Janet Brougham House

My Aunt resided in this care home for almost 11 years until she passed in Nov 25. She loved her time there and was extremely well cared for by a staffing team that became family to her. Her care was so good that when my parents began to decline I fought to get them rooms there. It is a very much
sought after home and has a long waiting list. Staff create such a welcoming atmosphere. My father stayed there for a short time until he passed in hospital and my mother is living there now. We are updated regularly by telephone check in with the staff. They are always available to chat about her care. I have another Aunt living here too. I think this is testament to the care they provide. I wouldn't put my parents into a facility that wasnt going to treat them with kindness, dignity and respect. It is a fabulous place for your relative to live. I would recommend 100% to anyone.

on 7th of may 2026, area manager told me that a carer dropped my advanced dementia mum from a bed onto a concrete floor and floor sockets, where mum then got a massive skin tear on arm and was left traumatised on floor. carer then left room for 30 mins or more and pretended she had not been in mums
room. carer now removed from care home and care inspectorate & SSSC investigating care home. this care home is a closed care home where staff tell lies to protect each other

My dad has had a massive loss of independence and poor health and came to stay in Janet Brougham at beginning of April. Dad has capacity and from the start he has settled well and feels the care and attention he receives is 5 star. He has already made good relationships with staff and feels safe and
reassured by them.
As a family, we are delighted with the care Dad is receiving and also the support that we have had as we go through a difficult time.
Cannot recommend Janet Brougham and the staff highly enough,

The Oakland Centre

My Mum has been attending Oaklands Day Centre five days a week and I cannot praise the staff enough for their care and dedication that my mum receives when she is at Oaklands. Due to Covid 19, the day centre has been closed for 9 months. This is an amazing service and I hope the centre will open in
the near future. Thank you again to all the Care workers who dedicate their time to helping and stimulating my Mum and all the other clients who attend. Very much appreciated.

I cannot recommend Oakland enough - I think it is Dundee's best-kept secret. The care and professionalism of the staff is excellent. My mother loved her days there and always came home having thoroughly enjoyed her day - what more could you ask for.
