Our mum has been in Skylarks for 16 months - we can't thank the staff and management enough. She has settled in so well and believes she is in her house with a lot of visitors. The staff are so kind and attentive to her needs, they now know her personality and how to divert any issues she may have.
Yesterday
I witnessed Alina being so kind to her - Alina is such a great credit to the team!. A new member of staff, Lucy looked after her so well/ she was so kind and attentive that leaving her when it was time to go was so much easier. Mum thinks she has known Lucy for years!
The care home provide so many different activities for the residents - We couldn't , as a family wish for anywhere better for our mum. Thank you so much x

I visit my friend on a regular basis he is almost 95 and is living with Alzheimers.
He moved to Wren Hall after spending time in hospital and needed continuing care.
Wren Hall was my first choice for him, thankfully a room soon became available.
My friend couldn't continue living at home even with
care in place. I have full confidence in the team to manage his needs, he is treated with respect and It's reassuring to know he is clean, and has plenty to eat and drink,
snacks and treats are offered at regular intervals . My friend isn't mixing well but does join in activities if encouraged, from what I've witnessed no one is left out. In fine weather residents can access the amazing gardens, sometimes there is entertainment outdoors, being there on a regular basis I have enjoyed many musicians entertaining the residents, there are also animals brought in, giving residents the chance to hold creatures such as snakes!! I believe Wren Hall has given him some life back...

When we were first shown around Church Farm in March 2026 we were struck instantly by the friendly team , everyone spoke, made us feel welcome and were extremely friendly and smiled.
We knew this was the right choice for my uncle to move to.
He is very settled after being there eight weeks, has a
room that we have made his own with all his personal belongings and he takes part in activities provided.
We know he is well looked after from the care he receives, the regular meals and constant feedback with any concerns from the nursing team.
We are very happy that he is being well looked after by a caring team

My mother has been a resident of Field House for the past 16 months. The major strength of this home are the staff who show kindness, compassion and outstanding care on a daily basis. My mother is treated with dignity and is always shown respect by all who care for her. It is very difficult leaving
a vulnerable person in the care of others but I am 100% confident that Field House is the best place my mother could be in.

My mum, who is 87 and living with Alzheimer's, moved into Wren Hall full time in January 2026 after previously attendingma Day Centre. She arrived with several health challenges and some understandably difficult behaviours as she adjusted to a new environment. From the very beginning, the team at Wren
Hall made her feel welcome, safe, and valued.
She has already made friends there, which has been lovely to see. The caring staff, catering team, and registered nurses treat her with genuine respect-exactly how they would want their own family members to be treated. Their patience, kindness, and professionalism have made a huge difference to her wellbeing.
The facilities at Wren Hall are excellent, but the gardens deserve a special mention. They are beautifully maintained, peaceful, and one of my mum's favourite places to relax. She also enjoys taking part in visits outside the home whenever possible. Which enhances her quality of life.
Reply from Natalie Coles, People & Culture Coordinator at Wren Hall Nursing HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and heartfelt review about your mum's journey with us at Wren Hall. It has been a privilege to support your mum since joining us full time in January 2026, especially as she was already a valued member of our Christine Bates Day Centre family. We understand how emotional and challenging the transition into full-time care can be for both individuals and their loved ones, so it means a great deal to hear that she has felt welcomed, safe, and valued from the very beginning. At Wren Hall, we are committed to continuous improvement and always welcome feedback from our families. As part of our ongoing aim to achieve 5-star excellence across all areas, we would love to know if there is anything further you feel could enhance your mum's experience or improve the service we provide to gain 5-stars for facilities, rooms and value for money. Thank you for your trust, support and lovely words. They mean so much to Team Wren Hall.

My mum has been in Church Farm Cotgrave since early March, and I cannot believe the difference in her.
She moved from another care home who couldn't meet her needs. Since being at Cotgrave, she is less aggressive, showers regularly and always looks well cared for (not the greasy hair she had before).
The staff are amazing with her and obviously very experienced with dementia patients. Would thoroughly recommend!

The care given by the staff at Church Farm at Field House has been excellent. My Mum came into the home mid December 2025 and the staff have enabled Mum to settle into the home incredibly well. The care is considered, compassionate, respectful and inclusive. The management are very responsive to requests.
I cannot speak highly enough of both management and care givers. The home is also very supportive of all of Mum's family. I would not hesitate to recommend Church Farm at Field House to others.

Field House is a very welcoming environment. The care team are remarkable for their warmth and hard work. Visitors are treated respectfully, and concerns are listened to and acted upon. If problems arise, as they will in an imperfect world, the team will work with residents and their families to come
up with solutions in a friendly and cooperative way. All residents are looked after with care and treated with dignity and tact. The patience and dedication of the care staff is remarkable and is significantly better than in many other homes I have visited. I think this stems from good management. The manager, nursing staff, care workers and administrators are all very approachable. As a relative or friend visiting the home regularly, I am made to feel like "part of the family". I have a huge respect for the hard and often demanding work done at Field House, where there is clearly a desire to do the very best for all the residents, no matter what difficulties they face.

