My husband been at fives oakes care home just under 2 years.
He has setteled very well. On a few occasions he had to be away from the care home due to sickness, it is very clear on his return from his facial expression and interaction with staff, he was happy to be be back in his familiar surroundings.
My experience with care staff and management is warm and friendly, but if I need to address concerns I find them to be approachable and professional .
I feel comfortable as times passes leaving my husband in their care and thank God for the service.
Hyacinth.
Thank you so much, Hyacinth, for taking the time to share such a heartfelt review.
We are delighted to hear that your husband has settled so well at Five Oaks and that he feels comfortable and happy returning to his familiar surroundings. It means a great deal to us to know that he has developed...
Moving to Five Oaks has been a complete change from independent living for my Mother which has been handled professionally and empathetically.
Thank you very much for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback. We are delighted to hear that your mother has settled well at Five Oaks and that you feel her move from independent living has been handled professionally and with empathy.
We are particularly pleased to hear that our...
The senior staff are very good and responsive to feedbacks.
There is some improvements that can be made to the service staff especially concerning meal times. I believe a little more care is needed in responding to residents who are not eating.
A simpatetic attitude is needed to explore why residents are not eating.
Another matter where improvement can be made is when the imobile residents need to be transferred from wheelchairs to the settee/sofa. In many occasions there isn't carers available to do this especially after meal times.
He is getting used to his hotel as he calls it.
Gets on with the staff.
Any queries or questions have always been dealt with swiftly by management
My only comment is I think more care staff are needed sometimes they struggle with needs of patients when there's not enough.
I would especially like to thank everybody involved with the summer fete on 11th July. The food and entertainment was top class. A big thankyou to everybody.
Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review.
We are delighted to hear that your mum has been receiving such good care at Five Oaks. Your lovely comments mean a great deal to our entire team.
We're especially pleased that you enjoyed our Summer Fete on 11th July. It was a wonderful...
It was difficult for her at first but the care home manager took a great interest in her and did her best over this time to help her settle in. The staff are generally attentive but the problem with all care homes is that a resident can't have "on-demand" attention all of the time. It's impossible. But the great thing about Five Oaks is that there are two lounges which are next to each other and there are loads of staff there all the time. So whilst they might be busy, if you need urgent attention you can get it. (We did compare Five Oaks with another local care home that had several smaller lounges, but this meant that staff were spread more thinly across the site.).
There is a choice of food but, to be honest, it's of a standard you might expect where you are doing mass catering on a budget.
Family & friends can come in at any time, without feeling that they are in the way.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and balanced review. We're delighted to hear that your mother has settled in well over the past 18 months, and we're especially pleased that our team were able to support her through those early days.
We really appreciate your...
My mum has been in Five Oaks for around 17 months now and she's very happy there. She has a lovely room which overlooks the gardens. The staff are lovely and work so hard.I have found Rahima very friendly and helpful and she will always respond to any questions I have almost immediately. She also sends me little videos of Mum dancing which the whole family appreciate. We had concerns about Mum's weight when she arrived, but the Home has kept her on a diet and she has been losing weight which we're all very happy about. Mum has full mental capacity and finds the weekends quiet because there aren't any activities going on. However, during the week there are some very good activities particularly the singing and the dancing and Mum loves it when the little children visit. Finally, a nice touch would be when visitors have travelled from far away to come and see residents they are offered a a tea or coffee. Overall we are very happy with the care home.
Thank you for your lovely review and for sharing your experience. Were so pleased to hear that your mum is happy at Five Oaks and enjoying the activities, especially the singing, dancing, and visits from the children.
Your kind words about our team, particularly Rahima, mean a great deal and...
Five Oaks was my mum's home for over 7 years from November 2018 - March 2026. I always felt like it was my home too. She had many happy times over the years at parties, celebrations and events. The staff as a team do everything they can to keep the residents well, clean, fed, dignified, comfortable and entertained. I have to commend the current Manageress, Deputy Manageress, senior staff, all of the carers and every other member of staff for how they cared for my mum and me at the end of her life. They all went above and beyond the call of duty. My mum was handled with such tender, gentle, loving care and so was I. Their approach was personal and professional which helped to cushion my unbearable loss. I was made to feel like Five Oaks was losing two family members. A beautiful celebration of her life and antics was held at Five Oaks where I was able to thank the entire team from house keeping, the chef and his team, the kind carers to the incredible Managers for everything they do.
Thank you so much for sharing such a heartfelt tribute to your mum and her time at Five Oaks. It was a privilege to be part of her life for so many years, and to support you both, especially towards the end of her journey. We're deeply touched by your words and incredibly proud of our team from...
We are so happy that he has settled in really well and that the staff are there for him and for us if we need to ask anything.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It means a great deal to us that you entrusted us with your fathers care. Were delighted to hear he has settled in so well, and we will continue to support both him and your family with the same warmth, care, and dedication.
I am very grateful to all the staff at Five Oaks for the care and compassion shown to my husband throughout his stay. It was a very hard decision to move him to a care home when I could no longer manage his needs at home. The staff made the place welcoming and feel like home for both of us. Free visits at any time were a key part of this. Whenever there was an issue I was heard with compassion and they always made an effort to solve it. They clearly cared about all their residents. I am reassured that we chose the right care home for him
Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and heartfelt review. We know how difficult the decision to move a loved one into a care home can be, and we are truly honoured that you entrusted Five Oaks with your husband's care.
