My mother in law was admitted to Halstead Hall due to being very frail and due to many falls at home, since been cared for at Halstead Hall she has nothing but praise for the staff and excellent care she is receiving. Her room is very bright and homely she is enjoying the food and activities since been
at Halstead Hall it has been a huge relief for the family as she said she feels safe and secure and she wished she made the decision to go into care at lot sooner. We have daily contact with her through FaceTime or telephone conversation and she’s always bubbly and happy.
Reply from Eve Fynn, Marketing and Communications Lead at Halstead HallWe are delighted to hear how happy your mother in law is and that she finds her room homely. The staff appreciate your comments and thank you for taking the time to leave such a warm and positive review. Best regards, the Halstead Hall Team.

My Nan is in Halstead Hall and from the minute she arrived she felt welcomed and as if she was at home. She feels safe and secure and is treated with the utmost professional and caring manner. She is treated with dignity and respect. She told me that the staff team are amazing and very attentive. She
loves her room which is warm and personalised to make it feel like home. She enjoys playing scrabble with the other residents. The staff and management are kind and treat her very well. It wasn’t an easy decision for her to make but she feels like it has been the best decision for her helped with how well she is treated.
Reply from Eve Fynn, Marketing and Communications Lead at Halstead HallWe are overjoyed to hear how settled your nan is at Halstead Hall. She is a pleasure to care for her and a joy to be around. The staff really appreciate your comments. Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a wonderful review.

Mum spent the last two months of her life at Halstead Hall. She told us that the staff were very caring and that she was treated as somebody special. Communication with us was excellent. They phoned to inform us when she was unwell, had a fall, or on the three occasions that she was taken into hospital.
The administration was spot-on too.
Reply from Eve Fynn, Marketing and Communications Lead at Halstead HallThank you so much for your lovely comments, we really appreciate you taking the time to write such a positive review. Best wishes to you all.

Lovely care home; the carers and other staff are so nice and look after Mum like she was their own. Through the whole lockdown, they have kept us updated with how Mum is, and we have had little gifts and video chats with Mum as well; we can't thank the whole team enough.

Halstead Hall is a brilliantly run home. The manager is a very professional, friendly and approachable manager, and all the staff are excellent too. The home is very clean and feels so welcoming when you walk through the front door. During the Coronavirus pandemic, I felt so rest assured that mum
was being kept safe and well looked after. I like the fact that I was kept fully updated on the home’s latest news and activities by weekly newsletter emails by Stow Healthcare Operations Manager during the pandemic. My mum has always liked having her hair done weekly, and the wonderful staff here kept normality as much as possible by washing and setting mum's hair each week, even going to the trouble of trimming and soft perming mums hair as well. I cannot praise this home enough.
Reply from Roger Catchpole, Owner at Halstead HallThank you for your support! We are delighted that your mum is so happy at Halstead Hall.

From the moment my Mum became a resident she was shown support, caring and all that was necessary for her new life at Halstead Hall Care Home. All the staff were excellent and I truly believe my Mum was finally happy. She had made friends and my Mum was able to be independent with support being there
to reassure her. My Mum's excellent care enabled her to have dignity and she showed her caring nature to others. Thank you!

My father can be a challenging man. The staff have managed that admirably. The staff also manage multi-agency interaction with care, patience and professionalism. I believe their job is made harder than it needs to be by a system which is nonsensical (Doctors, pharmacy etc). All the way through the
staff - all of them have been incredible. Thank you.

My Grandad is well cared for and looked after here. The members of staff always have time for my Grandad and us when whenever we visit.
They tailor everything to my grandad's individual needs and desires, which is all I could ask for. My Grandad is so special to me, so knowing that he's in a place
where he is well cared for make me happy and puts my mind at ease.

My husband recently passed away in this care home. I cannot speak highly enough of the care and dignity he received during his last few weeks. The staff treated him with respect and understanding, even taking some owls etc to his room as he would be interested.
A countryman, he was loved and he loved
them back.

Mum has been at Halstead Hall since the middle of May. The home has a lovely feel about it when you walk in. The management and staff are all very friendly and are always on hand if you have a question or query. I feel better knowing mum is being well looked after 24/7. There are always lots of activities
going on which mum can join in, especially the "diddle dancers" which she loves.
Thank you to everyone at Halstead hall for helping us with mum.

Came to Halstead Hall from hospital to recuperate after an operation. Lovely to be in a quiet, pleasant room.

Mum is so happy. She is smiling, laughing and has people to talk to. They answer the phone at any time. Lovely staff, so kind. Mum had her first bath for years (couldn't get in it at home, only a shower). Absolutely loved it.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.875)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.875) out of 10 for Halstead Hall is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 39 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 39 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.875 for Halstead Hall is calculated as follows: ( (413 Excellents x 5) + (45 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 464 Ratings = 4.875
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Halstead Hall is based on 39 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 65 registered maximum number of service users is 13, which has been reached with 39 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
