As a long term recovering disabled man following a severe stroke 11 years ago I'm in a wheelchair. In July last year I then suffered serious leg break whilst in an unadapted room in a Hotel I was having to self fund due to homelessness. After 8 weeks in Hospital I was then transferred to a Rehabilitation Centre. Ive now got to have further surgery in the coming weeks to remove metalwork from the previous operation, and then begin physio again. On 3rd July 2026 a Manager in Willowbank Lodge gave me a notice of EVICTION from Willowbank Lodge to take place at 3pm on 6th July 2026. The Council have offered completely unsuitable temporary emergency accommodation in a Homeless Hostel. I visited it on 4th July 2026 and the room isn't safely adapted for my needs nor has emergency pull chords in the room or bathroom. I now face being put on the streets tomorrow in my wheelchair despite being due a further operation and rehabilitation. This is a scary situation.
