My mother (96) has been resident in Lyle House since November 2017, she has now settled in which took a little time but she is there now and is being cared for by the staff which have been looking after her needs. In the past, she was living in her one-bedroom council flat at the hands of her carers who sometimes did or did not turn up, giving or not giving her food and medication. Now at Lyle House, this is always being done with the love and care by the majority of the carers, whenever I have visited my mother, her room is immaculate and clean.
My mother in the first months needed doctors and nurses which were always there for her, I feel she is in the right place for her care and attention.

I must say, asking to have her looked after by a care home, was hard at first, but the right thing to do for my mum.

Upon secured entry, you are met with a friendly receptionist and/or homes manager who is always available to answer any questions. The carers are always polite and keep you informed how your relative is doing. There always seem to be cleaners working and all areas are clean and tidy. As a frequent visitor, the standards of excellence are consistent.

Lyle House is kind and caring. Staff took the time to get to know my mother, and connected well with her.

She was happy, comfortable and safe. During her last month, December, utmost support and kindness was offered to her and to myself and my sister. I am glad we were able to place Mom at Lyle House.

The staff at Lyle House are always welcoming and the care they give to my mother is very good. I am kept informed of important issues related to her health and her key worker always takes the time to check that I am aware of everything related to her care.
The food is good and my mother says that she enjoys the choices on offer.

The standard of cleanliness is very high and my mother always looks clean and well presented - something she would not do if she was at home.

The Home is bright, clean and welcoming. All the staff that we have come in contact with are friendly. They are also caring and attentive towards the residents which is our top priority. The activities do seem to have improved and the staff, some of which we have not met before so presume are fairly new, only added to the happy atmosphere.

The manager and her team provided great care for my mother. They were very welcoming and caring making sure my mother was comfortable and happy, my mother is naturally anxious and this was her first time away from her own home. The team ensured she was comfortable and helped her make friends with the other residents. My mother settled in very quickly. The team also upheld the home's standards very well, keeping me informed at all times and taking prompt action when needed. The home itself is clean and bright and a very calm environment.

Since the home was taken over by a new provider there has been many changes with staff leaving and recruitment appeared difficult, this agency staff have been employed which can affect the continuity of care and the greater understanding of residents. Staff very kind and thoughtful and have looked after my father well and have a keen understanding of dementia care. My family are happy with the care my father receives and trust their knowledge and judgement - all are most supportive. Home manager and all staff are professional, approachable and thoughtful. Laundry staff are lovely and very helpful. Maintenance i.e. curtains etc. little slow in responding to repairs.
