The welcome at Norton House was excellent, the ensuing rapport with all the staff was equally warm, respectfully caring and personable at all times. The general atmosphere in this care home was one of peaceful contentment, cordial sociability at all levels and very civilized.

One remark only: Should a resident require a night district nurse, it is important to inform the person closest to him/her on the outset that special medical care is not at hand.

My wife came a fortnight ago. I have visited half a dozen times and had a meal twice. The staff are friendly and very willing to provide help and service in any way. My wife is shown kindness and respect and has settled in easily as a result. The home provides a wide range of activities which compliment the very high standard of care and professional and attentive conduct of the staff.

The food is of a good standard.

I never cease to be impressed with everything about Norton House; atmosphere, the decor, facilities and, most importantly, the wonderful care my friend receives from the staff. Norton House, in my opinion, is a fantastic care home and we are so fortunate that my friend has residency here. Thank you to all concerned, most sincerely.

The facility is very modern and has excellent equipment. My mother has been allocated a new electric sitting chair and a new mattress.

She has very good relationships with the staff who are very kind and caring.

I have been a regular visitor to my friend during the four months she has been in the care home. Following a stroke, she spent two months in hospital and then came to the care home for further rehabilitation/recovery with the intention that she should eventually return to her own home. She has been in the care home for four months now and has made good albeit slow progress. I think her mobility would benefit from more proactive encouragement and help to walk at regular intervals throughout the day. She would probably also enjoy some of the activities programmes if she could be persuaded to join in. But she is comfortable in her room and very happy with the care she is receiving. From what I have seen during my visits, the carers are kind and competent. All the staff are very friendly to residents and visitors alike. The home is always warm and there is a peaceful atmosphere.

The staff at Norton House are unfailingly courteous, kind and capable. It has been extremely reassuring to know that my mother has been so well looked after in such a warm and caring environment. Always bright and spotlessly clean, it is extremely well run and a pleasure to visit.

My aunt has now been at Norton House for almost a year. When she arrived she was very nervous and frightened, after several falls at home. Very quickly she settled into the home and began to feel safe. The staff always treat her with professionalism and sympathy and have helped her to feel relaxed and take much more interest in life. She has recently started to participate in some of the activities which is a great step forward. I am delighted with the home and would definitely recommend.

Both times I have visited my father was having lunch. The staff were very attentive and kind to him and the food was very good. The dining room was comfortable and warm. Personally, I found all the staff very welcominge; they made every effort to make me feel welcome. I felt very sure that my father was receiving excellent care.

The building is well kept and the residents seem to be able to be involved with a lot of different activities if they choose.

In good weather, it is positive to be outside. The care seems to be well and carefully undertaken. The location of the home is good too, near to public transport for visiting and plenty of taxis.

My Mum, my Auntie and I had all visited friends in Norton House in the past, and were impressed. My Auntie has been living in this very pleasant care home for a couple of weeks now. The welcome on her arrival from hospital was exceptional. All the staff I've met are very cheerful, always greeting with a smile and saying hello. The manager inspires confidence and calm. My auntie became ill again, and the night staff handled her admission to hospital very well. My Auntie says that she is very pleased to be back here now. Her friends and visiting medical staff exclaim that they like her hotel room!

Norton House has the best atmosphere of any care home I have experienced and I have known many. Three things have set it apart.
The staff are unfailingly kind and smile in the face of frequent provocation. I have heard some touching conversations but never an angry word.
The staff treat each resident as an individual and recognise their personality and interests. They listen and remember.
Staff take care to ensure residents keep their dignity. The staff are all interesting people not just transactional carers. It is a delight talking with them.

All this goodness must come from able management and a robust recruitment process. Thank You
