I feel like our concerns are being listened to. Their only priority is the resident and it hasn't always been this way in the past.
The carers that look after my mum are amazing. The cleaners also do a fantastic job.
Thank you so much for your honest and thoughtful feedback. We're really pleased to hear that you've noticed such positive changes at Farnham Common House and, most importantly, that you feel listened to and that your mum's needs are at the heart of everything we do. It's lovely to hear such praise...
My Mum moved into Farnham Common House in June 2025. As with most families it is such a big thing for a relative to move into a care home, worrying about how they will settle in, will they be looked after, will the staff care, the list of concerns is endless. My Mum had been very independent for a long time, but always did enjoy being waited on hand and foot whilst on holidays or out for meals etc. So as her son I hoped this would be the case at Farnham and my Mum would enjoy that aspect. So, she did take to this new kind of living very well. It is now over a year that she has been living there and both her and the home goes from strength to strength. My Mum loves being there, the staff are genuinely caring, the management team are very strong, approachable, open and available at all times. The place is immaculate, fantastic atmosphere and well kept grounds to take a walk, hairdressers, nail bar, activities and amazing home cooked food. Faultless in every way. Thank you for everything.
Thank you so much for your 5 star review, C A! We're so glad your Mum did settle in so well and that you're so impressed with Farnham Common House.
Lovely carers, nothing too much trouble for them. Their interactions with residents & visitors is always caring & considerate. Individual needs & requirements always at the forefront of their actions. Lovely rooms & plenty of sociable space.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, K S. Such positive feedback is so appreciated.
My husband went into Farnham common house in June 2026. It was a hard choice to make I felt guilty and also felt that I was deserting him . The first week was awful for us all. My husband took just over a week to settle. He's really calm and settled. He has accepted it as his home and tells me as long as we visit he's happy. I can't thank all the staff enough everyone of them can't do enough . I know that is why my husband is so happy and settled. If we have had any hiccups they have gone out of there way to sort them out quickly. Last thing I felt put out because my husband was more happy and settled than he was at home (been married 58 years) there again the staff put me right and reassured me.
Thank you for your honest review, J H. We are glad that your husband has settled happily at Farnham Common House.
My father has settled well at Farnham Common House . The staff sort out any issues swiftly and log all the residents meals etc on their phone devices. The staff understand our situation and do their best to give us reassurance. As a family we feel that my father is happy and well cared for .
Thank you so much for your 5 star review, J T. We are glad that your father is happy at Farnham Common House.
I asked a carer if I could take my nan out to the garden and needed her wheelchair, she proceeded to point to a cupboard that was locked expecting that I knew what to do. I found another carer who then opened it for me. I took my nan to the garden for an hour. She said she is bored and that she would love to come into the garden more, but no one can bring her as they are too short staffed. I brought her back into the day room and on my way through there was a carer lying with her shoes on the sofa on her phone. I was appalled to see this. The carers seem disinterested and I am not sure why they can't sit and do activities with the residents. The residents look bored and it was sad to see.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. I'm so sorry to hear that your first visit with your grandmother left you feeling disappointed.
It's particularly concerning to read your comments about resident engagement, access to the garden and the behaviour you observed from members of...
I have enjoyed all my weekly visits to see my friend.
thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, M C. We are glad you enjoy your visits.
Really good staff who do their very best performing a challenging job.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, J E. Much appreciated.
It is nice to be kept updated on your loved one. Also, being listened to if you have any concerns. I had 3 issues with the care of my husband, but the manager dealt with quickly, which gave reassurance.
Thank you so much for your 5 star review and such honest feedback. We are so glad you feel reassured.
The home is very homely. All the staff are very friendly, helpful and kind. At times there is a shortage of staff which makes it hard work for remaining staff. Although it is probably due to rotate staff around the different sections it would be nice to have one permanent member on each section because they get to know the different needs of each resident.
