Everyone takes very good care of my mum, which gives me peace of mind. My mother loves the chef and his food. She's looked after very well. I go there daily and see her clean and content. The few times when she wasn't well, it was arranged for her to go to hospital. The staff are always friendly.
It was very nice for you to give us a nice review. We will pass this our teams, who will delighted to hear this positive feedback. Best regards.
My nan has been in the care of the wonderful staff at Torkington House for just over a year now. She is happy, healthy, and very well looked after, and this is all you can ask for. The standard of care here is excellent. We were so glad to have found Torkington House and as time goes on, we appreciate it even more!
Many thanks for your positive feedback for the Torkington team and this is greatly appreciated. It is our pleasure to look after such a lovely resident and we appreciate the ongoing support from you and your family. Best regards from all of us at Torkington House.
A friend recommended Torkington House. I had the opportunity for respite for Mum for 2 weeks and I grasped it after having a look round the home and meeting the staff. The staff are amazing so professional, caring and kind and you get the sense they want to make the experience for my Mum and myself to be the best it can be. They were so helpful to me and understanding of my need for a break. The home is very clean and smells good and Mum said the food was great. There are activities during the week; which all sounded good and varied. Mum enjoyed the singing. Pretty garden and rooms are very nice. Staff greet you cheerfully and when you leave it is the same, they cannot help you enough! Very impressed with this care home and we will continue to use their wonderful services. Thank you to all the staff.
Thanks very much for your amazing review. We really appreciated your feedback. Our team will be delighted to receive this positive review.
Kind Regards,
Sandeep
Me and my partner so much enjoyed ourselves and it was so lovely to see the residents enjoying themselves too. It’s lovely to see the Mayor being involved and showing their support.
Once again, a big thank you.
Thanks for your good review. We greatly appreciated this.
Kind Regards,
Sandeep
My father went in for respite care at Torkington House. He was very against leaving his own home and did not wish to be associated with the negative stigma of a care home. The staff made him feel very welcome and were very patient with his dementia care. After a few weeks of respite care, my father was crying because he did not want to leave, saying he got used to where he was. The manager facilitated a smooth transfer to a longer-term care facility nearer to my father's own home and us, making my father as comfortable as possible during the stay. Really great staff, who are managed well and low turnover of staff, which is not usual to see.
Thanks for your valuable feedback, which is greatly appreciated. We will certainly pass this on to our staff team.
Happy New Year.
Kind Regards,
Management team
My relative is very happy in Torrington, being waited on hand and foot by people he loves. Says he should have become a resident years earlier. Enjoys the overall atmosphere and independence with the overview of the managers and their teams. He talks about individual members of the team, whom I have never met, as friends. The care he has received, when under the weather, quite ill, just grumpy needing (not admitted) attention, is very kind, dignified and discreet. Torrington is an incredible place and gives me and my family a confident feeling that, no matter what, our relative is in very good hands. Thank you everyone.
Dear James, many thanks for the great review submitted. It meant a lot to us. I will definitely pass on your good feedback to our team. Thanks again, management team
Torkington House has been a home to my mother-in-law for the last three years. During this time she has received the most caring, loving and professional care. Everything has been made to meet her medical needs and make her comfortable. We, her family have also received huge support. The staff is happy to assist at any time always with a smile.
Dear Lucy, thank you so much for your positive feedback. This is greatly appreciated by the management and staff. This positive feedback always encourages the staff team to go the extra mile. Many thanks, management team.
Torkington House and every single member of staff from the manager to the lady who folds the washing outside my mum's room and chats to mum whilst she folds and puts away are just amazing human beings. They are attentive to the residents and most certainly to the guests. They know all our names and they always ask after each of our family members (non-residents) if they have not seen them that week. They tell me all the little funny things my mum has talked about and some of the little sad things mum talks about. My mum is waited on hand and foot and is positively spoilt. She is so very happy and content and that is a huge relief to our family. I am so very lucky mum was offered a place here at Torkington House and will always be grateful to the manager and her entire fabulous team who go above and beyond the call of duty with all the residents.
Best regards,
Torkington Team.
The manager and the senior team run a tight ship but a fun one at the same time and the way they have all navigated the whole Covid lockdown over 2-years has been nothing short of inspirational. During this time, they became the friends, families and carers of our loved ones as we were not allowed to visit for such a long time and whilst this was undoubtedly difficult for all concerned, the level of care and empathy was obvious for all to see. Facilities are exceptional, from the reception area to resident bedrooms, all kept spotless and tidy and the food is prepared with pride. I know as Grandad has a great appetite! As a family, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend TH.
thanks again.
Best Regards.
My mum has advanced Alzheimers, consequently, she is very confused and frail. Despite this condition, the staff at Torkington House do their best to give her a good quality of life. Mum has a loving relationship with all of those who look after her and this means she is happy and content. Mum is always well presented her every need is taken care of. As relatives, despite these difficult COVID times, we are always made to feel welcome and encouraged to visit.
Dear Valerie, thank you so much for your lovely review. We greatly appreciate your kind comments and are delighted to hear that your Mum enjoys her stay at Torkington House. It's been our privilege to look after your Mum.
