From the moment you walk in, you're made to feel completely welcome, including Polly the dog-everyone loves her visits.
The staff are lovely and friendly, always making us feel so welcome during our weekly visits to see Grandma. Grandma has settled into her new home really well and seems comfortable,
content, and safe.
The staff are always happy to help with any issues and truly go above and beyond to make Grandma feel comfortable. There's such a warm, caring atmosphere throughout the home, from the staff right through to the residents.

My mum has recently gone into this home, and "home" is what it is. We were always concerned about her being happy and looked after well. We needn't have worried. The home is set in a lovely garden with mature trees, making it a tranquil haven for residents. The staff are very friendly, yet
professional and the home is beautifully kept.
Mum has settled in really well and is enjoying chatting to the other residents, who are able to, and to the staff. She says the food is very good, and the care she's receiving excellent. She was thrilled to have her nails painted by one of the staff, too.
Well done to the team of Oldfield Manor, you really go the extra mile in taking care of and making the residents happy. We appreciate you.

The staff at Thorncliffe are wonderful and have really helped my dad settle in to the home.
He has done more activities that I have not seen him be able to do in a long time, like cooking buscuits.

When I was becoming increasingly fraught as the sole carer of my husband who has Lewy Body Dementia, Thorncliffe was a life saver! They were so supportive, understanding and accommodating. My husband immediately felt at home and thought the staff were lovely.
I found that they listened and were very
flexible in providing me with respite so that I could continue to care for him at home for as long as possible. He now has another home and family.

I visit Oldfield Manor to visit my Mother.She is looked after very well there.The staff are always very helpful and friendly.There are activities for the residents to participate in,and entertainment every so often.They commincate by phone if there are any concerns regarding my mother.

I have confidence that the home is able to give my mother the best care possible. The staff always treat her with respect & dignity. They take her needs into concideration. There is a welcoming family atmosphere among the staff + residents. I have peace of mind that any concerns regarding mums care

All staff are kind , friendly and work so hard to keep the residents happy . My mother was very happy living there and was cared for excellently, she did want want for nothing . Good food , nice room , bathed regularly , , nice out side seating area , laundry done , mobile hairdresser and chiropodist
visited regularly , concerts and events organised regularly, would not think of my mother living anyware but thorncliffe x

The home feels more like a hotel. Friendly staff who are attentive to the residents needs and wishes. The homes greatest asset is the 'entertainment manager'. The activities really make a difference to the residents. Senior staff have a good knowledge of both the residents and requirements.
I'm sure
that once the new extension is finished the overall experience will be excellent.

My grandma and grandad are living residents at Thorncliffe and the care they have received is exceptional I wouldn't of had them anywhere else the staff are polite friendly and very observant to each an every residents needs excellent care home and excellent staff

Thorncliffe Care Home: Outstanding Care with Heart and Professionalism


Choosing a care home for a loved one is never easy, but from the moment we found Thorncliffe Care Home, we knew we had made the right choice for our mum. The care, compassion, and professionalism shown by everyone-led by the wonderful

manager, has been nothing short of exceptional.


She sets the tone for the whole home. Her leadership is calm, caring, and incredibly hands-on. You can tell that the staff respect her deeply, and that she genuinely cares about every resident and their family. She always takes time to speak with us, answer any questions, and make sure everything is running smoothly. It's clear that Thorncliffe isn't just her workplace-it's her passion.


Under her guidance, the entire team provides person-centred care that is second to none. Mum isn't just looked after-she is truly cared for. Her individual needs, preferences, and routines are all respected, and the team go above and beyond.

Thorncliffe is a wonderful care home. The carers and all other members of the staff are amazing and the care is simply first-class.
Mum was a resident at Thorncliffe for 3 years. Mum was loved and cared for from day one right up to and including her end-of-life care earlier this year. The compassion
shown to us as a family during this difficult time was second to none.
Mum was showered with love and the carers catered professionally for all of Mum's needs as her Alzheimers progressed. They ensured Mum was happy, comfortable, clean, well-fed, entertained and safe at all times.
Thorncliffe is a very special place. All of the staff are like a "family" and as such treat their residents, visitors and all members of staff like their extended family. You can feel the warmth as soon as you enter the care home.
I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for looking after and caring for my mum. She really could not have been in a better place. This is an outstanding care home.
