My mum has been at Clara Court since leaving the hospital. The manager and staff have made my mum and myself very welcome, they have dealt with us both very professionally and very caringly, all our anxieties have been resolved and my mum appears very happy at Clara Court. Special thanks to one member
of the admin team who is an asset to the home. Well done Clara Court.

The manager and her amazing team have supported mum and the family with kindness through a challenging time. Mum has now been in Clara Court for a few weeks and with her mid-stage Alzheimer’s the team have done an outstanding job in supporting and settling her in. They have gone to great lengths to
make the garden visits work well for everyone. We are so pleased we were lucky enough to find such an outstanding home for mum. These carers are stars.

I visited unannounced to check suitability for my Mum. Everyone was in a meeting but still took me to see a respite room. All were very pleasant and the aura of Clara Court was good. Mum stayed three weeks and her care was exemplary. The staff from cleaners, handyman, cooks and nursing staff alike were
all very caring and circumspect. The team is very well led by its manager.

The care at Clara Court is exceptional, and they looked after my father for six years, and I could not fault this home. The staff were all so friendly and bent over backwards to help. They were very patient with my father, who was not always that easy to deal with.
I would highly recommend Clara Court
to anyone, and I would like to thank the staff who are amazing.

After an initial stay for respite care, my mum became a permanent resident in April 2019. She has a lovely big room which is light and airy - and ensuite, and a number of great activities are hosted onsite that she can join in with if she wishes to. The staff are always welcoming (we visit regularly
and are always offered refreshments) and we couldn't be happier with how Mum is cared for.

The only thing Mum mentioned (in a negative way) was the fact she said it was 'always cold' and she cannot chew because she has no bottom dentures since her stroke and she found the food hard.
Reply from Samantha Debenham, Personal Assistant at Clara CourtThank you for taking the time to submit your review, we were so happy to see your excellent scores for the home in every category. I understand you have spoken to the home manager at Clara Court in regards to the food in the home which is made daily by our chef-led team. All our menus are planned with feedback from residents with plenty of choice and variety every day and we will, of course, ensure that, when your mother joins us for her next stay, we have included some her favourites on the menu. We have also spoken with the chef who will prepare ingredients so they are served softer and are easier for her to eat and enjoy. Thank you again for your feedback, and please do let us know if we can help in any other way now or in the future.

Since moving into Clara Court in December, my mother has received excellent care. The staff take time to motivate and encourage her and tempt her with tasty food, really important as she was so reluctant to eat previously. The staff keep me updated between visits which is incredibly reassuring and have
worked with my brother and I to find the best way to support my mother's needs. Mum's room is comfortable, cosy and very clean and the whole home is a lovely, safe and stimulating environment.

Beyond impressed!
My Grandmother is like a new person since moving into Clara Court. They call it the 'Clara Magic' and it has certainly worked - Granny has a new lease of life!
Hair and nails done, engaging in activities (including Zumba!), eating well and motoring around as if she has had a new
set of batteries fitted.
This is an incredibly well run and managed care home with a genuine ethos of care and respect that translates to all staff within the home. Granny says it is better 'than a hotel' and has 'never felt so well looked after'. The room and building are exceptionally clean and well looked after and there are no complaints about the food, or actually anything!!
Most importantly Granny says she is feeling 'very happy' and wants to stay permanently. It's so reassuring to know that she is somewhere that looks after her so well and treats her as they would their own family.
Thank you so much to all the staff, I cannot recommend this home enough.

I am very impressed by the staff and facilities at this home. All staff I have come across including the manager, admin, carers, chef and maintenance guy - have all been lovely. Helpful, caring and effective. They work well as a team and appear to be very dedicated. There seems to be a low turn over
of staff. The care staff manage with dementia residents very well indeed.

The manager knows everyone, including visitors and is very involved in the care of residents.

Rooms are a good size with good furniture. Visitors are welcome any time and are made to feel 'at home' with a cup of tea etc. The garden is a good, safe place for those on the ground floor. The meals menu is interesting, especially at lunchtime - and there are numerous snacks provided during the day.

There is a good daily programme of activities for those able to participate.

My mother is well looked after in Clara Court. The carers are warm and friendly and really care for her. They meet all her needs and know her so well and are able to tell if she is becoming unwell and are able to act accordingly. When we come to visit she is always clean and well kept. We are always
kept informed on anything that is happening. Thank you Clara Court.

This visit, as all previous visits my visit has been greeted with warmth and appreciation. This attitude is fully reflected in the care shown to my Mother in Law. She is cared for and respected by the care home carers with warmth and patience which gives us great peace of mind. Iw ould highly recommend

This was the second respite care for my wife. The team worked so hard so that they could maintain a good standard of care. She was treated with respect and encouraged to join the activities. I phoned daily and felt comfortable that my wife was well cared for. They were all very familiar with her care
plan and managed to give me relevant information. My wife was visited by friends and ex-colleagues. They all confirmed that the environment was relaxed and the staff was welcoming. They were pleased that she had adapted very well. Finally, I would like to comment that the leadership is the contributing factor to its success.

We, as a family, are constantly impressed with the level of care and attention shown to my mother. Despite my mother's illness it is fair to say that she is very happy at Clara Court and that, of course, reassured us that she is in the right place. I have nothing but good things to say about all of

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.770)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.770) out of 10 for Clara Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 21 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 21 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.770 for Clara Court is calculated as follows: ( (194 Excellents x 5) + (51 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 248 Ratings = 4.77
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Clara Court is based on 21 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 76 registered maximum number of service users is 15.2, which has been reached with 21 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
