Ashlyn Care Home is a friendly and relaxed place for elderly people to live. It is registered for residential and dementia care.

It encourages residents and visiting families and friends to be fully involved in the day-to-day life of the home including activities. All visitors are welcome to join residents for meals, when possible. Above all, staff believe in a flexible person-centred approach.

My mother has the best care. If any problems I would go to the head. My mother eat well and can eat me under the table. Mum is always clean and tidy, her room is too! The staff are very good with my mum, even when she is so mixed up. I have no worries at all. I give 100% to this care home and the staff.

Mum has been at Ashlyn since March 2026. She came for respite after a hospital stay due to a fall at home. She then changed to a permanent placement in April. From the very first visit, Ashlyn felt homely and friendly. The staff are all so kind and welcoming, taking the time to get to know mum, and
genuinely wanting to make her feel as happy and safe as possible. Mum has a lovely quiet room with an en suite and a view over the garden. She's quite a shy person and the team respect her preference to stay in her room most of the time, but never give up on gently encouraging her to come out for things she might enjoy, like singers coming in, or scrabble club. The food seems good and there's plenty of it, the team is great at making sure mum is hydrated and getting enough calories. They look after her medication and arrange GP visits if needed. I'm able to visit whenever I want, for as long as I want. It feels like we're part of a family here, and I'm so pleased we found Ashlyn.

We couldn't be more grateful for the care and compassion shown to our aunt at Ashlyn Care Home. From the very beginning, the staff have treated her with patience, dignity, and genuine kindness, making what could have been a very difficult transition feel safe and reassuring for our whole family.
The
team go above and beyond every day - not only meeting her needs but truly taking the time to understand her personality, routines, and what makes her feel comfortable and happy. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and calm, and it's clear that every resident is cared for with love and respect.
Communication with families has also been excellent, giving us peace of mind knowing she is in such capable hands. We've seen such a positive difference in her wellbeing since moving here, and we can't thank the staff enough for everything they do.
Highly recommend to any family looking for outstanding dementia care.

Thank you to all team at Ashlyn's for the superb and excellent care that our Mum received during her time there. From the moment Mum arrived, we had such a warm welcome. The general feel of the home is of a happy and well run establishment. The rooms and communal areas are clean and fresh, with a
lovely open and airy atmosphere.


All the staff are beyond exceptional. Their loving care is obvious for all to see. The residents are happy and well cared for and treated with the utmost respect and dignity. Mum was always well presented when we visited. The home cooked meals looked delicious, and portions are plentiful. We were always offered refreshments.


As much as the job is demanding, staff always have a smile on their faces, are cheerful, attentive and so very warm and friendly, whilst maintaining complete professionalism. The stable, reliable and dedicated team ensure continuity and reassurance. Thank you again to a wonderful team and for the amazing care that our Mum received.

I visit my friend every Tuesday and have always been welcomed warmly by all members of staff. I feel my friend is well cared for, her room is always clean and tidy, and the carers are ready to help at any time she needs them. Everywhere is spotless, and with the activities provided, this feels like
a lovely place to be. I think everyone does a great job giving the place a very homely feeling.

I can't thank the amazing staff at Ashlyn care home enough. They do a hard job and should be recognised for the amazing job they do. My mum is a long term resident and she is so happy. The staff feel like friends more than staff to both me and my mum. Events are organised to keep them stimulated and
the staff get involved.

The staff have helped us so much from the first time we made contact, right the way through to getting Mum (in law) somewhere she can be properly looked after and supported. The rooms and communal spaces are really nicely decorated, with an engaging, bright and interactive approach taken on both room
and communal space design. The level of care is both professional, but actually more importantly delivered with a sense of care. What struck us most was the fact that all the residents seemed happy every time we visited. Many have significant issues that need to be managed with care and compassion and it was clear after meeting all the staff that this is at the forefront of the ethos at the home, driven by a clear and well implemented management strategy. There is no doubt in our minds that Mum would not still be alive today if we had not been able to get her a place in a suitable home and in just 6 weeks she has physically gone from strength to strength, making friends and settling in.

