My husband entered White Plains Care Home initially for 2 weeks respite for me and my daughter. It quickly became apparent that this would need to be a longer stay as we were only just surfacing from our caring role which we had been doing for a long time . My husband has complex needs.

We have felt welcome on each of our visits and have found my husband looking well cared for although obviously wanting to come home. His diabetes is well managed by the District Nurses who used to see him at home.

My husband's wheelchair went missing for a few days but was later found.

We needed to find a suitable home for our father as he had been deemed unable to be alone at home following a fall and because of his dementia. White Plains was recommended to us by the daughter of a former resident.
Dad's been a respite/resident for approaching seven months. As a family we have been very pleased with the care home as a whole. The staff are really wonderful caring people as a whole and are invested in dad's general knowledge overall well being. Sometimes dad can be a little difficult and a bit stubborn but they always seem to work around that.
The food looks good and we feel that he is in a safe caring environment. The building and gardens are constantly being improved upon/decorated and so on.
We have a good working relationship with all the staff and management we come into contact with.

We are very happy to have found White Plains it was a very reliable recommendation

There are no superlative words in the English language adequate enough to express my sincere gratitude and thanks for the outstanding care that my mother-in-law received from all the members of staff at White Plains Denham. When she became a resident, she was adopted as one of theirs. A resident for life. From my point of view, it was reassuring to know that she was in safe hands, being cared for 24/7.

The Manager and her team couldn't be faulted at all with their care of my grandmother through her last 2.5 years. It is truly a home for life. The care team care with their heart, not just to earn money. My grandmother was blind, and they adapted parts of her room to ensure she felt safe moving around her room without us asking them to. The activities available are brilliant and varied, tailored to the interests of the residents. The activity coordinator leads these activities with so much positive energy, I don't know how she does it! She is an absolute star! The carers really do care deeply for each one of the residents with such positivity for a job that at times must be challenging. When I originally looked for a care home for my grandmother, White Plains was my favourite by far. It felt like a home away from home. The lower number of residents made me think that there would be more care available and a more homely approach. I was not disappointed. Thank you for making my grandma's last years so happy.

1. The general environment/atmosphere is very pleasant in the care home.
2. My wife always looks well cared for (dress and cleanliness).
3. Wholesome food and varied menu.
4. The attitude and commitment of staff is excellent and I sense a collective spirit of support for each other as well as for residents. They are always welcoming.
5. As well as the basic caring functions, resident wellbeing requires a holistic approach to stimulate each resident and staff work hard to plan and provide a variety of activities. However, I believe resources are limited and this is an area for better consideration.

6. The ergonomics in the Sunshine Kitchen area is less than perfect and staff cannot see residents if they are washing up! Redesign area? Dishwasher?

If you are reading this review it's likely you are researching where can you find somewhere for a loved one to go, whether it be for respite care or as a full-time resident.
You will not find anywhere better than White Plains in my opinion and I researched extensively.
The team at White Plains are exceptional - the care shown not only to those staying but also the huge support given to the families is incredibly valuable and you feel so included.
The care is superb and such a sense of warmth and belonging - match this with the outstanding cleanliness of the accommodation and the beautiful grounds you really won't be disappointed.

It's a hard time when a loved one needs to adjust their life and one full of emotion but choosing White Plains is one less worry.

Nan was a resident at White Plains for 15 months, at first she was unsettled but within a short period settled in well. She enjoyed joining in with activities provided including gardening, crafts, musicians and outings to local shops and village hall etc. I must say I was very happy with the activities provided, on many occasions when I visited I saw staff interacting with residents, they also organised tea parties, live music and events where relatives were invited to come and enjoy. Residents are not sat in front of the TV and left for the day like I have seen in other places. The care provided is first class and they keep you informed if your loved one has any issues etc.
The home is kept to a high standard and very clean, Nan had a room with a view over the front gardens.
The outside areas and gardens are kept to a high standard which residents can enjoy weather permitting of course.

Overall the team at White Plains did a great job looking after my Nan.

Mum was a resident of White Plains for three years until she passed away in March.
During the time she was a resident her health slowly declined due to illness, and her needs became more complex. But we were assured that White Plains was a home for life, and Mum did indeed consider it her home.
The care Mum received was always first class, at times she could be strong-willed but this was met with humour, patience and always care and respect.
Activities were available and Mum was included as much as she wanted to be, especially enjoying outside
events and musical guests. Mum also liked time on her own in her room which was always accommodated.
Being independent in earlier years Mum appreciated residents' meetings and having her voice heard and opinions sought.

All the members of staff that we interacted with were pleasant, polite and dedicated to the residents and unfailingly kind to any visiting relatives.

My husband spent the last 18 months of his life at White Plains and passed away there on 12 February 2024. He had Alzheimer's and his decline was gradual. The staff followed him and me on this journey, supporting him and me more and more as his Alzheimer's progressed.
In the last few months, he was bedbound, and a full-body hoist was required to help him.
The home's motto is that the place is the residents' home for life and nobody is turned away even when their care needs increase.
The care was second to none. They deserve the 'outstanding' rating. All staff are dedicated, compassionate, and patient.
The manager's door is always open, she is always ready to listen to residents, their relatives, and staff. Anything brought to her attention is quickly remedied.

I would like to thank all of you for supporting us through these difficult times.

The staff are wonderful and caring; they definitely went the extra mile, and overall care was brilliant. Mum was very negative, as she moaned all the time, but the staff took it in their stride. She stayed in her room, which gave the staff extra work, which also meant that some of the food was not as hot as it could be. During staff shortage, her room was not as clean as usual - one word to the management, and it was sorted out. I would recommend the home to anyone it is brilliant.

I have nothing but praise for the wonderful care my mum has received from all the team at White Plains, they are the fabulous soul of this care home and have an equally tremendous team.
My mum was admitted at the beginning of this year from her longstanding family home in Cornwall, a huge move. The care she has received I can honestly say has been incredible. My brother, my wife and I are all in the medical profession and have been bowled over by the dedication and true passion shown by all the team at White Plains for their residents. It is palpable.
We are truly blessed to have chosen this care home for our mum (who as a strong-willed lady, I would say is definitely not the easiest person to look after). We can't thank you enough for your compassion, patience and professionalism at all levels.
I would not hesitate to recommend this care home to anyone I know.

Thank you to the whole team at White Plains.
