Overall Experience

Fernbank is much more than a home. It was like a secondhome for my mum during her respite.
From the moment you walk in the management and all staff are very kind, caring and friendly.
Mum would always say that every meal was absolutely delicious and tasty!
Mum made friends with other residents and

joined in with the activities!
I would highly recommend this home. I know Mum will want to visit staff and residents when she visits us.

This home provided outstanding respite care for our mother, and we couldn't be more thankful. From the moment she arrived, she was treated with kindness, respect, and compassion. The staff went above and beyond to ensure she was comfortable, safe, and well cared for, and their professionalism was matched

by genuine warmth. Our mother always commented on how good the food was! and how everyone was so friendly and kind to her. Knowing she was in such capable and caring hands gave our family real peace of mind. I would highly recommend this home to anyone seeking quality care for a loved one.

Overall Experience

My husband's grandad seems to really like it here, a true home away from home. He looks forward to meals and says the food is really good.
All the staff are not only very friendly and attentive, but seem genuinely happy and enjoy their job.
The home feels welcoming and is always warm and clean.
When

visiting we're always offered a cup of tea. Such friendly attentive staff.
I'd highly recommend for your friend or relative.

This is a fantastic home my grandad realy enjoys it here, The place is very clean tidy and organised, His room is always lovely, warm and clean with staff passing by regularly to see if he needs anything, The food here looks fantastic he always looks forward to meal times if there is something he doesn't

Overall Experience

I would highly recommend Fernbank Care home, the care is outstanding. The staff are so caring and attentive to Mum (and us as a family). The home offers fantastic meal options which Mum loves, it's clean, they have days out, daily activities which are all fun keeping Mum entertained and the safety of

the home is exemplary.

The home offers lovely gardens which is perfect as Mum likes to sit out reading her paper in the summer months, chef brings her ice lollies, fresh drinks and staff are attentive applying suncream.. it's these things that makes Fernbank stand out with their care. Mum is so settled which is so reassuring for myself and my sister knowing our Mum is happy, safe and enjoying her days.

We cannot recommend Fernbank enough, we really are so grateful for all the love and care you give her. Outstanding all round.

Overall Experience

Since my Mother moved into Arnside Lodge six months ago I have been constantly impressed with the care she has been receiving. All the staff, without exception, are a credit to Arnside Lodge and they can't do enough for my Mother who suffers with Dementia.

My Wife and I visit Mother at least twice

a week and the staff are so friendly and happy to chat about my Mother and provide updates and genuinely care for her. It's nice that you can see into the kitchen when you pass by, and the food is of an excellent standard. The place is spotlessly clean and tidy and has a homely feel about it.

We were unsure that Mother might not settle there with it being unfamiliar surroundings, but we needn't have worried, she settled in no problem.

Well done to Jan and all the team.

My Mum went to this home initially on a short term basis, however she liked it enough to stay longer. The staff and Management have been very open with myself and Mum and she feels listened to and understood.

Overall Experience

My mum has been living at Fernbank since January and I honestly couldn't recommend it highly enough. She has Alzheimer's and has really settled here, which means so much to us as a family. The staff are absolutely fabulous - not only with Mum, but also with my sister, myself and the whole family. They

are warm, caring and genuinely lovely people, and their support has made such a difference.
Being a small care home gives it such a homely, welcoming feel, and you can tell how much each resident is valued as an individual. We feel so reassured knowing Mum is safe, well cared for and surrounded by kindness.
We would like to express our massive thanks and deepest appreciation to everyone at Fernbank - you have given us peace of mind and Mum a real home. Xxx

Overall Experience

Since my mum moved into Arnside Lodge in July 2025, the staff couldn't have been more helpful.
My mum had come from hospital after having a major fall and it was quite a stressful and frightening time for her, the staff looked after her and made my mum feel welcome. They even looked after me as I

was finding it hard to leave my mum and was quite tearful.
The whole team at Arnside Lodge are amazing, they have made my mum feel so welcome and at home and can't do enough for her (they even provided her favourite breakfast so she felt at home). If I'm not available to come and visit I can ring up any of the team and get a full update on my mum day or night. The home has a wonderful homely feel and nothing is too much trouble for them.

Overall Experience

My sister is now living in Fernbank Lodge Care Home and is receiving the very best care from management and staff, who are always welcoming and pleasant. I can visit anytime, which is very helpful and says a great deal about the caring nature of everyone at the home. I visted yesterday and there was

entertainment (a man with a guitar), and everyone was having a sing-song, which was lovely to see. The environment at the lodge make it feels like a home to its guests, and not just place of residence, which is wonderful. Please take a took, trust me, you won't be disappointed.

I visited my sister for the first time she had just moved in. The staff I met were very friendly and helpful. I then phoned to speak to my sister and was able to phone her on her own phone, which the staff facilitated.

My mother-in-law is a resident at Fernbank Care home after being relocated from two other care homes through no fault of her own. The attention and care she receives is second to none. Overall Experience

Recently my father's cousin has taken up residential care at Fernbank. My father no longer drives. Therefore have taken him to visit on three occasions. The experience put us completely at ease and I certainly felt immediately comfortable with Fernbank. Notably despite her condition was perfectly relaxed

and cheerful. The staff are very nice and helpful with no problems accommodating our impromptu visits. The experience felt right and left both myself and dad feeling that she is very well looked after. Thank you all at Fernbank.

Overall Experience

My mother was originally in Fernbank for recuperation after an accident. She settled very quickly and has been looked after very well. When it became apparent that she wouldn't be able to go home, it was a great comfort to know she was in such a caring, professionally run home. The meals are excellent

and very nutritious. The staff are willing to accompany her to appointments and make sure her medical needs are met.
