Overall, I am very happy with the care home and my mum has settled in extremely well here. The care staff are very sweet, effcient, helpful and kind. A few, however, are not very "warm" with the residents and do not interact very much with them other than doing the basics. The receptionist lady is lovely and so helpful and makes such a big difference to families.
My mum really enjoys her meals at Parkview and she looks very well. I do think that there should be more activities including singers, maybe dancers, entertainment trips to the coast? On a much more regular basis.
I think the staff are very helpful, friendly and look after the residents well.
Mum had several short stays in Parkview for respite care, enjoyed her stays and was happy to return there as opposed to other care homes we had tried. We had at last found a "care home" that actually put an emphasis on care and where staff seem to work together alongside management.
Mum, unfortunately, broke her hip a year ago and needed 24hr care. Parkview found her a ground floor room, covered the hospital transition and supported her recovery needs while she was immobile, eventually getting her back on her feet. Mum's dementia, unfortunately, advanced quite quickly so she stayed on. She has been looked after very well and her changing needs taken into account.
Parkview staff are fantastic. Staff turnover seems to be low, allowing relationships to be built with residents as opposed to high attrition/contract staff I met in other homes. They are friendly and attentive to residents wants and needs. Mum is always dressed well, clean and happy when I visit, regardless of time of day. Mum certainly enjoyed the day activities last year, the seaside trip last summer was amazing and events such as the music entertainment days help bring visitors into the home.
I'm always kept in touch as to what has been happening.
Clean rooms, activities on offer to whomsoever wants them and food served on time every day to establish a healthy routine. Well done.
In my opinion, Park View is a pleasant and happy environment. We are pleased with the level of personal care and the staff are caring and friendly. There seems to be enough to entertain the residents (quizzes, puzzles, skittles etc) to keep their minds active (I wonder if there could be a little more ie more frequently?). The hairdressing salon and visits from the masseur an the chiropodist are good for her well being.
Thank you for your feedback! We are happy to hear that you are pleased with the level of care and staffing. We really appreciate your thoughts and would like to reassure you that we have appointed a new Activities Coordinator whom has now produced and is implementing a new Activities plan for all...
The purpose built modern care home is surrounded by beautiful well-maintained gardens. It is ideally situated next to a public park with excellent transport facilities and a large range of shops close by. There is space for visitor parking and the staff are well-trained, caring and sensitive to individual needs. Accommodation and food (choice of menu) are excellent. An activity coordinator has recently been appointed and safety and medication are well organised. A recent change of manager has seen further improvements.
If I had to say one thing that is they need more activities.
Thank you for your response Loraine! We are really happy your mother in law is happy and settled here. Parkview now have a new member of staff managing activities therefor hope for this to change immediately. We have a new activities record placed in reception and would like to invite you to any of the upcoming events that have been put on to put your mind at ease in the future.
Management are always extremely helpful. There are many varied activities laid on and the person who does activities (I.e colouring, painting, reading etc) always tries to tailor them to the resident's needs and has a nice manner with the residents.
