We did much research before choosing Rayners for the care of my mother. They were so superior to other local care homes for a great number of reasons and the care and service that my mother received in the several years she was resident was never less than exemplary, especially as her health worsened towards the end of her life.

The management and staff were always extremely accommodating to my mother's needs and to our requests as a family. Nothing was ever too much trouble. We were always given private space to get together as the extended family to celebrate birthdays and Christmas and these occasions have given us some happy memories. We always enjoyed the Rayners Christmas party, too.

The wellbeing of the residents is paramount, manifest in quality entertainment, activities and home comforts such as hairdressing. The house and gardens are always a delight and are a key factor in the general ambience.

All in all there is too little to fault. Thank you so much Rayners.

My mother was a resident at Rayners for almost 10 years. She was very happy there and when she was well enough, was always happy to join in with any of the activities on offer. I cannot thank the staff and management enough for all their devoted care towards her and I would certainly recommend Rayners to anyone who might be looking for a suitable care home for their relative. The atmosphere and decor have always been bright and welcoming - a real home from home.

We have found this care home to be efficient and professionally run in a kind and caring way. Staff are friendly and interested and work hard to meet the needs of the residents. They are supportive and communicate well with residents and each other so that issues/needs/requests are known and dealt with promptly. There are high standards of cleanliness etc. The staff are always welcoming.

Initial contact friendly and helpful. The initial visit welcoming and thorough. Visited daily always uplifting atmosphere. The staff very responsive nothing is too much trouble. Activities are often going on. The room is very pleasant onto well-kept garden.

I have genuinely reflected on each of the criteria which you use to rate care homes and I can confirm that in each case this Home deserves an ‘excellent’ rating. It’s not just that I had good experiences on most days, with only a few days where the service was not ‘excellent’. Every single experience for each of the criteria earned an ‘excellent’ rating, which is a sign of the true quality built into Rayner’s performance. I was in Rayners for two weeks ‘respite care’. I am quite frail, but the specific care needs I had was dealing with my suprapubic catheter; which, characteristically, develops problems with kinking in the tube, causing real discomfort. One-touch of the switch by my bed, day or night, and someone came running. I could cite other examples of their exceptional care.

Communication with us was frequent and kept us up to date with how Mum was doing. It's the attention to detail that we found impressive - for example, in relation to communication, phonecalls would always being with a re-assuring "There's nothing to worry about - we just want to tell you....". On the day Mum died, it was touching that Rayners organised her room with her special things close by, and we greatly appreciated their sensitivity towards family members at this crucial moment. While, thanks again to managers keeping us up to speed, we were expecting the worst, it still comes as a shock when it actually happens. The support and information Rayners provided to the family at this time; was very consoling.

Friendly staff, caring in a relaxed but friendly atmosphere.

From admission through to his death, we could not fault the care, consideration and compassion shown to our father, by every member of staff. He, and we as his family, were made to feel most welcome throughout his, all too short, stay at Rayners. The additional support from the hospice staff was second to none, and we have nothing but praise for everyone who looked after him. Thank you Rayners.

Although they were only there for a short time, our memories are very positive, and I would not hesitate to recommend, for anybody looking for ongoing care

Mother went here very last minute after hospital. Very friendly staff. Nothing too much trouble. Food great, just like a hotel. Spotless everywhere. The best in my opinion, in the area of Amersham.

I recently spent 2 weeks in Rayners was very impressed with all aspects of the home. It is very well run, feels more like a hotel than a care home. The staff are very caring, take time to attend to everyone which leads to a very calming atmosphere.

Every time I visit my father, the staff greet me by name and seem genuinely pleased to see me. I have a young daughter (20 months) who is very active but they are welcoming to all family members and we can visit often and freely. Rayners offer a huge range of activities and entertainment for the residents, on a daily basis, and go out of their way to make the atmosphere 'homey'. The communal areas are always well presented with fresh flowers and the gardens are well maintained and a joy to sit in. Although we were sad not to be able to continue dad's care at home, we know that he is well cared for by the highly experienced senior staff and their team.

Mum started respite care in a different care home with the same inspection ratings as Rayners. Thank goodness we were told about this home. It is a grand hotel in comparison. Wine offered at lunchtime, red or white. Proper material serviettes and plenty of good food. Care, kindness, patience and time are given instinctively to those who need it. Want to book myself in. Amazing. Can't praise the owner of the care home enough.

My Dad is always given excellent care. The staff are hardworking but never to busy to stop for a chat. They are always patient and kind. The level of care is outstanding. The food is always excellent and is always suitable for my Dad's diabetes. There is a happy and relaxed atmosphere at Rayners and I always feel very welcome whenever I visit. A lovely home, with lovely staff in a lovely setting!.

My Mother was resident at Rayners for three months following brain surgery for the removal of a large brain tumour. The facilities and care at Rayners were outstanding as were the caring staff. The meals provided really were of the highest calibre, with the kitchen always using fresh ingredients. In fact, my Mother came home a stone heavier - she enjoyed herself so much that we had troubles getting her to leave! Being family owned was also a great asset to the home, with a warm and homely atmosphere. She made some great friends whilst there and still returns to visit.

I am very fortunate to be a resident here.

The home is spotlessly clean - everybody is caring and friendly, there is plenty of choice on the menu, food is always served with good presentation/hot, different activity every day.
