Halstead Hall is a residential care home located in 15 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens. The home provides long-term, respite and convalescence care for up to 65 residents.

Halstead Hall offers a choice of high-quality, newly refurbished, bedroom suites, all of which include en-suite bathrooms and nurse call buzzers, as well as a TV and telephone point. Larger communal bathrooms are all accessible with a hoist and bath chair, and there are lifts providing access to all floors.

An attractive dining room offers a tempting and varied menu of home-cooked food, freshly prepared from local produce where possible. Individual tastes are taken into consideration and all special diets can be catered for.

Entertainment and activities are organised on a daily basis and all residents are encouraged to participate. Visiting services include a hairdresser, chiropodist, optician and clergy.

My husband was in Halstead Hall for 5 weeks for respite care. At all times his complex needs were catered for and there was always someone at hand to look after him and have a chat. Whenever I phoned, he was always put on promptly so that we could keep in touch. Whenever I visited, I was always made
very welcome and any queries were dealt with immediately. The house and grounds are beautiful and very peaceful. I would recommend the Hall to any would-be resident and their family.

My Mum has been a resident of Halstead Hall for quite a while now. All the staff are excellent and have the resident's best interests at heart. They are polite extremely helpful and always do that bit extra to make sure the residents are safe, happy and well cared for. The home always arranges a number
of everyday activities aimed at keeping the residents engaged. They are especially caring for those residents like my mum who are basically bed-bound, going in regularly to ensure they are comfortable and have what they need, I know she is in safe hands.

My Mum has been at Halstead Hall for two years. In that time the care she has received has been nothing but amazing. All the staff have treated Mum with such kindness I couldn't have asked for any more. Mum now sees Halstead as her home and I will always be grateful to all the staff for giving her that
feeling of ease.

My mother has been cared for at Halstead Hall for the past two years. She had been living independently and was very opposed to going into care. The family decided that due to ongoing health concerns and dementia, this would be best for her own safety.
Mum settled quickly at Halstead Hall, and I visit
her regularly. She is happy, content and always tells me how lovely the care staff are. The staff really are excellent, and I have seen how they treat residents with patience, dignity and respect. They are kind and keen to get to know the people they care for. They always have time for a chat.
Halstead Hall itself has undergone refurbishment, and the facilities and decoration of the bedrooms are of a very high standard.
The home is well led with any problems or queries immediately addressed.
I really have no issues with Mum's care, and I am extremely grateful for the unbeatable level of service Halstead Hall provides.

The individual care and attention my husband receives is second to none. He is looked after as if he was cared for at home. When I visit the home it feels like I am visiting him at home and the staff treat us both as though we are family. Nothing is too much trouble and all caring is done with a cheerful

My mother broke her hip at 96 the hospital discharged her but had to be 24 hour care Halstead Hall Care Home took her on even though she could not stand or walk and the stay in Hospital accelerated her dementia. This all in covid lockdown. I was given full reports when I phoned in and was later allowed
visits the staff are all great and Mum always appears clean and well looked after.
Would recommend to anyone.

We have always found Halstead Hall to be a welcoming environment for residents and have found the staff to be efficient, helpful and accommodating in relation to the care for my mother. In respect of the recommendation question above our grading of 'likely' would probably have been upgraded to 'extremely
likely' but with our inability, during Covid restrictions, to gain access on a regular basis to the home and in particular my mother's room leaves some issues difficult to resolve in respect of clothing and other possessions. We fully understand the difficulties that these restrictions have caused to both staff and residents and feel sure in more 'normal' times our recommendation would be extremely likely. As we were only able to visit the Home on two occasions following my mother's initial placement the grading in the following sections can only be provided on our view from both the restricted visits and comments from my mother.

My aunt was sent, much against her better judgement, to Halstead Hall for recovery after a long spell in hospital. She had no intention of staying but within a couple of days, she loved it so much she reserved a room and has now been a resident for over 2 years. Her health and general wellbeing have
improved dramatically and it truly has improved her quality of life beyond all recognition.
The care she receives is top quality and it is delivered with patience and in a cheerful manner.
We are so grateful to all the staff for their continuous professionalism.

All of the staff at Halstead Hall always go above and beyond to make sure that their residents are happy and well cared for, which is very comforting and reassures us that people who mean so much to us are happy and safe and looked after as we would wish to look after them.
In addition, throughout
lockdown, when families haven't been able to visit as much as we would like and have perhaps missed special occasions, they've sent photos of our loved ones so that we can still share these times.
We've been kept up to date and fully informed of all the changes that have had to happen over the last year.

Mum went into Halstead Hall nearly a year ago. Mum has dementia. It has been a very hard time with Covid and the lockdowns. They have been very strict but I know they look after Mum. The care staff are lovely, you can phone anytime and they are so helpful. I'm really glad that we chose Halstead Hall
for Mum. The activities staff are really good they send photos when Mum joins in so we can see her when she is at her best. At the hardest time of our life, I'm glad we found Halstead Hall.

As a family, we have always found the staff at Halstead Hall to be wonderfully kind, caring, patient and attentive towards our mother. In our opinion, she has received an extremely high level of knowledgeable and compassionate care from all of the staff and they do their best to encourage her participation
in various activities held each day. Obviously, the past eighteen months have been extremely difficult for everyone, not least the care home staff, and each and every one of them should be commended for their high level of diligence in ensuring that Covid-19 never entered the home and all of our loved ones were kept safe. During lockdowns, we were unable to visit but communications were made possible by the staff using their own phones for contact until such time the home was able to put in place tablets for this purpose. Before lockdowns we always found the home to be spotlessly clean, meals served were of a high standard and residents enjoyed regular entertainments from local performers

My mother was diagnosed with dementia in 2019 and lived at home with assistance for a year. However after a nasty fall she was taken to hospital by ambulance and after a 3-week stay I was advised it would be beneficial for her to go into respite care. We were lucky enough to be offered Halstead Hall
and, although nervous of how Mum would take to this new way of living, I was amazed at how quickly she settled and that she felt so welcomed and cared for. After 6-weeks of respite Mum was asked if she felt she would like to return home but she declined saying that she felt loved at Halstead Hall and her every need had been met. Mum became a permanent resident in November 2020 and has never looked back.
I cannot praise the staff highly enough, they are all incredible. I ring her daily and visit weekly and have not seen her so content and happy in a long time.
Halstead Hall has exceeded my expectations at every level and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Heather has worked in the care sector since 1990 and has been a registered manager since 1993, holding the Registered Manager Level 4 Award. She has worked alongside the Care Quality Commission and has considerable experience in turning poor homes into good homes.
