Another good year at Staveley for my daughter. She's happy and settled and feels really at home here. Staff are lovely and bring out the best in her. She is amongst friends . We can't thank you all enough.

Dad arrived at Brookfield at the end of July. The care, attention and support he has received from everyone at Brookfield has been exceptional. The place itself has a lovely welcoming feel, very relaxed with caring, friendly and professional staff. The facilities are excellent, very clean and safe. Everyone has made Dad feel welcome, all getting to know him to help him settle in. We cant thank you enough knowing he is in such a lovely place receiving 24/7 care. Thank you

My father was admitted to Brookfield Residential Home in June 2026 in an assessment bed. My first impressions of the home itself were that it was very clean well set out and that food choices and the quality of the food was very good. The staff are friendly and attentive and helped my Dad settle in as he was a little confused at first, they even rearranged his room to his preferences which showed they listened. As time has moved on it's become apparent that Dad will become a permanent resident at the home and whilst going through this process every member of staff that I've spoken too at all levels have been open, honest, clear and understanding. I obviously had choices to consider other homes in the area but given the above I haven't even looked, I'm really comfortable that he's in Brookfield he will he really well cared for and looked after.

I spend hours with my partner at Currergate every day, I witness the staff day and night with my partner and hear them with other residents, they treat everyone with kindness and care , fun and laughter. Like my partner, many of the residents appear to have complex needs, the compassion and friendliness shown from the staff in sometimes difficult circumstances has been exceptional. The staff have ensured Currergate is a safe and caring environment, one where the staff are more than happy to listen to residents and their families to ensure individual needs are met in a relaxed environment for the residents, even though its busy for the staff. I could never have imagined a Nursing home could have cared for my partner better than I could at home, but the staff , and I mean all the staff, at Currergate , and facilities ensures this is the luxury supermarket of Nursing homes ! My partner's life is enhanced by their company , their care and Nursing.

When looking for a nursing home we found it very difficult to find the right one knowing we were placing my sister into the care of others. We then found Staveley Birkleas. My sister was extremely happy with the care and support of the nursing home. She went on outings. She did craft work, which she thoroughly enjoyed but more importantly she built friendships with the residents and staff. We never had to worry about the transport my sister needed as it was always booked through the home and a member of staff was always with her. My sister was very happy with the food with a choice of 3 meals a day. We could also have our meals prepared if we needed to sit with her at meal times. The food was amazing. Care and support was outstanding from the management team, nursing team and the domestic team. The person in charge of the entertainment was also fantastic, organising board games through to trips to the coast etc. My sister died peacefully surrounding by the team at Birkleas.

I have found that senior management play a big part in the reasons l am happy with her care

My sister was in Currergate for 3 years. I live in Oxfordshire so was unable to visit her frequently but had peace of mind that my sister was receiving the best of care. She was looked after with kindness and dignity until her death in October.

I have lived at Staveley for 10 years I love living here and recently had the opportunity to go to Edinburgh to see the military tattoo this trip has been on my "wish list" for a long time. I had the best weekend and can't thank the staff enough who gave up there time to take me and some of the other residents that I live with. I am already planning my trip in 2026 to go on a cruise where the staff in the home will support me to full fill another of my dreams

I am so pleased my friend's daughter found this home. It is an excellent match for her, and she is looked after so well. It's a beautiful property, well arranged, and the staff are all attentive and warm and pleasant. And the activities are just excellent and give the residents so much fun - she may be unable to remember going out dancing the night before, but she doesn't forget the happiness and fun. It's a lovely community. She feels happy and safe.

My daughter has lived at Staveley Birkleas for almost a year. I am really pleased with the care that she receives. All staff, (carers, cooks, cleaners, managers, ancillary staff, even the maintenance man) have taken the time to get to know her as an individual. They are her friends and they have built fun and loving relationships with her. She is treated with respect and dignity at all times. Her days are tailored to her own personal needs and interests. Our family are encouraged to be involved in her care plan, and any niggles that crop up are always quickly sorted out. We always feel welcome and listened to.

My mum has been at Brookfield since June and has settled in well,because of the care and attention she has received. Brookfield has a homely feel and nothing is too much trouble. Staff pop in often with a smile and a kind word and all requests are delt with promptly. I think that even her health has improved since she is at Brookfield . When weather is suitable she is even taken out for a breath of fresh air.I am most grateful for the care my frail mum is receiving.

My mother came for a 3 week stay. She had a nice room and said staff were friendly and caring . Staff were always welcoming and friendly when I or my sisters visited . The room was clean and spacious .

Brookfield is a special place, with special staff who really care for their special residents.

I am only rating activities a little lower as my Auntie is unable to access many of them at the moment and the time we visit and with her being in her room we do not see them

I have been very impressed by the levels of kindness and professionalism at Brookfield. My parents feel safe and well looked after. Whenever I communicate with the management they are always helpful and responsive.

My mother was in Brookfield Residential Care Home for 7 years after my father's death. The care was excellent throughout, and I cannot fault it. The family are at long distance, and my mother's stay also covered the time of the pandemic. I never had any worries about my mother being cared for at long distance. Very caring staff. End of life care was compassionate and careful. An excellent care home, which I would recommend.

My mother has been at Brookfield Residential Care Home since 2017. She has had excellent care on all levels. She was a difficult lady to please but even she was full of praise for the staff! We had complete confidence in the care and professionalism at Brookfield and are deeply grateful. Mum died peacefully on the 19th September, of "frailty of old age". She was in safe hands and had the best care possible.
