My mum lived with myself and my husband for over 20 years. Then the day came that it was time for Mum to go into a home due to several falls. I was beside myself, couldn’t stop crying and worrying about my lovely mum.
I did not need to worry, everyone made my mum feel at home and made her days full
of happiness, fun and laughter, and of course outstanding care and love.
Thank you to you all for being there.

My husband went to the home at the beginning of September. I explained to the home the reason my husband had to go into residential care, gave them a list of all his mental and physical issues and a long list of medication. They accepted him at the home. It was only after a few months I was told the
home was not able to look after his mental health needs and I was asked to find another home. When I queried the fact they have mental health conditions in their specialist care categories, I was told none of the staff had mental health training and if assistance is required they would contact the community mental health team. He was moved temporarily to another home but his health deteriorated to such a level I had no option but to take my husband back. I personally feel the home should not have accepted my husband if they have no experience in mental health and certainly should not have this advertised as a specialist care category if they are not able to provide this specific care.

The new owner took over in September. The previous organisation had had some problems but the staff were kind and well-intentioned. However, the new "regime" is just amazing. There is a very intelligent and professional approach to the care of my frail and anxious mother. The manager works with the
family and is able and willing to take on board suggestions and concerns as well as implementing (very quickly) their own recommendations. The level of support and care for me, as a worried daughter, is wonderful. I cannot praise them enough.

Easy living, the company has now taken over the running of Margaret Allen house. In the few short weeks, they have been here they have done so much. Toilets, baths and beds have all been replaced. Also, the decoration is fast nearing completion. Margaret Allen House is now looking like a bright, warming
home.
