I found the Kendale Hall an excellent experience in a trying time; given my mum was getting into advanced dementia. The staff were oh so positive, friendly and knowledgeable; making time for myself (and my sister when she was visiting from Australia), giving us as much time as we needed to make sense of what was happening. Highly recommended.

I would definitely recommend this nursing home.

I was recently a resident for six to eight weeks following a leg amputation. I was very impressed with the attitude of all the staff and willingness to help, the food was excellent and plentiful. The medical care was also of a very high standard. Overall staff were courteous and pleasant at all times.

Staff were very kind to Mum and very supportive to me. They went out of their way to help me sort things out for Mum. The environment was very clean, but comfortable and not overly clinical. I highly recommend the care and attention given.

Mum has Alzheimer's and vascular dementia and is cared for by my 84 year old father, who recently fell and then had a stroke. Mum was admitted for emergency respite care which ended up being for 5 weeks. All staff were polite, kind, caring and treated Mum with the utmost respect and humour. Also very supportive of us as a family. Excellent care!

My experience has been nothing but positive. All staff very helpful and pleasant, caring, nothing too much trouble.

Although mum was only at Castle Lodge for 8 weeks she had a really happy time, with several trips out in the minibus. Although the building is older it has really homely feeling and I'm sure that is down to the excellent care of all the staff. We couldn't have asked for more dedication. Thank you all so much.

Don't be put off by the tired environment as the level of care and support was excellent. Staff were very friendly and attentive. I would not hesitate to recommend Castle Lodge to others and hope my family member will be able to return for further respite care.

A fantastic nursing home with staff so obviously dedicated to their residents. The attention given to each one of them is a huge comfort to my family. They are kept active daily with quizzes, singalongs, and encouraged to take part. Every single member of staff makes the residents feel special. I'd recommend this place to anyone. It's a lovely, extremely clean and welcoming home.
