Care Homes Owned by Belvedere Care Homes Ltd in East Riding of Yorkshire

The premises are "tired" and rather basic compared to swankier care homes, but in my experience the standard of care is better than the more expensive "four star" care home where my other parent is living, and communication with relatives and candour of management are definitely superior. Staff turnover is relatively low and the carer: resident ratio appears adequate. The staff and management team are, by and large, wonderful. The layout of the home and its relatively small size means staff are always able to keep an eye on everyone. The food is very good (considering the undoubted budget constraints). I'm a fan. The premises just need a bit of investment by the new owners (whoever they are).

Mum has been at The Emmanuel for 3 months now and seems to be settling down and joining in with the many activities that are going on. On arrival from Hospital she was very agitated but was greeted by lovely, friendly and compassionate, caring staff who put her at ease. I cannot tell you how much that meant. Having worked in care homes myself I was somewhat concerned but I needn't have worried. I know mum has not been the easiest of residents but all the staff have been marvellous and so patient with her and I feel this has helped her settle in. As a family we cannot express how much we have been helped and nurtured on this journey and would just like to say thank you so much to the whole team

My mother is being well looked after and it is great she can interact with the other residents. Staff are very caring and friendly. Kept informed if there are any problems. Overall happy she is in a good home.

My only negative is that the TV showing videos in the lounge section, is far too loud making conversation during visiting difficult especially when in the courtyard.

Management and staff are welcoming and friendly, there always seems to be activities going on whenever I visit. The meals are varied and smell and look nice. One of the first things I noticed on visiting was there was no smell of urine like I have experienced in some homes I've visited. The rooms are kept clean and tidy daily.

All the staff including the cleaner have been amazing.

I feel very satisfied that he is well cared for whilst living there. It gives me peace of mind knowing he gets the care he needs. The staff are always friendly and welcoming.

My husband has been living at the Emmanuel Care Home for eight months. He has been looked after by the kindest, calm, caring and compassionate staff. Moving a spouse into a care home is a very difficult and emotional decision to make. I have been supported and cared for too. I feel that as a couple we have become part of the loving Emmanuel family. The Emmanuel is a safe place, security is good, I am aware of regular fire drills.The use of PPE is strictly adhered to in the prevention of cross infection.There are regular activities and outings. It has been particularity lovely to see the interaction between my husband and other residents with the children who visit once a month from a local school.

His health has improved and he is more able to get around now. He is a bit confused but knowing the staff are aware of his needs is peace of mind for us and we are only a phone call away. For those who want to join in there is always something to do.

100% confidence in all aspects of the care home, very confident that my mother receives complete attention from all staff employed or otherwise engaged with the care home. I am informed immediately of any concerns regarding my mother health status and know that any issues are being resolved immediately and reported in the care plan. Our mum is completely settled here, her needs are discussed regularly. We feel she is in a safe environment, all staff are respectful of the residents. The home is lovely and clean as are the bedrooms, plenty of activities going on for the residents too. Food menu is on display and alternatives in case it's not to everyone liking.

Very impressed overall with the facilities and staff at Hamshaw Court. My mum had to be moved from previous home in December 2023 and we were concerned that conditions/care etc would not be matching previous, but in fact they exceed expectations.

My auntie has been a resident for a couple of years now. The staff always go above and beyond with all of her needs and she has always been very happy at Emmanuel. This gives you great comfort as a relative to know your loved ones are happy and so well cared for.

The activities organised by the staff are fantastic. The staff themselves are always positive, happy and enthusiastic. Lovely place to look after loved ones. Much better than previous homes we have encountered.

My dad has been in Emmanuel House since February this year. We had lost my mum a year before and after she'd gone, dad deteriorated gradually and his dementia became more apparent to a point where he struggled to function. My dad has never been sociable outside the family but the team at Emmanuel House have managed to make him feel comfortable and inclusive and he engages easily and enjoys their company. When I visit he always appears very presentable- clean, shaven and well-dressed. His room/en-suite is always clean when I visit. He praises the staff, care and food during our conversations. He is healthier now. I have noticed how the team spend time with him when he is on his 'down' days and raises a smile from him. I noticed the staff to be friendly, calm, caring, patient and professional. There are activities and trips out for the residents and it is really lovely to see photos of these on the social media page. I feel very comfortable in trusting Emmanuel House with my dad's care.

The team at Emmanuel have been a real eye-opener. My father has been in residential care since having a stroke 3 years ago, I was firmly of the view that care homes were all the same and he moved through a few different ones, with varying levels of care and success. The day he arrived at Emmanuel we were greeted by a professional team of people who really care, everyone in uniform with a complete understanding of their roles and responsibilities. He was immediately assessed and an action plan was put in place to begin improving his pre-existing conditions and overall care. This care home is literally what it says a home for your loved ones where every single employee genuinely cares.

Management are very easy to deal with, bringing proactive solutions with no prompting and often when you haven't realised yourself that there may be an issue. The home is clean and secure and all staff are very attentive to ensuring doors are closed, and access is managed through a signing-in/out system.

The only reason I gave 4 stars for value for money as a private payee it costs 200 more a week which seems a lot but that is definitely not the staff's fault.

My mum is a resident at Hamshaw Court. She is bed bound and at first we thought she was at the end of her life however the care that this home has given to me has been fantastic and she has become stronger giving us extra time to enjoy with her. All the staff are great, any concerns are always dealt with however there are 2 female staff that go in and talk to my mum, they give her (and Winston mum's teddy), a drink and breakfast etc. I have to say that these two deserve massive praise for the way that they are! My mum can be quite unresponsive at times but when they walk in the room she seems to liven up, she laughs and smiles and it warms me! The way they interact with her is amazing. They take the time to talk to us also and genuinely come across as though they go that extra mile! I don't see too much more of the other staff as I can only travel to the area once a month but if these two are anything to go by then I'd definitely give this home and all their staff a 10/10. Cleanliness 10/10.
