Davids House

I am very impressed with everything at David's House. The staff are delightful, and my aunt has definitely flourished there in spite of her incredible age and the rise of the Covid lockdown.

We never once regretted our decision to choose David's House to care for our almost-92-year-old mother. She lived there for three years and was always understood and valued as a unique individual.

Visiting from overseas for the first time. Very impressed by the staff, their knowledge and their concern for the residents. The facility was clean, bright and welcoming.

I didn’t know David’s House existed and wanted my mum to go into a different care home nearer to where I lived. However, there were no spaces available so the local authority suggested David’s House. My mum has been a resident there since August now and I’m so glad she’s there. She’s happy and is very well looked after. Mum’s even managed to put on 3kg since being a resident, which is great news and very reassuring as she was getting too skinny and frail whilst at home. I now wouldn’t consider any other care home for her as she loves the staff and has a laugh with them and is so well looked after. Even the non-nursing staff are great and such a help.

The staff at David's House have looked after my 92-year-old mother who suffers from vascular dementia for the past five years. The care she received was excellent and I would recommend this care home to anyone looking for this type of care.

I have found the staff to be helpful and caring, going the extra mile to make residents feel comfortable at home.

My experience of David's House Care Home over the last eighteen months has been strongly affected by Covid-19 and the consequent restrictions placed on care homes. Throughout, the staff have been helpful in setting up Zoom calls with the resident, which has shown us that she has remained in good shape, contented and her usual friendly self. This was confirmed a few days ago when we were able to visit her in person. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, helpful in enabling the visit and David's House was, as before Covid, clean, fresh and homely. I remain very thankful that the resident is being cared for in David's House.

All staff are friendly and cheerful, and that gives such a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. Since refurbishment communal areas and bedrooms are bright and colourful, but homely. Cleanliness is maintained to a high standard. With just 30 residents, the care home is a reasonable size to enable management and staff to understand needs and care so well. This care is conducted with gentleness, accompanied by a quiet and efficient team spirit that gives confidence and reassurance to relatives and friends.

I was recommended this home for respite care and I haven't been disappointed. We met the care home manager on a Zoom call to assess suitability and we were pleased with the amount of information required from us and given about the home. On arrival, we were shown to the room, which was spotlessly clean and well furnished. One of the carers came to ask my husband to join them for a music session, which he loved. Without exception, all staff are friendly and helpful and pay attention to the needs of the individual. We have now used the home for two separate periods. On collecting my husband, he was on a high and had clearly benefited from the numerous organised activities. After my husband had a fall, the home was able to take him for a day, to allow me to take my brother on a previously organised trip. The one thing I recommend is labelling all clothing to make it easy to reunite clothes with the owner. In conclusion, I recommend this home, which I will definitely use in the future.

Physical needs are well met with frequent visits by relevant professionals (dentist, chiropodist etc.)

Lovely, warm and caring staff in a calm environment with arts facilities and daily entertainment and activities.

I am extremely pleased with everything I encountered during my visits to see Dad at David's House, Harrow, Middlesex. Dad is happy and comfortable. The staff go out of their way to ensure his needs and wants are catered for. He couldn't be in a better place. I was also treated exceptionally well. The staff are so kind, friendly, professional and caring, wonderful.

My Mother in Law has been very settled and enjoyed being at the home for 4 years. Her mental and physical health has deteriorated, but she is still being looked after very well. There has been a change of staff over the last year which has made a lot of a difference in the way staff communicate if there is anything that my Mother in Law needs in terms of clothing, toiletries etc. The staff do a great job, working with this client/resident group, which is not always a smooth task.

All staff are caring and attentive. My resident cousin is happy at David's House and appears to be very well fed.

Facilities and services (eg., hairdresser) are very much appreciated. I have not visited at meal times, so cannot comment on the quality of food, although published menus seem varied.

A superb care home providing excellent care especially dementia sufferers. All residents are always clean and well presented. There are lots of activities for them to take part in. The meals are well cooked, nutritional and presented nicely. The staff are all amazingly kind and really look after the residents.

We were impressed by the warm, friendly and homely atmosphere from our first visit. My mother has been a resident for six weeks, and her well-being has improved. Staff make a real effort to engage with her, and all of the residents. David’s House feels like a family home, and we feel that this has helped her to settle and adjust to life there.

She also enjoys the variety of food and excellent fresh meals prepared daily by the chef and team.

Attended a resident/friend's 90th birthday. The staff made us very welcome from the moment we arrived early afternoon. Shortly after our arrival and meeting our resident/friend, the staff started preparing one half of the lounge for a birthday party. The chef brought in a beautiful cake, especially baked and iced and tables were laid for the special celebration tea. During the celebrations, the staff were very attentive to everyone's needs. A most happy occasion which our resident friend thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you to everyone at David's House.

My mother moved into David's House 2 months ago. From the start, she and we were impressed with the warm, welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Having looked at other care homes this was the one my mother thought best suited her needs. We were amazed at how quickly she settled in.

She finds the staff friendly and helpful, the food good and her room comfortable. The staff work as a team to treat residents as individuals, understanding and responding to their different interests and needs. My mother's regular visitors have all commented on how well she seems. They are always greeted by the staff with a smile and made to feel welcome.

Music plays a big part in making for a cheerful atmosphere and to help the residents, particularly those with dementia, remember past times.
