I cannot speak too highly of the kindness and care my wife received during her stay of over two years at Downlands.
She was admitted with advanced dementia and had her every needs catered for by the dedicated and friendly staff at the Home.
She was always treated with dignity and respect in what were
at times difficult and stressful circumstances.
I was always given a warm welcome by the Manager and Staff whenever I visited the Home, and I would like to express my grateful
thanks to all at Downlands for taking such good care of my wife throughout the final years of her long battle with dementia.

My friend spent nearly 2 years in this home. The staff were always pleasant, available and approachable. When asked about her care my fiend always said she was well looked after and that the food was very good. However, her room was hardly big enough for someone needing full nursing care. It was very
cramped. Would have been difficult to accommodate a hoist. The washroom was tatty. There was no shower. The net curtains were hanging up, torn.
Reply from Sofia Costa, manager at Adelaide Nursing HomeThank you for your feedback and for your comments about our staff and the care your friend received. We're pleased to hear she felt well looked after and enjoyed the food during her time with us.
Due to her medical conditions, your friend was unable to use a shower and therefore received all personal care in bed, in line with her care plan and assessed needs. We have two rooms within the home that include a shower and a communal shower room for all other residents in each floor. We do our best to allocate these rooms based on residents' individual needs and abilities at the time of admission.
We appreciate you sharing your observations, as feedback is always valuable to us and helps with future improvements.

Mum was discharged from hospital to Beaumont Nursing Home after having had a major stroke. Her room was warm and comfortable. The staff were kind, considerate and very caring. We were so relieved, knowing that mum was being well cared for, given that we'd not had any choice in where mum was placed.
We're just glad it was Beamont! We can't thank the staff enough and would highly recommend the home.

My husband and I cannot praise Grace and the team enough whilst they cared for our Uncle who moved in to Downlands in October 2025. He has never looked more comfortable and well fed thanks to the care and attention the team gave him. He constantly had wonderful people looking out for him and caring
for his day to day needs. Everyone of the team from Grace to the nurses, carers and chef were all amazing and what a wonderful job they do...thank you so much.
Reply from Grace Mwai, Registered Manager at DownlandsThank you so much for taking the time to provide a review of the person centred care we provided to your dear uncle. The nursing home was so welcoming in such a difficult time. They looked after my dad so well, always with a smile and care. They reassured me the whole way that my dad was engaging well with them, eating, drinking, and allowing care. I knew he was safe and well, even though he didn't fully understand
why her was there. They put on daily activities, had dogs and kittens visit. Always tea and coffee available. We can't thank them enough.

From the moment I arrived to view this home for my late Dad, I knew it was right for him. The residents in the lounge were all friendly, engaging and seemed content and happy. This is really the best indication of a good care home.

All the staff that I engaged with were nothing but helpful, understanding

and patient. Dad said on one occasion that he care couldn't be any better and that he had 'No complaints whatsoever'. Even though he could be difficult at times, which is understandable given the situation, the staff remained 100% professional and caring.

It was a long haul to get Dad transferred from Lytham St Anne's to Hove, a task that took a disproportionate amount of energy from myself and my Dad. When he did eventually arrive after an 11 hour ambulance transfer he was utterly exhausted and I didn't think he'd survive. But with the excellent care he received and with the love and support of myself and my sister, he rallied and his stay at Adelaide was perfect for us all.

My mum was in the nursing home for a year before she recently passed.
All of the staff at the home were very kind and caring and were always on hand if we needed anything.
I never liked leaving my mum after visiting but I could leave knowing that she was safe and being very well cared for. It was
traumatic for my mum having to go into the home but the staff were kind and compassionate and treated her with dignity and respect. It is only because of the care and dedication of the nurses and carers that we had the last year with mum and for that I can't thank them enough.
If anyone has a loved one that is needing nursing care I would highly recommend Beaumont.

We were very lucky that Mum was placed at the Adelaide back in 2021, the care for her progressive condition has been excellent and she was very comfortable there until she recently passed away. Staff have seemingly boundless energy and compassion, and go beyond the call of duty to provide enjoyable

My husband received the most wonderful care for the 2 1/2 weeks that he spent in Downlands
The Manager & all the staff were so kind to him & myself & my family. There were many shows of kindness such as the name on his door with a painting of an angler as they had asked about his former hobbies & the
posy left of his bed when my daughter & I made our final visit.

All the staff are happy, welcoming and friendly. My aunt was made to feel at home. The staff constantly interacts with residents. For my aunt's birthday, a party was thrown, including birthday cake and her favourite music. My aunt loved to sing, and the staff would come over to her and sing, so she
would join in. When my aunt was passing, the staff were very kind and respectful, coming in to kiss her. A real family feel, and this was extended to the family. My aunt was very happy here. We couldn't have wished for better for her final years.

Ever since my mother moved to Downlands I have been repeatedly impressed with the level of care she has received. The staff are always so respectful of the needs of all residents and visitors alike. Everyone is so accommodating and friendly, that I find this particular nursing home to be outstanding
in all areas. I am kept informed if there is anything that needs my involvement or if I need to be notified of any changes. I genuinely feel happy that my mother is receiving the best possible care in a respectful environment that is both friendly and professional at all times. The staff are incredibly compassionate and I am so very grateful that my mother is happy and comfortable and supported by such wonderful people. The chef is amazing and creates beautiful cakes when there are occasions to celebrate and the meals are nutritious, home cooked, and tailored to individual needs. The manager is so nice and welcoming and has a fantastic team beside her supporting the residents.
