Having cared for my husband at home for so many years, I was delighted to find Henrietta House. I was drawn to them because of the friendly, extremely caring staff. It really is a home from home. I felt confident in the knowledge that my husband would be very well looked after which gave me peace of
mind.
Should I have any queries or questions there is always someone to talk to, and in return, they never hesitate to advise me of anything that they might be concerned about his well being. I cannot thank them enough.

A very friendly, homely place to be. Nothing is too much trouble and there are always staff around. Happy in the knowledge that Mum is warm and comfortable, safe and cared for.

As a stranger to Bedford, I was very impressed with the welcome I received in this lovely care home.
The staff are wonderful, even the cleaning ladies who always speak to me and make me feel good.
They should all be given platinum medals as they are all so special.

What a wonderful care home Henrietta House is.


When my Dad first came to stay here I was very sceptical, how wrong was I. He settled in very quickly and I could tell he really felt looked after. Whilst I do find it very sad watching my Dad deteriorating I feel comforted by the fact he is receiving

the very best care, from all the staff.


I cannot express my gratitude enough, but hopefully, this review will help.

Even with a huge amount of family support, my partner's mum couldn't cope at home any longer. We, therefore, had to find a care home suited to her personality and needs. Henrietta House was more like a home from the outset; making a surprise visit to the home, my partner saw a carer dancing with a resident
- it was all very natural and showed there was a genuine connection. After moving in the staff soon had my partner's mum back to her old self. In fact, an improved version - she willingly did some painting. I would have never believed it if I hadn't seen it. She won't ask for help so staff have to be very attentive without smothering her. Somehow they manage this. Consequently, her hospital visits have almost ceased and when a hospital admission is necessary, the stay is very short. All staff are always on the residents' agenda and visitors are always welcome.

After a protracted period in hospital my mum decided that she needed to be looked after 24/7. In looking to secure a home for my mum I visited several witnessing a range of options and qualities, most of which I felt were not suitable. From the moment I entered Henrietta House it felt like a home rather
than a residential care home and the happy, caring and positive vibe came over immediately. Whilst in hospital my mum had given up and emotionally she was in quite a bad place, within a couple of weeks the team at Henrietta House had turned things around and not only gave us our old mum back but a new improved person with a refreshed view on life. Mum had not only begun living again but was interacting with others including getting involved with craft sessions, quizzes and visiting entertainers. The staff are open, transparent and very supportive to everyone, they naturally exceed expectations, nothing is too much to ask for and the kettle is always on! Thank you the Henrietta Team.

The first thing that struck me when I went to visit Henrietta House was how welcoming, friendly and helpful the staff were.
My mother began her stay there mid-August 2017 initially for respite care, but it soon became obvious she needed longer-term provision.
The staff tried their very best for Mother
at all times. They always kept me up to date with her progress.
If the fabric of the building and the interior decor had money spent on it, it would be a much nicer environment but I cannot fault the staff.

I find that all the staff are kind, considerate, friendly and helpful. Residents are treated with respect and their dignity is preserved.
I think more use could be made of the garden and perhaps residents could be encouraged to spend 10 minutes outside especially on sunny days. Also, there used to
be exercises done in the lounge. This seems to have stopped. I feel that they would benefit from regular exercise to aid circulation. Several residents are very difficult and can cause tension.

The quality of staff were excellent and so in time with residents needs. They were particularly good with the residents with dementia problems. Always cheery and joined in with the entertainment held at Henrietta House much to the delight of the residents. Overall they do an excellent job.

I cannot fault anything about Henrietta House.
Firstly, my mum and dad both went in together for respite in April. Mum had 2 weeks in there and decided to leave dad in the care home as she was unable to cope with dad at home. Mum being 91 and dad 89. The care was second to none. The staff are so kind
and dedicated, they kept dad there for his last weeks/ days until he passed in July.
The manager was wonderful and herself and her staff couldn't have done any more than they did. Well done team Henrietta.

I have found the care my mum has had and is receiving at Henrietta House to be fantastic.
The staff are extremely kind and understanding. We are always informed of decisions and problems with a high level of compassion. I feel they are a great team that are happy to include the carers in that team.
They listen to concerns.
They have nursed Mum through a very difficult period. If I have a criticism it is that the owners could put some more funding in to perhaps brighten up the general decor and furnishings.
Otherwise a wonderful home.

The degree of care my mother receives is by far the most excellent care my sisters and I could ask for. The staff have fully informed us of every detail of her care, with care and consideration for our feelings. We would definitely recommend this home to anyone who would need care for their loved
