Review of The Conkers from Elaine E (Mother of Resident) published on 28 April 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My Son resides at Conkers at Hollybank Trust. He has lived there for 14 years now and I can't praise this place enough!
On Mother's Day the wonderful caring staff organised an event for families of the residents. It was wonderful and they looked after us so well and spoiled us too with afternoon tea, flower arranging, bingo and music.

Such a caring thing to do. They are all brilliant!!!

Review of Rowan Court from David D (Father of Resident) published on 14 August 2024 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Following the unfortunate flooding of Rowan Court last year, it has now been completely refurbished with extra money spent to provide excellent facilities. The new manager has worked tirelessly to ensure these ends. Moreover, he communicates extremely well with us as parents, demonstrates great determination to achieve the best for all residents. He listens and acts upon every issue which we raise. He is keen to ensure that all residents have a wide variety of experiences and activities. Our son has always been well cared for and all staff are very professional and caring. We feel that he is loved at Rowan Court and has never been happier. We thoroughly recommend Rowan Court.

Review of Rowan Court from Janis D (Mother of Resident) published on 14 August 2024 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

This review is based on the time that the new manager has been in post at Rowan Court Holmfirth. My daughter is a resident at Rowan Court. The operation of the home has improved significantly since the new manager started there. The quality of care is consistent, I check daily and the ratio of trained staff to residents is sufficient to provide the necessary complex care for the residents. Since the activities coordinator has been in post a selection of enrichment activities is being offered, giving residents variety and stimulation. This makes for a great quality of life for the residents and a professional, well-led and happy environment for the staff to work in. I am conscious that this is work in progress and all are working hard to keep this status quo. As a parent I am delighted by the way Rowan Court is operating right now and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking at a residential facility for a loved one.

Review of The Conkers from Karen T (Mother of Resident) published on 5 August 2024 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My daughter is 31 and has lived in this amazing home for 11 years. She has fantastic care and a wonderful quality of life. Staff are professional and well trained. I am fully involved and my daughter has so many opportunities for enrichment activities that give her joy and variety. I have a great relationship with staff and management. This is a centre of excellence and your family member will be safe and happy here. There is provision for Physio, Occupational Therapy and SALT onsite plus a hydrotherapy pool.

Review of Holly Court from K P (Mother of Resident) published on 5 October 2022 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Hollybank Trust is letting its service users down. There are serious safeguarding concerns, staff falling asleep on the job. The Adult respite service has let the adults and their families down and now they are closing the service and leaving vulnerable adults with no care. They are now going to focus on children's respite. Please be very careful when considering Hollybank Trust. What was once a good provider is no longer.

Reply from Anna O'Mahony, Chief Executive at Holly Court

Hollybank takes all safeguarding concerns very seriously. This incident was reported immediately and is under investigation.

The decision to stop the provision of adult respite was not taken lightly. Unfortunately, the service was not sustainable in the current climate. We are very sorry for the negative impact this has had on the people who accessed this service and their families.