After a difficult time at another home, moving my nan to Church Farm Cotgrave was a welcome relief.
Maggie and her team have been compassionate, responsive and respectful throughout. They acted quickly to support nan's admission and treated both her and our family with genuine kindness.
Although
she was only with them for a short time, the differences in care and atmosphere were clear from the start. Nan was spoken to gently, supported with patience, encouraged to eat & drink, and treated gently and with dignity. She even said to us herself that she might stay there (high praise indeed).
Our family were kept informed and supported with sensitivity when she passed. Knowing her final hours were spent somewhere calm, respectful and compassionate, with people that really saw her, and genuinely cared for her, gives us great comfort whilst we grieve her loss.
We only wish she had been able to spend longer here. Thank you Church Farm for the happy memories at the end of a hard journey.

The staff at Church Farm are all brilliant and offer the best standard of care to our family. It's always a friendly and welcoming place to visit and I really believe they're one of the best care homes around. The staff go above and beyond to not just offer the best care for the residents but also to
support and offer advice to their wider family. I feel reassured that my parent is in the best possible place to help them and me through the challenges of dementia. Having experienced a below-par care home previously, we're very grateful to have found Church Farm. 5 stars all round!

As a friend and P.O.A. for Joan, I cannot praise Wren Hall highly enough. The staff are amazing, so friendly, kind, considerate and patient. They treat everyone with care and respect even when situations get difficult. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff.
The home is kept immaculately
clean, and the food that I have had has been fabulous.
Each and every resident is encouraged to take part in the many activities that are offered. The garden is amazing with ample seating for when the weather is suitable. The garden is also used for summer events which are wonderful to attend, with so much thought going into them. A lot of activities are worked around the calendar, such as Valentine's day, Easter, Halloween, Christmas etc.
Wren Hall is such a homely friendly place to be.
Reply from Natalie Coles, People & Culture Coordinator at Wren Hall Nursing HomeThank you so much for your incredibly kind and thoughtful words. It truly means a great deal to all of us at Wren Hall to receive such heartfelt feedback. We are especially grateful for your support as Joan's friend and Power of Attorney. It's wonderful to hear that you feel she is treated with the care, respect and patience she deserves. Our team works hard to create a warm, homely environment where every Family Member (Resident) feels valued, and your recognition of their kindness and dedication will mean so much to them.
We're also delighted that you've enjoyed the food, activities and time spent in our garden. We love making the most of seasonal events and special occasions throughout the year, and it's lovely to know that the thought and effort put into these moments is appreciated.
Thank you again for your trust, encouragement and for being such an important part of our community.

My wife was in Skylarks from 2023 to 2026.
Skylarks has always showed a positive cheerful engaging attitude from the day when we first visited it to see if the Home would be suitable for my wife.
We had nothing but kindness and empathy from the staff and they enjoyed looking after my wife and me as
well when I visited my wife every day.
Some of the residents could be challenging as would be expected in an environment where they all have dementia but I was amazed how the staff handled issues calmly, sympathetically and cheerfully.
The food was always plentiful and enjoyable and the catering staff were always willing to accept comments about the food, good or bad and make changes.
The non-caring staff such as managers, cleaners, laundry staff and maintenance staff always made time to talk when I needed.
The staff were helpful and gave me the opportunity to be part of the caring for my wife and they showed kindness towards me as my wife's life ended.
Reply from Helen Beacher, Home Manager at Church Farm at SkylarksThank you for your feedback which has been shared with the whole team. It was our privilege to support both your wife and you during your time with us. We looked forward to your visits as much as we hope you looked forward to coming. I can say with confidence that you both are sadly missed and very fondly remembered within the whole team. We appreciate you sharing your experience of Skylarks. It can be difficult to make decisions around long-term care, and first hand experiences from those who have visited almost every day for a sustained period, we hope, gives confidence to others trying to make those choices, and provides a balanced insight into our ethos. You remain very much part of our family. Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of your journey.

My sister was at Skylarks WB she was treated very badly. She had 2 bad chest infections in bed most of the time with bed sores & asleep most of the time. 1 of the staff & her friends had it in for my sister regarding a certain non-resident coming in regularly for meals. We didn't mind it he always had
his meal first & plenty of it. We felt sorry for the residents waiting for their meals. On my sister's birthday 2 of his friends came in demanding cake first before my sister. I thought it was a very cruel thing to do They made her wait till last for her food when it was cold. Also make her wait until last for ice lollies, while some staff were eating theirs. Not taken to the toilet regularly. Also she was taken away from her friends because there was no hoist in that room. Bearing in mind she could not walk or talk. Some of the residents used to stroke her hair, my sister loved it. But what hurts most how heartless the management could be. Not asking how she was, no condolences, nothing.
Reply from Helen Beacher, Home Manager at Church Farm at SkylarksWe recognise individuals are entitled to share their own perceptions, particularly at times of grief and loss. However, we do not recognise the account described in this review, and it does not align with our records or the care provided. The family member sadly passed following a natural and expected deterioration, which had been identified and discussed by healthcare professionals. We understand that the reviewer found this medical feedback difficult to accept. During their loved one's extended stay with us, the reviewer repeatedly spoke very positively about the care provided and praised the service to external professionals, expressing gratitude that we were able to support their loved one. This review represents a significant change from those views and appears to come from a place of grief and the loss of daily purpose following bereavement, rather than genuine reflection of the standard of care delivered. Condolences and support were offered and accepted from management.

and as such provide care and support to amazing standards. I am also impressed with the cleanliness of the home which I'm sure can be a difficult job with all the spills and accidents. Communication with family members with regular relatives meetings is also helpful.