We cannot thank Ashlyn House Care Home enough. The home is exceptionally well run, with management and staff who are friendly, professional, and genuinely caring.
From the very start, everyone was welcoming and made what is an emotional and daunting process feel calm, kind, and dignified. My grandma
arrived a few days ago, and the team were incredibly accommodating, allowing us to visit as often as we needed beforehand to set up her room and make the transition as smooth as possible.
This move caused many sleepless nights for our family, especially my mum. When I visited my grandma the morning after her first night, she said it was the best sleep she'd had in a very long time-which told us everything.
My grandma is 97 years young, old but gold. She's a very fussy lady (as she should be!), yet she's eaten all her meals and settled in beautifully. The residents are treated with dignity and respect, and the care feels genuine. I have huge respect for the staff and feel incredibly grateful

Since arriving at Ashlyn Care Home, my mum has recieved so much care, attention and respect. She has been given a chance to flourish and feel involved in a care home. I've seen my mum have a routine and recieve the extra care she needs. Especially at nighttime. The carers are kind, caring and lovely
towards mum. The management are caring and understanding too. If I have any worrys or concerns they are more than accomodating. Ashlyns care home is a warm and friendly care home, which I would recommend.

I find Ashlyns Harlow a lovely, caring home. The rooms are small and not luxuriously furnished, however. Also, no view for my husband to look out onto.
But the entertainment for residents is very good. He seems happy enough but would like a bit more room, please.

I attended the family Christmas party and wanted to give all the staff a massive "thank you". Since October (when mum arrived) Ashlyns has been so caring and thoughtful to her needs. They treat her with care and respect at all times. The team are great and laid on a great day. The food was good, singer
good and atmosphere.

My mum has been a resident at Ashlyns since nov 2024 .
I can honestly say this is one of the nicest , care homes we visited on making the right choice for our mum .


We no longer have to worry about mum we know she is in good hands and is very well looked after most importantly safe .


The staff

are like one big family nothing is ever to much trouble ,
Always kindly greet you at reception when you come into the care home .
All the carers are so lovely and kind
They all work so hard in making all the residents Happy and comfortable.
I think Ashlyn are so lucky to have such amazing team .


In the last few months the care Home has been beautifully decorated.
Well done to the fantastic manager it looks wonderful.

Activities ,Cleaners , cook s ,chef .carers .
You all do amazing job

I found contact with the home poor, told one thing that complicated issues when asked.
Food to much for residents lot of waste money could be saved there!
Clothes have issues lost, names put in clothes don't go to right persons a bit of a muddle going on in the launderette. Otherwise ok.

Our mum has been a resident at Ashlyns for nearly a year now. The whole of the team have been amazing since she arrived, kind, incredible friendly, patient and respectful.
The home is always spotless, with fresh flowers making it feel like home from home.
Communication with families is excellent.
The activities team do an amazing job getting everyone involved.
The chef makes sure they all have a great choice of dishes available.
As a family we cannot fault Ashlyns for our own peace of mind we know she is safe and well looked after and happy.

Absolutely awful. My husband suffered kidney failure, sepsis and pneumonia whilst on respite care. When he came ack to the home I went to visit. One day his clothes, face and hands were covered in food. I asked the person in charge to sort this, she said "I haven't been in the lounge today so I
haven't seen him." Final day he was there he was still in bed at 10am with a catheter full to bursting! I was told staff were "too busy" to empty the bag. My husband has only just been discharged from the hospital. The photos on the website look wonderful but all the time I was there, residents were just left in front of the TV. I saw very little in the way of engaging activities.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Coming from the experience that I had with my dad's care home in Enfield, I wasn't expecting much. And I'd also been informed that this was the cheapest of the care homes in Harlow, and that I should try to avoid it. Well, let me tell you, they were all wrong.
The home is fresh, nicely decorated and
clean. Pictures of residents on their coloured room doors is a lovely touch, as are the multiple visual and sensory additions that I never expected to see on walls and hanging from ceilings. There are all sorts of interesting things to see and do throughout the home and everybody - even the cleaning staff - all acknowledge you with a happy 'hello' without fail.
Mum's care, although too brief, was exemplary and attentive, and her passing was handled with respect.
I can't fault the building, care received or staff.
Highly recommended.
