Review from Peter M (Son of Resident) published on 18 August 2021 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My mother was a resident at Lent Rise House for the last couple of years of her life, during some very testing times for the home with Covid. At all times we were very happy with the care she received from the staff from the day-to-day care to celebrating her birthdays. There were times when the staffing numbers were lower than they should really be, but the staff that were there always worked hard to cover the staffing shortage.

When it came to her last days they were very supportive and made sure we could visit her as much as possible. They also made sure we kept informed of her condition which allowed members of the family to be with her when she passed, which made sure she wasn't on her own.

My mum was at Lent Rise for 3 weeks of respite care after an operation. Although she had to self isolate for the first two weeks due to COVID restriction the staff looked after her really well, were attentive and caring.

Given the extreme circumstances that have prevailed with the pandemic, I can only praise the dedication and diligence of the Lent Rise staff. We have had regular updates with regards to Mum and visits have been facilitated under strict covid regulations when possible.
The staff are always friendly and accommodating and, I know, take great care of Mum. The weekly Skype calls are a comfort.

Thank you to all at Lent Rise.

In these unusual times it's really hard not being able to see my dad so it's even more important than ever to know that he's well looked after by the Lent Rise team. They care for his every need, as you'd expect, but they also take the time to chat with him and make him smile for which I'll be eternally grateful. Heartfelt thanks to the awesome team for all that they do!

My mum has been in Lent Rise House for nearly two years. I have always been so impressed with everyone at Lent Rise, each carer really goes the extra mile to look after their residents. I really feel like my mum isn’t just being physically looked after but also mentally cared for and I couldn’t ask for more. Management, processes, living environments are all great. I would strongly recommend it to anyone that is thinking about attending this care home. Oh and the chef is great, my mum is always raving about the food which is diverse, healthy, diabetic friendly and tastes great. Well done all.

Our mother is extremely well cared for at Lent Rise. We rest easy knowing she is in good hands, with the best care. During times of the pandemic while our family is unable to visit, the staff have helped video (Skype) call with us, enabling to see and talk to our mum. I can't say enough about how happy I am with the service, care, and staff.

Reply from Steph Lawson, Sales Co-Ordinator at Lent Rise House

Mum has had fantastic care from Lent Rise House with covid they are very compliant and, although we have not been able to visit, we have been kept up to date and have Skype calls with Mum she is happy and smiles a lot which is lovely to see. This comes from the staff's care of Mum. She is not distressed, even with her dementia. Mum has been in Lent Rise for over a year and we as a family, although difficult for us, are pleased with the excellence they offer here. A massive thanks to all involved.

Our mother has been a resident here for a couple of years. Our mum, from the start, has been treated with the utmost care and respect. Her needs are anticipated and met and any concerns are shared with us. The meals are all prepared fresh and are varied taking all dietary requirements into consideration. The chef is happy to hear feedback and go the extra mile. There is always a cuppa and a biscuit on offer too. We are very happy with the care received and all communications from Lent Rise. The staff do a wonderful job and with covid all precautionary measures are in place. It’s been challenging for everyone, but we receive regular updates on Mum's wellbeing. There is FaceTime available and encouraged, staff welcome as much contact as possible inappropriate ways. The activity team I can not fault either, they are constantly looking for and implementing ways to engage with everyone and also do one to one sessions with those that can not participate. We appreciate and salute you, thank you!

A comfortable, lively home with caring professionals. Mum is at the stage of her dementia where she cannot join in with activities, however, she is always beautifully dressed, her jewellery is put on and she is wheeled into the lounge in her lovely comfy chair where she can listen and observe or just nap! We receive a weekly update from her key worker and in these very difficult times we partake in a weekly Skype call with her. Any little issue or health concern, I receive a call from her nurse, advising me of the action taken.

I transferred my dad from another home, the staff at Lent Rise House could not have been more helpful in making a difficult transition into a success. My dad was welcomed warmly and settled into his room quickly. He enjoyed the company of his fellow residents. He loved the entertainment, especially the musical events, where he would join in and sing every word with a huge smile on his face. His care was exemplary, I was kept informed by the nursing staff if he was unwell and the care he received was second to none. When he passed away the duty staff were wonderful. I think they shed more tears than me.

Mum has been a resident for almost a year now and she is so happy to be there. The staff are excellent, from the carers, admin staff, chef, etc. they make you feel like you are one big family. My friend came over from New Zealand and could not believe how well Mum was being looked after and how lovely the staff were.
I have been there at all different times so I’ve seen the activities, food, etc. and have never had any worries that she is being looked after.

Would not hesitate in recommending the home to others.

My mum spent her last weeks in Lent Rise House. I was extremely satisfied and impressed with the care she received. The nursing staff regularly contacted me to advise on her health. The home itself is bright, clean and airy, with a welcoming feel as soon as you go through the door. There are plenty of activities for residents to enjoy. I wish my mum's fast deteriorating health had not prevented her from enjoying the facilities to the full.

Mum had been in the home since the beginning of the year until she passed away recently. During that time she was well cared for and treated with utmost respect and dignity. The home was very clean and welcoming. Food always looked appetising and well presented. During the last few months, Mum became challenging but was always treated with patience and in a friendly manner.

Clearly, the home had issues in the past but the new management team, highly robust processes and procedures now mean the home is providing an excellent and professional level of care.

From the outset, we (my aunt and her friends and I) were most impressed with Lent Rise House. It more than lived up to the pictures on the website. We loved the garden and different sitting areas. We also loved the staff who are friendly, welcoming and plentiful. Then there is the range of activities ... we all thought we would not mind being cared for there!
