I am very pleased my mother has moved into the home, all staff are polite and welcoming, easy to approach to discuss concerns, my mother has dementia and arthritis which has affected her mobility in getting around, she can be extremely rude and challenging but staff have been extremely patient and caring
to support her, they report to you straight away about any falls or issues and always there to support family members. Thank you all.

Bluegrove has a lovely welcoming family feel whenever I visit (5 or 6 times a week).
Every member of staff shows kind care to my friend and other residents.
My friend moved into Bluegrove last month and is finding it very difficult to adjust. The staff have been so kind in helping my friend to settle
and are constantly looking at ways to help her join in with activities and mix with others, with great patience!
The Jubilee Weekend was fantastic. My friend enjoyed the afternoon tea gathering on Thursday and then on Friday lunch. I was invited to enjoy another celebration. The place was full of flags and bunting, loads of tasty food served to us, and lively music, dancing and sing-along songs. It was such a beautiful day, and many of us were out in the garden. Staff were continually including those who seemed on their own, and took hands and walked around the garden to settle some residents. Total fun, along with total care. So huge thanks to a wonderful team of staff.

My mum has dementia and can't be at home. She needs 24-hour care. Bluegrove gives her reassurance, comfort and care. The staff are caring, understanding and professional. The manager is approachable, fair and accommodating. I am relieved my mum is looked after.

Bluegrove has cared for my aunt for a long time. They have managed her dementia in a kind and sympathetic way as I know my aunt can be very difficult. The staff and management have always had their client's best interests at heart. I cannot thank them enough.

The friend that I visit is very frail. The staff are kind, friendly and caring and my friend appreciates that very much. When there have been any health issues quick attention has been taken to ensure appropriate medical treatment. My friend also enjoys the social and other events organised. The room
decor could be improved.

My nan has recently moved into Bluegrove, and I am so impressed with the experience so far. She has dementia, and she has some behaviour which is hard to manage at times, but the staff have been so accommodating, understanding and welcoming. The facilities are clean and well kept. Lots of activities
and opportunities to engage with other residents.
Staff have put the effort into getting to know her individual needs and seem to know her character well, even in the short time that she’s been there.
I was worried that moving her into a care home would simply replace the anxiety of her being at home alone with the stress of whether she is being looked after well - this has not been the case, and I feel confident she is getting the care she needs.

My mum who has dementia has settled into Bluegrove extremely well with the help of all the staff. Her key worker has been so helpful, patient and understanding. We are so pleased with how mum is getting on. We knew this was going to be a hard process but thanks to the staff they have made this so much
easier for us as a family, knowing how well she is being cared for.

My mum has been at Bluegrove House for just over a month and has settled in very well. She has a lovely room and is well cared for. The staff are very attentive and nothing is too much trouble. Staff are always available to talk to and if they can’t help or answer particular questions they will find
someone who can. During visits, she always tells us how nice the staff are. She has already made friends with other resident's and enjoys their time together in the tv lounge and at mealtimes.

Our mum has been at Bluegrove for over a year now as she has dementia. Yesterday mum had a bit of a dip and was extremely confused, upset and distressed. I feel like I need to write this review as I can honestly say that the care and support that was given to my mum and me yesterday evening was
so lovely. I am not sure if a can name the staff who supported my mum but they know who they are and they were truly wonderful and cannot thank them enough.

My Aunt has been in the care of Bluegrove for many years now and is probably their longest serving resident. They are a very caring team and continue to look after her extremely well. As I live such a distance away, it is very reassuring to know that she is in safe hands.

My friend has been living in Bluegrove House for just over 6 months. We are satisfied with the care which she receives. Her room is very pleasant, clean and comfortable and so are the communal areas. Food is freshly prepared on the premises and it is tasty and of good quality. My friend particularly
enjoys Bluegrove House parties and loves dancing to music. Thank you to all staff for looking after her!

My father has been extremely happy since been in the care home. He is well cared for, the staff are friendly and take good care of him. Blue Grove Home is very clean and tidy. My father did not have an appetite when he moved in and had lost tremendous weight. Now he has a good appetite and has gained
weight. He has made friends with the other resident and the staff loves him. He enjoys playing dominos with the staff to keep him entertained. I was so impressed that Father’s Day was celebrated by the care home. I am happy we chose Blue Grove House would recommend 100%.

Mum has been at Bluegrove for 18 months. She was well looked after, carers were very good, kind, respectful of her and her dignity. Yes, she had some down days, sadly many now have dementia, mum didn't and she struggled with that, communication-wise.
From the office staff to the day carers I always
found them very helpful and sorted any queries promptly. Thank you all.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.756)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.756) out of 10 for Bluegrove House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 20 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.756 for Bluegrove House is calculated as follows: ( (183 Excellents x 5) + (52 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 238 Ratings = 4.756
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bluegrove House is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 48 registered maximum number of service users is 9.6, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
