles' no matter how small, are quickly and efficiently resolved by the staff.
The rooms are light and airy, and everywhere is kept very clean.
There is a choice of menu at meal times, and the food is of a high quality, nutritious and appetising.
Activities for the residents are organised by Tracey who works very hard to put on a variety of events throughout the week, these can range from pamper sessions, arts and craft sessions, quizzes, and guest entertainers to name just a few such events.

Kelly the manager is pro active ,and her 'hands on' approach goes a long way to ensure the home is well run and managed to an excellent standard.

The Green Care Home provides a level of care over time that has established total trust between us, the resident and the home. We couldn't feel more reassured that the resident is living a full-filled life considering their age.
I would go as far to say "the resident considers the Green Care Home as their home".

I would fully recommend this home for your loved one if a residential care home is your option.

I recently spent 8 weeks at the Callywhite after an operation and wish to express my heartfelt thanks for the care I received. At all times I was treated with consideration and respect whilst being actively encouraged to make relationships with the other residents and take part in the many activities. I particularly enjoyed the visiting music groups and the board games in the dining room as well as ice creams in the park.

Thank you to everyone who helped me in my early recovery. I look forward to seeing you all at the Summer Fayre.

Mum received excellent care when with the Callywhite. It was unfortunate that she wasn't particularly grateful, but they were responsive, remembered all her little foibles and preferences, continued to offer care and services even when she was aggressive or reluctant to participate, and they were always cheerful and supportive towards me. There were options to take part in activities, there was a lovely outdoor space on the roof which was safe and easy to access, and the room was lovely with great views and high levels of comfort.

We were very impressed by the staff who were very friendly and helpful. The food was so very much better than the meals that the hospital had been serving for the previous two months.
The accommodation was excellent- the room had plenty of space. We were impressed by the external services, the chiropodist and the hair dresser were an added bonus!

Thank you so much for helping out for the three week respite. - it really made a difference

Unfortunately my dad's stay was a short one as he moved there on end of life care. From the very first moment we walked in I knew my dad was going to be extremely happy and at home there as it was like one big happy family. The staff go above and beyond everyday they showed my dad so much love, care and support in his final months and was also his safe space when everything got too much for him. I'm honestly in awe of every single member of team at the green Dronfield as they treat every person as an individual they always have time for a chat or just to pop in and make sure everything is ok. Not only did every member of staff make sure that my dad kept onto his dignity to the end they treated him with respect and compassion and made sure that his final home was full of warmth and laughter and love. The support we received as a family was amazing nothing was too much trouble everyone spoke everyday we visited and we were greeted with a warm welcome.

My dad came to live at The Green in February of this year, after leaving hospital on end of life. When he arrived he was very poorly. Over the weeks that he has been there he has really improved. The Green is a lovely, friendly place to visit, we like to see dad as much as is possible. There are daily activities like keep fit, armchair sports which dad loves. Dad loves music and sing songs are a weekly thing. Music is very important to dad it help calm him and make him happier. Tracey regularly puts his favourite rock and roll on for him. The staff are really approachable and deal with any questions that I have about dad. The Manager is always on hand if I want to discuss dad. Overall it really is a pleasure to visit and is peace of mind for me that dad is being cared for so well.

My husband was a resident in the Callywhite for five and a half years until his death in March 2026. He went there during COVID.
Throughout this time I cannot express how wonderfully he was cared for. The beautiful immaculately clean rooms, the lovely meals, the amount of care and attention put into the activities to the wonderful care staff. Everyone has always gone the extra step to make his life as fulfilled and comfortable as was possible.
If there were any concerns senior management were always available.

Our family will be eternally grateful

Overall Experience

The Callywhite is an excellent care home which benefits from being designed for dementia patients.so that it is a safe environment for residents at all times. I had good experience of another home where my mother- in- law was resident for her final years so I had no hesitation in trusting The Callywhite to care for my wife'when due to her dementia she needed the care that I was no longer able to provide. I wish to praise all staff who are so cheerful, kind and welcoming and this is across the spectrum from the manager and administrator to all the carers. I never cease to be impressed with the love and care they provide to all residents and the endless patience that doing so requires. I know my wife is safe and well cared for and I could ask for no more.
