After eight years of caring for my mom, I reached a point where I could no longer give her the level of support she truly deserved. The thought of placing her in someone else's care was overwhelming at first, but I knew she needed professional help. Now, after five weeks at Kitwood, I am deeply grateful
for everything the staff has done. They are not only wonderful at their jobs, but they also bring genuine warmth and kindness to every interaction. The activities and meals are excellent, and every resident is treated with such respect and compassion.
What surprised me most was how quickly mom felt like home, right from her very first day. That sense of comfort and safety is entirely thanks to the amazing team at Kitwood. I can honestly say that seeing my mom so happy and settled means the world to me. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for making this transition so much easier for both of us.

My mum is a resident on Renoir she's been here since been discharged from hospital in 2023 mum had lived at our family home for many years and we worried about how she would be in a new environment, but them worries soon disappeared when we got to know the staff on Renoir's unit and can see how caring
and compassionate they are, they go out of their way to make the residents feel special and families feel reassured that their loved ones are well cared for. Couldn't ask for a better home for my mum.

My husband has been at Gainsborough House for almost five years. During that time his care has been excellent. They have adapted well to ensure that his needs have been met as his condition has changed. Despite him having limited communication now they anticipate what is in his best interest and look
after him in a caring and professional way. The staff are supportive and welcoming.

My husband has been in Renoir at Gainsborough House since discharged from hospital 2 weeks ago. He has alzheimers, type 2 diabetes & coeliac. I was concerned about his gluten free food, but I needn't have worried. He is safe and hasn't been frightened. By day 3 he was settled and loved the staff. The
staff are kind, caring, professional and their care is person centered. My only hope is I can have him stay here after this period of respite. Everywhere smells and looks clean I would recommend Gainsborough House to anyone who needs dementia nursing care for their loved one.

My mum has been here for 12 months now, she came on end of life but the staff have been amazing with her care and she is still going strong. Melisa has been great and if I have ever needed any support she has always been there, even the reception staff. Kerry has also been good, especially when it comes
to us having any medical care because she is experienced in this.

Highly recommended.
There is always a friendly and welcoming greeting as soon as you walk into reception.
The carers are excellent, provide any updates requested and even offer a drink.
The entertainment and activities are clearly enjoyed by everyone, vary according to residents needs and something
is available every day.
There is a weekly food menu and is very appetizing.
I can honestly say that every member of the team knows my husband and always speak to him on every unit.
The management always engage with him and I feel that he is absolutely cared for and kept safe in Kitwood.

My dear friend has been a resident for some time now, and I try to visit each week. Whenever I turn up, no matter what day or time, I am so reassured by the level of care that my friend receives. This friendliness and commitment from all the staff show no limits. I know my friend is living the best
life with the horrible disease she has. She loves to partake in the many activities and always looks happy.

My father has been resident for respite care for 7 weeks. During that time he has been treated with dignity & respect by all members of staff. They have got to know him and his likes & dislikes & they have accommodated these (e.g. chocolate treats!) The activities have bee varied and marvelous. He particularly
liked the music & arrival activities. His personal care/hygiene has been excellent. The food has been varied & nutritious. His room was clean & comfortable. I would recommend Gainsborough House to any friend or relative. Thank you.

My wife moved here from hospital in April 2024. She settled in immediately, she was in Ocean 2 unit for dementia plus care. The care and compassion shown to her was amazing. All the staff from senior management down knew her name and would speak to her when passing, happily allowing her to 'assist'
them in their duties. I was always informed about her health and any activities she had enjoyed. Sadly she died in December and during that period both of us received amazing care and compassion, making a very difficult time much easier. I would totally recommend this home to anyone needing residential care.

My dad has been living at Whittle Hall for just over a week now he seems to be settling in well. As his dementia journey has progressed and after spending 13 months at a different nursing home he now needs dementia plus care.
I think all the staff at Whittle Hall are doing an amazing job everyone I
have met so far has been extraordinarily good at their job, staying calm and professional in difficult situations. They treat all of the residents with respect and dignity.
It really does have a home from home feel about it.

After three years of caring for my dad with dementia, decisions had to be made, not just for Dad but for ourselves too, care and nursing homes are a conversation none of us ever wish to have. After visiting many homes, all were only too happy to except Dad, they still didn't seem right, some seemed
too loud, the view was not good, some were overwhelmingly busy with staff seemingly confused, and the decor was of a military presence. Until we had the privilege of an invitation to Kitwood House, this place was another level of care, walking through the door and talking to staff that has a passion for care, a passion for cleanliness, and most of all they instantly gained a passion for my dad. Now a resident here since May 2024 and he loves it, nothing is any tougher than leaving a loved one in a care home but "seriously I could not be happier." Food and drink, personal hygiene, medication, and activities are all carried out professionally on a regular schedule, and the staff are simply the best.

Friendly environment for residents and family members. Very clean rooms and beds are nicely made up.
Laundry department take charge of belongings very well. Nothing seems to go missing. Some items of clothing may need to be ironed though. Mum has been at Gainsborough for many years and in previous
years everything was ironed nicely. I appreciate it must be a very busy department and they do well really. Unit can sometimes be noisy and the bussers/alarms can be piercingly loud in some areas. Every member of staff is always so very helpful and approachable. We are very happy with Gainsborough House. Home has started sending out a newsletter, nice to read.

Another fun and fabulous afternoon spent with my father-in-law at Kitwood. The power of music! It’s such a delight to see the happiness on all their faces. It's days like this which are made so much more special and create precious memories which we will always treasure.
The Pink Ladies should be
renamed the “Pink Angels”. They are so creative, their attention to detail shines through in all they do. They are thoughtful, kind, and caring. They make such a difference to all the residents. They truly are incredible. Not taking anything away from the rest of the team. Kitwood House certainly have a dedicated, loyal and hardworking team which makes Kitwood truly stand out from any other care home. We feel very fortunate we have found our father-in-law a special home where he is cared for so well, where it feels like he's with “real family “ rather than staff doing a job. Each and every one of the team always goes that extra mile to make a difference, nothing is ever too much trouble.

I want to commend the amazing staff who work on the Matisse Unit. My husband is cared for as if he were their family member.
Nothing is too much trouble and not only do they care about him, but they support and help me to understand and deal with the difficulties that Alzheimer’s disease can bring.
The quality of care, the surroundings, the menu, and many activities that are tailored personally towards the residents are all outstanding.
I wouldn't want my husband to be cared for anywhere else.
