My mum lived with myself and my husband for over 20 years. Then the day came that it was time for Mum to go into a home due to several falls. I was beside myself, couldn’t stop crying and worrying about my lovely mum.
I did not need to worry, everyone made my mum feel at home and made her days full
of happiness, fun and laughter, and of course outstanding care and love.
Thank you to you all for being there.

My husband went to the home at the beginning of September. I explained to the home the reason my husband had to go into residential care, gave them a list of all his mental and physical issues and a long list of medication. They accepted him at the home. It was only after a few months I was told the
home was not able to look after his mental health needs and I was asked to find another home. When I queried the fact they have mental health conditions in their specialist care categories, I was told none of the staff had mental health training and if assistance is required they would contact the community mental health team. He was moved temporarily to another home but his health deteriorated to such a level I had no option but to take my husband back. I personally feel the home should not have accepted my husband if they have no experience in mental health and certainly should not have this advertised as a specialist care category if they are not able to provide this specific care.

Just eight days into my mother taking up her place at Barnhaven, the transformation in her health and mood is truely remarkable. From contacting the Manager who helped me every step of the way, to move mum from London, and the friendly caring staff who look out for her, I would say this is the best
care home I have had the pleasure to be associated with. The actvities are amazing and the observational skills when caring for someone who is elderly is second to none. Mum has regained her appetite and loves her cosy room. I cannot praise this placement for mum enough. Special thanks to the 'Pink Ladies'.

My mother came to Barnhaven in December 2018. Everyone there was helpful, kind and treated both myself and my mother with utmost respect. Mummy was so well looked after. Sadly she passed away this June. Again everyone at Barnhaven treated both her and myself with huge respect and dignity. The girls
there also helped me enormously after Mum had died. I cannot recommend Barnhaven highly enough.

A truly wonderful caring place. Staff are all very pleasant, caring and helpful to residents and visitors alike. The overall feeling is of a family home, not an institution. There is always a lot of laughter and fun going on, but never to the detriment of the care to residents. Whatever the staff are
doing they are always on hand and in tune to the resident's various needs and wants. No one is left waiting for anything. I am very pleased I found them.

The carers go above and beyond their expected duties. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They are always welcoming and have time to discuss family's health and offer emotional support when needed. Some come in on their days off to visit residents.
Management are generally available to discuss any
concerns.

The new owner took over in September. The previous organisation had had some problems but the staff were kind and well-intentioned. However, the new "regime" is just amazing. There is a very intelligent and professional approach to the care of my frail and anxious mother. The manager works with the
family and is able and willing to take on board suggestions and concerns as well as implementing (very quickly) their own recommendations. The level of support and care for me, as a worried daughter, is wonderful. I cannot praise them enough.

Easy living, the company has now taken over the running of Margaret Allen house. In the few short weeks, they have been here they have done so much. Toilets, baths and beds have all been replaced. Also, the decoration is fast nearing completion. Margaret Allen House is now looking like a bright, warming
home.

A warm and welcoming home where the staff are very friendly and willing to answer any queries we may have.
Mum looks well cared for and is content. She has a good relationship with the care staff who take into account her confusion when attending to her.
Very impressed with the activities and the
amount of preparation put into each session.

My mum moved to her current care home nearly 2 years ago. Whilst at her previous home she was often left alone in her room, often in a "grubby" condition, very little interaction with staff or other residents; here things are completely different, well looked after, clean and tidy, staff interact and
treat her kindly and carefully. A credit to this care home society. She is well looked after.