Thank you for the 5-star review. All of your feedback is taken on board and referred back to management, plus, we are glad you find Farnham Common House so homely.
The staff are all very friendly and very helpful and can't do enough for the residents also the food looks delicious and dad always eats his.
Thanks for your 5-star review. We're happy, too, that your dad enjoys the food at Farnham Common House.
It was a difficult decision for mum to put dad in a care home but it has been the best decision she could have made. All of the staff at Farnham Common House have made dad feel at home and very welcome. All the staff pop into his room and chat to him as they go past. He loves the home cooked food and all the activities especially musical ones or the animal visits. Farnham Common House is one of the best care homes I have visited and I have been to quite a few to visit elderly friends. I would highly recommend it.
Thank you so much for a 5 star review, K C. We are so glad that you would recommend Farnham Common House so highly.
The staff are all friendly and caring. Everything is spotlessly clean. The food looks very appetising. The chef made a beautiful cake for my friends birthday. My friend has settled down very quickly no longer saying she wishes to go home. She has made friends with one of the other residents and seems happy.
Thank you for the 5 star review, S P. We are glad your friend is happy and settled at Farnham Common House.
My mother passed away in July after just over a year of living at Farnham Common House. The latter part of her stay was in the dementia ward. From day 1, the staff were wonderful, and by staff I mean not only the carers but also all others who work there behind the scenes, such as the office, activity, kitchen and cleaning staff. It's such a difficult job looking after very elderly people, and at FCH I experienced caring at its best, loving, patient (sometimes in the extreme!), reassuring, professional, and humorous. The atmosphere in the home is positive, and, as a visitor, I always felt very welcome. Residents' needs are met on a very individual basis, and I never felt any worries at all about the way my mother was treated although I was not able to visit very often. Not least, I appreciated the close contact that the home maintained with me throughout my mother's stay. Thank you all so much.
Thank you so much for your 5-star review. We are so glad that you found the atmosphere in the home to be positive and welcoming.
As an ex-NHS worker, this is the very best care home I have personally come across. All staff, from the receptionist and office staff, kitchen staff (especially), activity staff (especially), laundry and cleaning are exceptional along with the care team - who are amazing. This really is a very happy and caring home from home. Exceptional.
Thank you for your 5-star review. We are so glad you find Farnham Common House such an exceptional home!
I have found all the staff very helpful and kind to him. He finds it difficult to cope with activities but enjoys any form of music and loves singing.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are glad that your husband is now settling in and enjoys the musical activities.
This service is a new experience for myself and my family, as not been involved or been through the senial dementia illness ever before. Your service team are beneficial to assigning patients, who are unaware of daily tasks to choose and lifetime daily role. I (we), as a family, appreciate your involvement with managing and offering superb care for our family member and other patients with similar issues that helps their daily fun and care within a 24-hour cover to ease the situations. Thank you again for your care service.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are very glad that you are happy with the care your family is receiving at Farnham Common House.
Plenty for kids, plenty of food and drink options. Residents mixed with others which was really nice.
Thank you for leaving a review. We are glad that you had a nice time visiting Farnham Common House.
Access by bus - public transport is convenient. Front automatic sliding doors to press the button for secure entry by staff are very good. 8 of 9 entries no wait, immediate response and sign in/out. Friendly staff who recognised and remembered us. Quiet words of how she is doing physically and mentally. Her room was clean and fresh. The common room and piano are very nice! Dining room with a budgie and view to the patio - relaxing. Attending Saturday's meeting was informative.
Thank you for your review. We really appreciate the finer details of your comments and glad that you found the meeting informative.
I cannot praise the staff here too much. The friendly, professional care is excellent. They try to personalise the rooms to make the rooms as much like home as possible. They pop in to see the residents to ensure they are not needing anything. It means that the family can relax knowing their family member is being well cared for. 5-star rating from me!
Thank you for your 5 star review. We are so glad you enjoy Farnham Common House's personal touch and that you are relaxed knowing your loved one is being taken care of.
