All staff I have met are friendly, knowledgeable and approachable. This includes auxiliary personnel like those working in laundry and maintenance as well as the front line managers and care workers. Residents are treated as individuals.

At the end of this period she was clearly thriving and had settled in well. We decided to keep Mum at Foxhunters as the care she was receiving in this lovely home was second to none. The staff are dedicated, kind, warm and friendly and their residents' welfare is always their priority. Mum enjoys the freshly prepared home cooked food at Foxhunters and I believe this has contributed greatly to her wellbeing during her time there. The ensuite rooms are beautiful and many have stunning views over the lovely peaceful gardens onto the Blorenge Mountain beyond. There are also communal areas and balconies from which to enjoy the views. There is a large and varied programme of daily activities for the residents to enjoy, from musical events, to gardening, Tai Chi and Keep Fit, as well as an on site hairdresser, coffee shop, bar and gym. Thank you Foxhunters for giving Mum a new lease of life!

I would recommend Foxhunters - it is second to none for facilities, activities and a much higher than average staff to residents ratio. However, there were initial problems getting Dad's care plan right and lack of consistency amongst staff about recording falls. It took management weeks to resolve these issues. I am now much more relaxed about Dad being at Foxhunters and no longer worry about him. I just wish the settling in period could have been managed better.

It may be that others have a smoother start than us; I hope this is the case for the majority.

Having taken the large decision to move my elderly mother into a care home, we chose Foxhunters Care Community in Abergavenny and could not be happier with the care she has received. The care home is of the highest standard in terms of cleanliness, utilities and accessibility but most importantly, the care and compassion offered by ALL the staff is consistently first class and offered with a smiling face. I know my mother is safe, well cared for and happy which is so important to both her and I. Thank you to all at Foxhunters.

As next of kin to my Aunt it was a big and emotional decision to find the right care setting when she could no longer live at home. From the moment I walked across the threshold I was overwhelmed with the friendly and caring atmosphere of Foxhunters. By the end of my visit I knew it was the right place for my Aunt as it was somewhere I would like to stay myself. 7 months on my Aunt has settled in really well made new friends, enjoys the food, entertainment and faultless care. Has her own front door to a lovely room and I have peace of mind knowing that she is well cared for and I'm kept up to date even when I'm away. I would highly recommend Foxhunters.

Very pleased with the care my Dad is receiving at Foxhunter. He moved in the beginning of June and settled really well. This is due to the care that he receives. The staff communicate with each other and ourselves really well if any issue arises. The food is outstanding and his bedroom always smells clean. Dad is always well dressed and presentable. We are very happy with Foxhunters.

Mam has been at Foxhunter for just over 5 years. She suffers with dementia and can get good and bad days. The carers are always aware and switched on with her needs, if she needs a lie in they will make sure when she's ready she gets her breakfast and shower, care is definitely relative to the person not a blanket approach which is really important. Mam is always clean, moisturised and smelling lovely. She's always dressed in one of her pretty dresses and has a cwtchy blanket as she feels the cold. She is always involved in various entertainment if she is in the mood to attend. Mam on the whole has a good appetite and always enjoys the meals and puddings, there is always a fresh drink nearby. All in all from the cooks, cleaners, carers, nurses and laundry, entertainment and receptions staff when I leave after a visit I know she's in very safe hands.

My father has just spent 2 weeks respite care at Foxhunter Care Home in Abergavenny. The standard of care was amazing, the staff were incredible and the food was outstanding. All the staff were friendly, kind and fun. My father has come out of the home with improved mobility and a smile on his face. We can't thank everyone at the Foxhunter enough. They looked after my father so well and to the rest of the family, they were welcoming and understanding of our concerns about my father after his lengthy stay in hospital. My father became a resident at Foxhunters in June 2025 after a fall at home and a cancer diagnosis of 6 months to live. From day 1, he received excellent care and was happy and settled. Even after another fall and hip fracture in October, the nurses and carers were so attentive and kind. He was always clean and dressed. Dad's last days were made so much better and less painful thanks to the staff. My sisters and I wish Dad had gone into Foxhunters much earlier.

Based on my mother's experience at Foxhunters my biggest regret is that I didn't move her elsewhere sooner. If you are looking for peace of mind for your loved one I would spend your/their money elsewhere.

I was made to feel extremely welcome.The staff were genuinely caring, nothing was too much trouble always willing to go the extra mile if needed. Interesting activities every day. An in house excellent hairdresser. Entertainment sessions enjoyable.

My mother has been living at Foxhunters for about 18 months now and I have to say that the care she has received has been first class. She is happy and content and they properly manage every aspect of her day-to-day living and care. I would not hesitate in recommending Foxhunters to anyone. The home is clean and well run and the staff are absolutely fantastic and brilliantly trained. The food is excellent, particularly the specially arranged buffets and birthday or other special occasion lunches.

The care and concern at Foxhunters for all residents is outstanding. My mum is so much more settled now and loves everyone! Despite her mixed dementia, she tells me every day how lovely the staff are and how clean it it and she has lovely food! Mum now thinks of this as home, which is the most reassuring thing for our family as moving her to Foxhunters from Pembrokeshire was a huge decision and rather challenging A quote from mum recently: "Every night they knock on my door to check if I'm safe in bed and if I need anything- they are wonderful!" December has been challenging for Foxhunters with the storm stopping the Christmas fayre and then Influenza A requiring lockdown to keep residents safe - but everything the staff do is in the best interests of residents. They made a huge effort to support well residents still to have fun at this festive time. We were immensely grateful to be able to take mum out to be with family on Christmas Day and the welcome on her return was so special.

My mum and dad have been in the care home since September 2022. My dad died in August this year. The staff were all very kind and helpful. They were always patient with him even though he was quite demanding. My experience there has always been good.

There is a full programme of varied activities daily for residents to participate in, although our mum generally chooses not to. She appreciates the garden - the peaceful setting and wonderful views from there of the Blorenge as she likes to have a little walk whenever she can. Having moved here in March this year, we are very reassured that mum is so content.

My mother has lived at Foxhunters Care Community for two years. Everyone has been incredibly supportive and kind over this time. The level of care shown always goes over and above. There is a positive energy here which can be felt as soon as you step through the door.