This home was recommended to us by friends and a care provider who had been looking after my mum when she was at home. Since arriving in the home, my mother has improved and looks so good. This is down to the care and attention she has received as the staff have looked after her better than we could ever imagine. Mum receives 24-hour care and we are constantly updated about her progress which is so assuring. Every detail is looked at by the staff and nothing is ever missed. Mum has 4 children who separately visit her every week, so we know this great care happens every day. She is always dressed lovely and her hair is always nice - something we could not always achieve when she was at home. The home is like visiting a friend’s house, you forget you are going into a care home. Her bedroom is lovely, homely, and clean. The dining room looks so inviting you would want to go in yourself. The garden is beautiful, and the kindness and hospitality of the staff make you want to come back every week.
Dear Mary, Thank you very much for your kind words. It's a privilege to care for your mum and we are delighted she enjoys her stay at Torkington House. We will share your lovely comments with our staff.
On arrival at Torkington House, my aunt was low in mood and her usual chatty and friendly disposition appeared lost. Understandably, this was a difficult period of adjustment moving into a home. My aunt now appears settled and I have seen her thrive over the months. My aunt laughs, smiles all the time and I just like to watch her friendly interaction with the team. Thank you to the manager and all the members of the team for their patience, thoughtfulness and care who have made this possible. I am kept up to date with all aspects of care (appointments, activities schedule provided for all residents, birthday celebrations) and the latest Covid Government guidelines ensuring that all residents are kept as safe as they can be and still ensuring that relatives are able to visit or speak to them by phone. Torkington House is on my speed dial. All that I can say is a massive ‘thank you’ to everyone for taking care of my aunt who is very dear to me. Best wishes.
Thank you Merilyn for your kind words. It's been a privilege to look after your aunt and we are delighted that she enjoys her stay at Torkington House.
My mother has been at Torkington House for 2 years now and recently had a fall in the middle of the night. The staff were excellent in dealing with the situation and did everything to help my mother. For the whole 2 years, they have been superb and I couldn't wish for more from them.
Thank you Patrick for your kind review and lovely comments. We will share them with our staff. It's been a real privilege to look after your mother.
Our Aunt has been with Torkington House now for just under a year, which has probably been one of the hardest years ever for the care sector with all the Covid restrictions. At all times, the home and its staff have kept families updated with news and events happening in the home. They have provided pictures, WhatsApp calls and telephone calls to our loved ones. Through this awful period, it was good to know that our aunt was in safe and caring hands. Thankfully, restrictions are easing and we are now able to take our aunt out to engage with her friends and family and she is always happy to return home at the end of the day. The staff at Torkington House have always been professional and caring and we look forward to getting to know them better when restrictions ease further.
Many thanks for your positive feedback. We will share this with the team. This positive feedback encourages the staff to always go that extra mile. - Sandeep Rajendran-
My mother was a former resident at Torkington House having been cared for there for a number of years. Due to her age and ongoing medical condition unfortunately she passed away in February. During my mother's time there I can say without any hesitation whatsoever that the care, warmth and dignity with which she was treated was evident throughout. Whilst I have always had nothing but the utmost praise for the staff, during my mother's last few months and as her needs became more acute, I really cannot find the words to express the gratitude I feel for the kindness, consideration and patience she was shown until the very end. It is obviously hard to see loved ones deteriorate and even harder still to lose a parent, however, the staff at Torkington helped to ease the burden from my family in ways that are incalculable. The very high standard of care is clearly set by Torkington's wonderful Manager, who is supported by equally wonderful management and staff teams.
Thank you very much Agnes. This means a lot to the Management and staff team at Torkington. Really appreciate.
My mum has been in this care home for over two years. She has been treated excellently with an outstanding level of care. I feel very reassured that she is in safe hands with carers who genuinely care about her. The care home is very close to my house, which means I'm able to visit her often. Every time I've visited, I've seen how all the staff deliver exceptional care regardless of what shift they're working on. They have never failed to impress me with how conscientious and kind they are to the residents. It gives me great comfort to know that when I'm not there; my mother is well looked after.
Thank you very much for lovely comments and submitting a review for us. It's such a pleasure to look after your mum at Torkington House, get to know you and your family.
Your support and help are always appreciated by our team at Torkington.
My mother has been at Torkington House for about a month. I am extremely happy with the care she receives. All the staff there are tremendous. They are kind and attentive.
Thank you very much for your kind words. We will share your review with our staff who will be delighted to hear how much their work is being appreciated.
My father moved into Torkington House in April following a fall at home and a spell in hospital. He was quite feeble and not in good health when he arrived but within a few weeks, he had improved markedly. This is down to the superb care and kindness of the staff under the supervision of the excellent manager and her team. While Dad is not exactly happy to be in a care home - he lived independently at home until he was nearly 101 years old - he knows that he is in a safe and secure environment with all his needs taken care of. Myself and my brother have no doubt that Dad couldn't be in a better place.
We really appreciate it. This means a lot to us to reflect the service we provide to our service users. We will continue to provide good care for your Dad at Torkington House.
I would not hesitate to recommend this care home to anyone and consider that we have been very fortunate to become part of the Torkington family. During the final months of my uncle's life, their compassion and kindness to both of us was astounding.
We need more people like them!
The family would like it recorded that we are very happy with the care our Uncle received. He wasn't always happy but he was secure, cared for and loved to the end.
