Review of Mulberry Manor from Alison B (Daughter of Resident) published on 29 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My mum had been in Mulberry Manor a few times in 2025 for respite as she lived with me. When I was on holiday or having work done on my house. Both times the staff were amazing, mum was well looked after. Unfortunately, in January, in hospital, she was given weeks to live. Mulberry Manor had a room for her so quickly, as I couldn't look after her 24/7 even with carers. Mulberry was less than a 5min drive for me and a 1min walk for my brother from his house. The care she received in the last week of her life (as weeks turned out to be 1wk) was beyond measure. Family was with her from morning to night, but knowing she had proper care overnight put our minds at ease. My family could not have asked for more from the staff and management. Thank you so much. Alison xx

Abbey village has been looking after my father since June last year on a permanent basis. Their care has been great throughout even when dad has had tough moments during his worsening Dementia. The staff are lovely and have the patience to deal with anything that comes their way. Dementia is a cruel and difficult to deal with diagnosis and Abbey village have also helped my mum to deal with life without her husband by her side twenty four seven.

Thank you Abbey village for your continued support and care.

Review of Rotherwood Care Home from J B (Daughter of Resident) published on 10 March 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Mum went for respite. On arrival we were shown to the bedroom which could only be described as a store room. There was 6 repose pumps and a deflated repose mattress stuffed down the side of a vanity sink. On the top of the wardrobe were packs of incontinence pads. The wardrobe had a spare quilt and other paraphernalia stuffed in the bottom. The bed wasn't made up and when the bedding was brought into the room it was well worn and grubby. We wiped the surfaces and drawers ourselves before unpacking. In the drawers and cupboards was left over toiletries and the odd pieces of clothing. We removed a filthy cushion and put mum's own cushion and bedding on the following day only to find debris between a repose mattress and the cracked bed mattress.
The smell was horrendous and the commode was filthy. I emptied iand cleaned it on every visit. There is some lovely hard working carers but not enough to keep on top of things.
Lost clothes even though they were labelled.

It's very chaotic. AVOID

Can't thank this care home enough. My grandma is really happy and really well cared for. The home manager is lovely, she is approachable and really helpful with any questions we have. The staff are also very knowledgeable and helpful. Food is lovely and my grandma has put weight on since living here, she is settled and comfortable. As a family, our minds are at ease knowing she is really well cared for at all times. My grandma came for respite but has decided to stay full time as she loves it so much here, I can not thank the staff enough for what they do

Dad was admitted into Morton Manor in October as he has late stage Alzheimer's, this has been a very difficult time for our family however the manager has helped ease our worries in his professional and approachable manner . Dad has been treated with dignity and respect and is well looked after here . The staff are genuine and lovely and you can tell they really care for the residents. Everyone of them is approachable and happy to discuss any concerns and worries . The manager in particular has spent a lot of time with us discussing care and even visited Dad in his own home before he was admitted which meant he was familiar which is so important . This team of staff are so important as the genuine care of residents is the most important thing to us and knowing Dad is safe and looked after is priceless. Thank you .

Review of Abbey Village from Penny H (Wife of Resident) published on 30 January 2026 Submitted via Website

My husband had a 2 week placement at Abbey Village after a long hospital stay before he returned home.
The staff were kind, polite and friendly. They knew their residents as individuals with differing interests and concerns. There were lots of activities but no compulsion to participate.
The accomodation was basic but was kept clean and tidy.

The team, led by the very capable manager, Louise, pulled together to provide the best care for the residents.

My Dad had to go into respite care a couple of weeks ago. I was very worried as my experience of other care homes has not been good.
However on arrival I felt I had walked into a big happy family. The residents were smiling and chatty and the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and answered any questions I had. They were able to still my anxiety's and Dad was soon settled, chatting and making some new friends. The staff are conscientious and caring and encourage Dad to interact and keep him engaged which helps with his dementia.

If you want a caring family atmosphere for your loved one then this is the right place to try!!!

Review of Morton Manor from Emma C (Daughter of Resident) published on 7 January 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My Mum - Linda entered Morton Manor on 18 November 2024 after a terrible experience in hospital starting August 2024. The team at Morton Manor nursed Linda over a period of almost 12 months. They cured her bed sores, stabilised her medical conditions and provided a safe environment for Linda to build up her health and confidence. This resulted in Linda going for bedbound on arrival to being able to have a phased return to independent living with my Dad concluding in her discharge on 7 November 2025. Neal and the Team were kind and caring to Linda and my Dad. We cannot thank Morton Manor enough for what they have done for Linda. Linda is now looking forward to Christmas 2025 at home with Dad and her family and is making plans for 2026. Thank you to all at Morton Manor from. Linda, Allan and the family.

When we were looking for respite for my Dad this was the only home that said 'No appointment needed come see us anytime' We went the same day and found the right place for my dad. The Manager and staff are fabulous they go out of there way to support residents and families. Home cooked menu all the time and always encouring residents to join others for meals etc.

My dad was in for 3 weeks respite and then stayed an extra few months before he sadly passed away.

Many thanks to all the staff the care was exceptional and we would definitely recommend this care home to others.

Louise (the Manager) is the most supportive Manager I have ever spoken to. She listens and sorts out all our concerns regarding my Dad and answers everything we ask of her. I'm always happy to approach her and she always finds time to speak to us should we need her. Both herself and her staff care for my Dad exceptionally well and he is happy being at Abbey Village. All staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the care my Dad needs and they treat him like they would their own family. He has lovely meals made fresh which he thoroughly enjoys and they treat my dad with respect and compassion.

Thank you to a great team of staff - we are eternally grateful for you support and care.

When my grandmother first came to Abbey Village, we were shocked with how terribly ran it was, the previous manager ran the home into the ground and how unmanaged and unsafe the home was for residents.

Under the new manager Louise we have seen the home grow into a happy and safe place to be, my grandmother is happy, healthy and safe. Thank you Louise for giving all the residents the dignity and happiness they deserve in their later lives, and thank you for giving us peace of mind that my grandmother is loved and cared for by you and your entire team, I would now recommend this home and feel confident that my grandmother will continue to be happy in your care.

My mother went into Rotherwood Care Home last December (2024) for respite, and with her Alzheimer's we decided she should stay permanently. At home she had carers visiting, but was often alone. At Rotherwood she had company, joined in activities, and celebrated Christmas and her birthday, which gave me real peace of mind.
The staff regularly shared photos, which meant a lot since I live in the USA and couldn't visit often. Communication was always clear, and they contacted me promptly if there were any problems.

When Mum moved onto palliative care, the team provided compassionate, dignified support that went beyond what she received from the nursing staff at the hospital. I'm deeply grateful to everyone at Rotherwood for their kindness and for giving my mother comfort, dignity, and companionship in her final months.
