Prior to finding a suitable care home for my elderly father (Oct 2025) I visited many care homes within the area. Rosehall Manor in Shotts immediately stood out from the rest. It was clean, welcoming and safe. Every member of staff was approachable, always having time to discuss my father's care. I
have watched staff interact with the residents in challenging situations with sensitivity, compassion and professionalism. I am reassured by the empathy shown to my father and to those family members who visit. I can't thank the staff enough for making this difficult journey much easier for all involved.
Reply from Nicola Thomson, Home Manager at RosehallThank you for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience. We are happy to hear that you have found Rosehall to be a welcoming, safe and supportive home for your father. Your comments mean a great deal to our team and we appreciate your trust in us.

My Aunt was moved to Craig and Goyne after a poor experience at another home. She has been there 8 years now.
The home is spotless well decorated and has an excellent staff ethic with activities too many to mention. The staff are caring, cheerful and have good relationships with the residents. Communication
is excellent and there is an open door policy there are no barriers to visiting and I always feel welcome. Both care and nursing care are of good quality and I am more than happy with the management team.
Her room is homely and contains all the essentials to make it feel like a home from home.
The food is personal centred and catered to individual requests
I would highly recommend this Care Home to anyone who is looking for that secure, safe and supported environment
Reply from Audrey Johnston, Manager at Craig-en-GoyneThank you very much for your kind words. The staff really appreciate the support of residents' families.

Mum has been a resident here for just over 5 weeks and has settled in very well. This is in no small part to the efforts of management and staff who are professional, sensitive and caring. The home is maintained and equipped to a very high standard. Each resident is encouraged to make it "their home"
and to this end we have been able to make mum's room very personal to her. We have been very impressed with the friendliness of all staff who go out of their way to provide a relaxed welcoming atmosphere encouraging participation in a wide range of activities both in and outwith the home. We have no reservations about her safety and security and receive frequent updates on mum as the staff have clearly taken the time to get to know her. Overall we are more than happy that this is now mum's new home.
Reply from Nicola Thomson, Home Manager at RosehallThank you, Lynne, for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review. We are delighted to hear that your mum has settled so well and is feeling at home at Rosehall. Your kind comments about our staff team mean a great deal to us. Thank you once again for your lovely feedback and placing your trust in us to care for your mum.

My mother has been in Northwood for the past 18 months. She has dementia. I cannot praise Northwood highly enough. I live two hours away and it gives me real peace of mind to know that she is safe and well looked after. The manager is very welcoming and approachable. Always happy to listen to any concerns.
Most of the carers have been there since my mum went into the home. They all know me really well and make me feel part of a big family. They are absolutely amazing. So kind and caring towards my mother ( and me!) . Very professional. Mum really enjoys the home cooking and cake. The home always smells fresh. Lovely garden. I highly recommend Northwood and am so grateful that they had a space for Mum when she needed it.

I cannot praise Northwood highly enough for the compassionate care they show towards my father. He is treated respectfully and feels he is listened to. The meals are home cooked and eaten together with the other residents. Northwood involve family and friends in the decision making processes and organise
superb events of which we are made welcome to join in. The fact that so many staff have been there for many years speaks volumes about the place. Very well run, clean and homely. Thank you.
Reply from Annette Gillies, Manager at Northwood HouseThanks for the lovely review, your dad is involved with so many of the activities within the home but still retains his independence. It's a pleasure looking after him and having such a consistent staff team helps in making him feel at home.

From the very start of my parents moving into Northwood I have been impressed with the care and attention given to them by all staff members. There's a fantastic range of daily activities and outings which my Mum has loved. The atmosphere is happy and caring and being a small home it retains an informal
and open approach to visiting.
Birthdays and anniversaries are celebrated in style with wonderful cakes made by the staff! I can't praise the staff enough!
Reply from Annette Gillies, Manager at Northwood HouseIt's a privilege to have celebrated a very special wedding anniversary with your parents and that they have settled in so well. They have already become part of our family and your mum especially enjoys all the activities on offer.

My mum was at Rosehall for around 18 months. In all that time, mum was treated with dignity and respect. I watched the staff work hard in the fist few weeks to ensure mum was as orientated and well cared for at a time that was particularly tough for her, while she settled in. The care moved on from
constant respect and care to watching the carers display love and tenderness for mum. They worked hard taking care of her basic needs but so much more. Activities were regular, plentiful appropriate and enriching. They were a good range of types of activities so that they catered for all residents needs. Carers spent time with the residents in between care activities to ensure they were stimulated and loved. Not only was mum cared for but so we're we as a family. We were kept informed of any difficulties mum faced and also challenges mum had overcome with the staffs support.
Any suggestions of improvements in care or services was well considered and adopted when appropriate. 10/5 stars. Xxx

Our Mum lived at Rosehall for 18 months before she passed away. From the moment she arrived the staff supported her to remain as independent as possible. The staff always went the extra mile to maintain her health and spirit and genuinely cared about her and us. Our Mum was always treated with dignity
and respect. Rosehall is how a care home should be and we are eternally grateful to them.

We can't thank the staff and residents enough for welcoming Mum to Rosehall. The staff are kind, patient and build strong relationships with residents. They took the time to understand Mum, her life, things that are important to her, her likes and dislikes, and got to know us as a family too.
Rosehall
truly changed our perception of care home life. Mum was engaged in various activities including balloon badminton, making a memory box, enjoyed a tea dance, karaoke, and church service, and had her hair and nails done. She always raved about how great the staff were.
Mum came into the care home as a younger resident. She likes 'a blether' and to feel useful. Staff adapted to her needs, often chatting and having banter throughout the home, and involving her simple tasks to give her purpose.
The care home itself is lovely; bright, welcoming, with beautiful gardens, large bedrooms and a great day room with lots of natural light. Thank you for your kindness and taking great care of Mum.
Reply from Nicola Thomson, Home Manager at RosehallThank you so much for your thoughtful and kind words. It means a great deal that she felt valued and that her needs and preferences were met. We have only positive experiences with Rosehall. Mum went into the home in January 2022. The staff are genuinely kind, and caring and always have the resident's welfare at heart. The home exudes a lovely warm and friendly atmosphere.
Our mum is so happy and content at Rosehall and they have been able
to get her to take part in activities and outside visits.
The staff are always available to give updates and discuss how mum is doing as well as keeping us up to date with changes in medication etc.
On behalf of the family, I would like to thank them for all their support throughout as they have made what could be a stressful time stress-free.
Thanks again.
