The team encourage independence and choice whilst maintaining a friendly atmosphere throughout the home. A beautiful outdoor space enables everyone to enjoy the fresh air or tend to the chickens in the garden.

Lent Rise House is a very well run care home! It affords its residents a caring environment meeting all their needs.


Meals are nutrition based and well balanced. The home has a lovely ambience with good activities. Overall, the management is excellent.

Since my mother's first arrival at Lent Rise House, we have felt that she is in the best possible home after her own home. The carers, nurses and all staff clearly care very much with their support and commitment. We were able to transition our mother to the care home even though it was an enormously
emotional even traumatic time for us as her children and her family.
Lent Rise have kept our mother healthier, more stable and content in herself than she was ever in the months before she arrived. We can only thank the carers, nurses, management and all staff deeply for all they do and have enabled our family to be happy again knowing our mother is well cared for.

Two years ago I wrote a review saying service was excellent. Now it is not. All I can say is read the CQC report. A very distressing time.

This is a very friendly home providing both nursing care and dementia care in a clean, comfortable purpose-built building, with beautiful gardens, and various lounges and sun-rooms that are full of light and space. My grandmother spent her last three years her until the age of 101, receiving nursing
care. She had a strong personality, a bright mind and a very wide life experience, and could sometimes be very frustrated with her loss of independence and almost total need for care. The Lent Rise staff took the trouble to understand her and treat her with compassion and dignity, adapting their timetables and patterns to her preferences wherever possible (even when perhaps more inconvenient for them) and encouraging her to make the most of all the opportunities on offer whilst still respecting her privacy.They showed affection, care and great good humour. When visiting her, we (her relatives) felt not as if we were visiting an institution, but were made to feel part of a wider Lent Rise family - not just from my grandmother's own carers, but also from admin, cleaners and activity staff as well as other residents. This good relationship meant that we felt very comfortable to discuss any particular issues as they arose, knowing that they would receive a positive response; it also meant that there was great support available for us as my grandmother approached the end of her life. The activities team ensure a varied programme of events both in and out of the home, going the extra mile such as coming in even on days off for birthday parties or taking on the care of chickens in the gardens, to enrich the experience of the residents - and family and friends are welcomed to bring any of their own skills and time to all these events. I would have no hesitation in recommending Lent Rise House.