Our team is deeply grateful for your kind words...
The care shown by the staff and manager/deputy manager has been attentive and compassionate . My mother has Parkinson's. She has visited 4 care homes in the area for respite care and this is by far the best. I trusted that Mum was in safe hands. It feels like a family at the home. Staff always greet you with a smile. I was stuck to make a decision about whether Mum should stay long term or to take her home and care for her a little longer. The manager was really supportive in answering my questions. We will choose Five Oaks for respite and a long term space in 2026. Mum said she enjoyed it at the hotel!
Thank you for your kind review. Were delighted to hear that you and your mother felt safe, supported, and welcomed during her stay with us. Supporting people living with Parkinsons with compassion and dignity is very important to our team, and it means a lot to know you felt confident in our...
Happy all round.
Placing my mum in a care home due to her progressing dementia was one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make, but Five Oaks has given me true peace of mind. The home is warm, clean, and welcoming, with spacious rooms, en-suite bathrooms, and a beautiful, well-kept garden. The staff are consistently attentive, kind, and caring. My mum has been at Five Oaks for over a month, and the level of care has been excellent. Each resident has an individual care plan that all staff can access, and whenever I visit, my mum is always clean, comfortable, and well presented. There are regular activities, outings, and events to keep residents engaged, and visiting is completely flexible - family can come anytime, and staff are always friendly and accommodating. It's also easy to get updates over the phone. Five Oaks has made an incredibly difficult situation much easier, and I'm genuinely grateful for the wonderful care my mum receives. Highly recommended.

Fatima one of the managers who made our transition into the home so easy and stress free. She went out of her way to help me in every aspect of the difficult process.

We were very happy with the care my dad received. Staff always seemed the engage with the residents on a real level with genuine care. The home is exceptionally clean and there always seemed to be lots of staff on duty.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We're truly grateful that you took the time to share your experience. It means a lot to know that your dad felt well cared for and that our teams efforts to provide genuine, compassionate support were evident. We take great pride in maintaining a clean,...
She is a very visible and hands-on manager - always happy to help relatives and ready to listen. What stands out most is that she's not just there for the residents, but also for their families and friends. My family and I found it really difficult adjusting to the idea of our mum living in a care home, but Rahima has made that transition so much easier.
Whenever we call, we get a clear update on how our mum is doing, and we often receive pictures and videos that give us peace of mind. Her communication is excellent, and it's clear she genuinely cares.
Rahima is everything you'd hope for in a manager - approachable, compassionate, and always available to support both residents and their loved ones. She's truly made a world of difference.
Thank you so much for your heartfelt review. We're thrilled to hear how much of a difference has been made at Five Oaks and how supported you and your family feel. Your kind words mean a great deal to us and will be shared with the whole team. We're so pleased your mum is doing in well it's truly a privilege to care for her.
Putting Dad into temporary care was the hardest decision we've ever had to make, but Five Oaks has been a blessing. From the moment we visited, the staff were so warm and welcoming, and we knew Dad would feel comfortable here. The grounds are lovely and the atmosphere is always friendly, but it's the staff that make this place so special. They truly care, treating each resident as an individual and bringing out their personalities. After months in hospital, Dad had lost weight and was low in spirits, but since being here he's regained weight, become more chatty, and we've seen him laugh again - it feels like we have our old dad back. The management team - three of them - have been incredible, always supportive and approachable, and we feel total trust in them. We can't thank everyone enough for giving Dad dignity, joy, and comfort, and for giving us peace of mind.
Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful words. We understand how incredibly difficult it can be to make the decision to place a loved one in care, and we're truly honoured that you chose Five Oaks to support your dad and your family during this time.It means the world to us to hear that your...
My father needed to enter respite care during July 2025 and attended Five Oaks for one week. After elaving my parents decided that he should attend full time. Unfortunately this did not work out (he was mentally affected by being parted from my mother). I cannot fault the level of care he received, the kindness of the staff, the quality of the site and building and the efficiency of the administration. If we are unable to make alternative arrnagements we woudl certainly use Five Oaks again. My only slight criticism was that the food was very bland for someone used to fairly spicy food. Quite importantly the cost was very reaosnable too.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us. Were truly grateful that you entrusted Five Oaks with your fathers care during his respite stay in July. Were sorry to hear that full-time care didnt work out as hoped, but we completely understand how important it is for...
The team at Five Oaks are caring and compassionate. They cared for my father for over 18 months in his final stages of vascular dementia with limited mobility. The choice to place a loved one in care is extremely challenging but Five Oaks provides a social environment with experienced, genuine staff and a superb management team. Beautiful gardens, nice bedrooms, good communication are particular highlights. I cannot express my thanks to both the core day & night team for how they supported both me and my lovely Dad at the end of his life.
Thank you so much for your heartfelt review. We are truly honoured that you entrusted us with your fathers care during such a sensitive and important time in his life.Supporting residents and their families through the final stages of life is something we approach with deep compassion and respect....
From the moment we walked into Five Oaks I knew it was the perfect place for my mum. The staff were very welcoming and polite as well as diligent and committed to caring for the residents. My mum loves it here she has made many friends and feels very at home. Its honestly the happiest she has been in years! I hope they are able to continue meeting her needs as I cannot envisage her being anywhere else. The best thing about Five Oaks is the way they consistently strive to improve the residents quality of life, day in and day out. Five Stars *****
