Wild Acres

My Mum arrived at Wild Acres in January 2024 and has been made very welcome since the first day. She was a bit scared about living in a care home but now says best decision she has ever made. Her room is decorated with her own belongings from her previous home and she is so proud to show it off to family and friends. She now joins in with all daily activities and especially enjoys singing, making things, and doing quizzes and exercises. She loves the company of other residents and is happy to chat. The staff has now helped/encouraged Mum to get walking with her zimmer again which is wonderful for her. She cannot wait to get out into the gardens when the weather is warmer. The food is exceptional and caters to everyone, Mum says delicious and nice to have a choice each day. She loves all of the friendly staff equally and they always answer any questions our family has regarding mum. The manager, is a lovely lady and I would like to thank her personally.

Staff supported a beautiful afternoon of celebration for my gran's 94th birthday. No effort was too much and the care for all the residents was evident.

Lovely care home, very welcoming, all the staff are wonderful. My mum is very happy living here as she says everyone is so kind and they look after her very well. She enjoys trying all activities and loves the meals. Would highly recommend,

A caring home which offers good support to both residents and relatives. It is not a large home so the residents are known to staff and each other which leads to a friendly atmosphere. This is noticeable once front doors open. Activities are provided by two enthusiastic members of staff which adds to the well-being of the residents. Doctors and chemists are close by.

My father has been at Wild Acres for nearly a year. His dementia is quite severe, and what a sad disease this is, yet he receives wonderful care from the lovely staff. They are warm and affectionate, treat him with great respect, encouraging him to engage and be involved in various activities. I popped in this morning to see him, and enjoyed a wonderful hour of musical entertainment with a very professional singer, part of birthday celebrations for 2 residents. Everyone, including Dad, enjoyed themselves. Afterwards, everyone was looking forward to a delicious Sunday lunch, just like at home. The food is very good and homemade. I am always welcome there, and enjoy talking to other relatives. There is a real family feel. Staff work really hard to provide meaningful times for the residents. I am very grateful Dad has a place there.

We are most grateful for and happy with the care she receives and the support the team gives her and us.

Wild Acres has been an excellent choice for Mum.

This month has been incredible. There has been a Christmas-themed activity every day. Singers, entertained dancers, quizzes, baking, crafts - fabulous - what more can you ask for.

Lovely and caring staff members. Very welcoming and warm. Grandma's care if exceptional and she is always well-presented. The activities are always varied and include everyone including the families. Love bringing my daughter here to visit as well as all the residents make her feel welcome and enjoy having her around.

When I visited my mother-in-law it was wonderful to see how well presented she was, matching clothing, hair looking lovely and happy within herself. The team at Wild Acres are outstanding in how they treat every resident with the utmost dignity and respect not to mention us as relatives. I always feel so very welcomed when I visit and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you so much for taking outstanding care of my mother-in-law.

Our Dad died on 9th December, Wild Acres having been his home since September 2022. He had dementia but still took pleasure in music and his food up to the last week of his life.

The staff have been wonderful with Dad - they got to know him quickly and we felt very lucky to have found such a small and caring place for Dad's final days.

There have been many social events organised at the home - including on Dad's 87th birthday in November when there was a singer and party food. We were there, with former neighbours and friends. We were able to have a convivial gathering with Dad and he enjoyed the attention (and the chocolate cake)!

Dad's health took a sudden downturn not long after his birthday. My brother and I tried to be with him when we could but were reassured that Dad would not be left alone. On a few days the Care Manager moved her office into his room and other members of staff stood in when she was unable to. Thank you all so much. You are a fantastic team.

I have been to a couple of the many Christmas activities that have been organised and there have been many, I have and am sure the residents have loved the lead-up to Christmas including a wonderful Christmas party which was full to the brim with family members as well, the home provided an amazing buffet free of charge. The activities team and all the staff doing an amazing job.

It’s always clean, and every time we visit, there seems to be an activity happening in the main room.

The staff at Wild Acres care home are always most attentive to my uncle. He enjoys living there as he is unable to live alone in his own home. They all looked after his needs, and it gives us all peace of mind knowing that he is well cared for.
