Mum has been at Bluegrove for 18 months. She was well looked after, carers were very good, kind, respectful of her and her dignity. Yes, she had some down days, sadly many now have dementia, mum didn't and she struggled with that, communication-wise.

From the office staff to the day carers I always found them very helpful and sorted any queries promptly. Thank you all.

My Mum has not been here long but up to now, I'm very happy with Bluegrove care home. My mum seems to have settled in and is looked after very well. l find all the staff very friendly and very helpful.
I think the garden needs tidying up not sure if they have a gardener? and hopefully can get rid of the mice l have seen them in my mum's room a lot.

But very happy.

Every time I have visited Bluegrove House the staff has been friendly, professional and very accommodating. My dad is always clean, well dressed and seems happy in his new environment. Due to Covid-19, we were not able to set up or visit the room, however, the staff sent us a video of the room via email that was very reassuring. Thanks to everyone for their help with this difficult transition.

Came up from Sussex to visit a friend. Inital impression was good - no smell, bright and welcoming reception and helpful staff. Our friend's room was spacious, clean and with plenty of family photographs displayed around the room. Our friend looked well, was dressed in appropriate and clean clothes - he seemed quite content. A real effort had been made to make everywhere bright and welcoming - liked the butterflies along the corridors. The staff were all friendly and helpful.

Yesterday, with two friends, I visited my brother-in-law. Previously I telephone to make enquired with regards to visiting and directions, both times the staff answering were warm, polite and helpful.
On arrival to Bluegrove, our first impression was 'no care/nursing home smell' as many other homes we have visited. The reception by staff was warm and welcoming, a member of staff readily showed us to where my relative was sitting.
I can only review what I experienced hence some n/a on the form. I can, however, readily say how impressed I was with the whole set up. The decor was pleasant all over and lovely little extras like the butterflies on the walls, curtains that you would like in your own home not bog-standard. Safety features encountered were good e.g. coded doors at the top of the stairs, smoking equipment supervised and not allowed in resident's rooms. Our relatives bedroom was a nice size, clean, well equipped and again no unpleasant odours. Above all the staff we met were so caring.

My overall opinion is that Bluegrove has a happy atmosphere that provides a home for residents rather than a place to exist. We, as visitors, felt valued and welcomed.

The home is bright, clean and welcoming. There is a choice of sitting in the lounge with other residents or moving to the other one for some quiet time alone. We also like to walk around the garden together. The staff are always friendly and welcoming.

My husband has had four temporary stays at Bluegrove House. He seems very content and ready to stay. The staff are friendly and make him feel welcome. I do not know about the food and have only limited awareness of activities, although we enjoyed the Sunday lunch and entertainment.

The whole place always looks very clean and there is never an unpleasant smell.

For the period my aunty was at the home, she was treated with love and affection. Myself and my cousin dealing with staff found them cordial and professional. There was a constant update of aunty's condition and feedback was always welcome, which was acted upon.

I use the opportunity to thank you everyone - laundry - cleaning care, management - EVERYONE who contributed to aunty's care. Your efforts are truly appreciated and we are forever grateful for meeting such a wonderful bunch of people.

My Mother was made very welcome when she arrived. There is plenty of staff on duty and the Manager is very helpful. The staff show a personal interest in the resident's needs and what they like to do before in their lives and try to carry these on if possible. My Mu is always clean and tidy and her room and bathroom is always spotless. The food is good and there's always fresh fruit in the TV lounge.

Overall Experience

My father-in-law moved to Bluegrove recently and the change in him has been amazing to witness! He is more confident, happier, feels safe and secure and is interacting well with other residents and staff alike. He's now eating three meals a day, sleeping well and taking care of himself whereas before he would forget or refuse to eat. The staff have been amazing and there always seems to be some activity going on which he gets involved in. His room is spacious and we've been able to move some furniture in so it looks and feels more like a bedsit than a room in a care home. He has an ensuite including a shower so he has privacy. The home itself is well laid out with a number of different areas for guests including a wonderful lounge area complete with piano, bird and fish. There is also easy access to a lovely (and secure) garden. This layout gives the sense of freedom as guests can move from one area to another and aren't just sitting in one room all day (unless they prefer to).

Both my parents have been in Bluegrove for just under two years. My family is very happy with the care they receive and feel they are safely and respectfully looked after. They have different needs and the staff handle these with kindness and patience with all aspects of their daily life and personal care.

All their health needs whether urgent or minor are attended promptly and the staff call us to update us as soon as they have any information about changes to their health.

The general areas of the home are very comfortable and staff welcoming and helpful. They run events during the year for families to join residents at BBQ's, Christmas events or regular resident meetings to voice any concerns and to generally be involved in their family's care and life to make it as comfortable as possible.
