My Dad had to go into respite care a couple of weeks ago. I was very worried as my experience of other care homes has not been good.
However on arrival I felt I had walked into a big happy family. The residents were smiling and chatty and the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and
answered any questions I had. They were able to still my anxiety's and Dad was soon settled, chatting and making some new friends. The staff are conscientious and caring and encourage Dad to interact and keep him engaged which helps with his dementia.
If you want a caring family atmosphere for your loved one then this is the right place to try!!!

This care home is like extended family the staff treat residents like there own nothing too much trouble .The activities are amazing always something always going on, friends and family are always made welcome and managers door is always open to discuss anything at all or even just a friendly chat. They
have a great social media page updated daily to see what your loved ones are doing and are always thinking of new ways to improve .I can always rest easy in the knowledge that my sister is well looked after in all her needs even the cleaner is outstanding my sister was asleep and t pass time l thought I'd wipe her shelves couldn't find any dust !!!
This home may not be to Hilton standards but the care and attention given go way farer than material things well done poppy n Millie and all the staff entertainment lady Sharron is one in a million loved by all some residents see her and get up dancing it's amazing .
Reply from Poppy Wasteney, Home Manager at Mulberry ManorThank you so much for this wonderful feedback. As a team we have worked hard to create a friendly and family orientated community here at Mulberry Manor. Sharron is fantastic with providing meaningful activities such as baking club, exercise sessions and plenty of entertainment. We are also introducing a new walking club to promote exercise and fresh air. We are very proud of all the staff here at Mulberry Manor.
It is lovely to know you feel you are able to speak with management at any time, we aim to be visible and available as much as possible. I will ensure this feedback is shared to all our team.

My mother went into Rotherwood Care Home last December (2024) for respite, and with her Alzheimer's we decided she should stay permanently. At home she had carers visiting, but was often alone. At Rotherwood she had company, joined in activities, and celebrated Christmas and her birthday, which gave
me real peace of mind.
The staff regularly shared photos, which meant a lot since I live in the USA and couldn't visit often. Communication was always clear, and they contacted me promptly if there were any problems.
When Mum moved onto palliative care, the team provided compassionate, dignified support that went beyond what she received from the nursing staff at the hospital. I'm deeply grateful to everyone at Rotherwood for their kindness and for giving my mother comfort, dignity, and companionship in her final months.
Reply from Emily Cornall, Registered Manager at Rotherwood Care HomeThank you for your kind feedback- I will pass this onto staff. It was a pleasure to care for your mum at Rotherwood.

Denvernshire care (Mulburry Manor) seems to be more bothered with money rather than the residents. Hardly any improvements have been made to the home and any decorations have been provided by the staff and residents families. There is no where near enough staff to deal with the upper floor where the
residents are homed (dementia). They are rarely taken in to the garden, which has hardly any seating for the people that live there. When they do go outside there are hardly shaded areas. She pays nearly £1000 for her care and what she receives is disgusting. It's very basic and just covers the basic standard of living. Get up, fed and go to bed.
Reply from Poppy Wasteney, Home Manager at Mulberry ManorI am very sorry to hear the concerns you have raised. We have an open door policy here at Mulberry Manor and management are available to discuss any concerns you may have. The home has undergone many improvements since Devonshire Care took over with many more still planned. All residents spend time outside, including your Mum. Please ask to see the lovely photos we have on your next visit to the home. The home is correctly staffed, we use a dependency staffing tool to ensure this. We have a wide range of activities held within the home and recent outings such as a barge trip with afternoon tea. It would be lovely to be able sit and have a chat with you to show you all the wonderful things happening at Mulberry Manor.

I am so happy we chose this home for my husband. The team at Mulberry welcomed us all as a family and gave him an excellent home from home experience at what was a very difficult time. He was so ill, but the team worked wonders to make him as comfortable as possible, happy and get to know him. They
definitely knew what he liked - ice cream and crunchy nut cornflakes. There was so much respect in how they treated him and always respected his wishes, in a personalised approach to meet his needs. The home became part of my life, and made us part of the "Mulberry family". Always someone around who genuinely wanted to know how we were all doing, how we were and let me know what he had been up to. The staff have made Mulberry a home that is built on love, in a caring family-centred caring environment.
Reply from Lesley Smith, Registered Manger at Mulberry ManorThank you for your lovely feedback. It was an honour to be a part of his life, and he will always be remembered. You and your family will always be welcome to visit Mulberry. I will pass your lovely words to the staff, and I know they will truly appreciate it.

Rotherwood Care Home is an amazing place, I cannot thank the staff enough for the care they give to my dad. Each member of staff not only show commitment to their care but also love and dignity to him. After arriving in August, initially for respite, he is now a full time resident as he feels Rotherwood
and all staff have become an extension of his family. We, as a family, can relax knowing he is very well cared for, happy, well fed and comfortable. Thank you to all the staff at Rotherwood, you are an amazing team and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Rotherwood as the first choice to have loved ones cared for.

The standard of care and kindness when our mum was very ill was outstanding. She was treated with such love and care and as a family, we also felt very looked after. The management team and the carers helped us so much at the worst time of our lives and as a family, we will be forever grateful. The
staff are incredibly hard-working and are often working in very difficult circumstances.

Our first experience of finding a care home for a relative wasn't easy, however, we visited Mulberry Manor and found that just stepping inside the home felt friendly, a home from home. The room allocated was clean and fresh, and the cost was very reasonable compared to other homes. The staff at Mulberry
were there to assist in settling in. Staff were empathetic and courteous at all times. Staff encouraged residents to join in with activities, meeting and greeting others. All care needs were met. Staff were trained in the equipment used. We would definitely recommend Mulberry to others.
