My husband was only in Lent Rise home for nine days for palliative care. He was treated very kindly and efficiently. As a result of their diligence, I was called in the night and able to be with him when he died which meant a lot to me. I too was treated with kindness and consideration. I would not hesitate to recommend Lent Rise House to anyone who asked me!

My Mum moved in 5 months ago and fitted in easily. The Lent Rise team are kind and caring and accommodate my Mum's wacky sense of humour. Activities vary from scrufts dog show to 1 to 1 chats and my Mum can't get enough music. Her room has 2 windows looking out over a magnolia - her favourite tree.

I have visited my friend on many occasions since she entered Lent Rise House in November 2018. I have stayed for lunch with her on two occasions. I liked Lent Rise House at once, on the first view. It is very clean, tidy and orderly.
All members of staff encountered have been friendly, polite, efficient and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. The food was enjoyable, well cooked and served - there has always been a choice.

Nursing standards are high. The manager walks around the home regularly - good communication and very reassuring,

We moved my Mother to Lent Rise House in November 2018, following a request from the care home she had been living in to find alternative care. This was due to my mother's behaviour, associated with her Alzheimer's dementia deteriorating. My mother becomes occasionally verbally frustrated and sometimes communicates distress through her behaviour.
The staff at Lent Rise House have not only been very welcoming to us all but have taken my mother's behavioural issues on board, managing them well, with acceptance, calmness and patience. They have also been keen to try different practical ways to help my mother avoid getting distressed, particularly, but not only, with the use of music. In a relatively short time, both the staff at Lent Rise House and those who come in for activities, have all made an effort to get to know my mother and interact in a positive way with her.

The care home has a friendly atmosphere and the activities on offer are well run, varied and certainly enjoyed by my mother.

The management and staff have worked hard to raise standards over the last 12 months. All residents have benefitted from the enhanced standards in all areas. The friendly staff have created a warm and caring atmosphere which enables residents to be content and happy, leading fulfilling lives.

Since my mother's first arrival at Lent Rise House, we have felt that she is in the best possible home after her own home. The carers, nurses and all staff clearly care very much with their support and commitment. We were able to transition our mother to the care home even though it was an enormously emotional even traumatic time for us as her children and her family.

Lent Rise have kept our mother healthier, more stable and content in herself than she was ever in the months before she arrived. We can only thank the carers, nurses, management and all staff deeply for all they do and have enabled our family to be happy again knowing our mother is well cared for.

Two years ago I wrote a review saying service was excellent. Now it is not. All I can say is read the CQC report. A very distressing time.

Reply from Sarah Bygrave, Communications Executive at Lent Rise House

Overall Experience

This is a very friendly home providing both nursing care and dementia care in a clean, comfortable purpose-built building, with beautiful gardens, and various lounges and sun-rooms that are full of light and space. My grandmother spent her last three years her until the age of 101, receiving nursing care. She had a strong personality, a bright mind and a very wide life experience, and could sometimes be very frustrated with her loss of independence and almost total need for care. The Lent Rise staff took the trouble to understand her and treat her with compassion and dignity, adapting their timetables and patterns to her preferences wherever possible (even when perhaps more inconvenient for them) and encouraging her to make the most of all the opportunities on offer whilst still respecting her privacy. They showed affection, care and great good humour. When visiting her, we (her relatives) felt not as if we were visiting an institution, but were made to feel part of a wider Lent Rise family - not just from my grandmother's own carers, but also from admin, cleaners and activity staff as well as other residents. This good relationship meant that we felt very comfortable to discuss any particular issues as they arose, knowing that they would receive a positive response; it also meant that there was great support available for us as my grandmother approached the end of her life. The activities team ensure a varied programme of events both in and out of the home, going the extra mile such as coming in even on days off for birthday parties or taking on the care of chickens in the gardens, to enrich the experience of the residents - and family and friends are welcomed to bring any of their own skills and time to all these events. I would have no hesitation in recommending Lent Rise House.
