Willowmead Care Home, is a wonderful home based in Chelmsford. It has the capacity to care for even complex needs and have many ranges of residents, some of whom are living with dementia or Alzheimer's.

The opinions of loved ones are well respected by staff who are keen to make relatives feel welcome, while protecting the security and hygiene of the accommodation at all times.

The staff are well- trained and have been recognised by care quality commission as they practice safe and effective techniques when caring for their residence.

Care workers are the heart of the business. Willowmead Care Home has long standing staff who are devoted to caring and creating a friendly, fun, home-like atmosphere for their residents. Willowmead Care Home has been an absolute lifesaver for us. Mum loves it there, she is well looked after and loved. We are so pleased with how Mum has settled. The staff look after everyone so well, they are excellent, hard-working and deserve so much more.

Very pleased with all the staff. My mum and aunty are very happy here and the staff and manager are very helpful. My mum is doing very well here and my dad now has a life and can spend quality time with my mum.

This can not be called a care home. I don't know how the building has passed health and safety, it is cold and depressing. My mum has suffered from her health and wellbeing in just one week. I am absolutely shattered by this!

The care that my mother got here was absolutely awful. She was unable to feed herself, yet food and drink were just left on a table in front of her and then taken away un-eaten.
On several occasions, she was not taken to the toilet and left in soiled pads which resulted in her ending up with sores
that were not treated and she was left unwashed or changed. The manager was rude and aggressive and lacked any empathy or offered any help when I complained. She was not treated with any dignity or respect whatsoever. It resulted in social services taking my mother immediately to the hospital where the staff there were shocked at her condition. A copy of her notes was requested but they mysteriously went "missing".
I would not recommend this home to anyone's loved ones and in my opinion, the manager needs to be investigated to stop any more people suffering like my mother did!

I am very impressed by the care and attention all the staff give to my father. They bring fun and joy to the residents in the latter stages of their lives. Facilities are in the process of being upgraded and I'm sure it will look amazing when completed.

My mum has been in Willowmead Care Home since August 2016. The home has always looked after my mother. I feel that the care home and I work in partnership to care for my mum. I think the staff are incredibly caring and welcoming. I love the alterations that the manager has done to the entrance and corridors.

My mother has been a resident at Willowmead for nearly 5-years and has always received excellent care. The staff have always been very friendly towards us when we visit and made us feel very welcome. Mum is so happy and well looked after, even when she has been unwell and had to stay in her room, she
has never felt lonely as staff have regularly been to her room to make sure she is ok.

We have found the care assistants here excellent, more than caring! My mother-in-law is very happy here. Until last month we were able to visit here weekly in the garden, but now - none. We do miss it and so does Mum.
Sadly, we have not, with the present Coronavirus, been inside the home.

Willowmead Care Home is a fairly basic property but the staff are excellent. My mother has been a resident for 2 1/2 years and in the many times I have visited, I have always found the staff to be friendly and professional. The lounge/dining area is always well populated and the staff mix in well and
are always communicating with the residents and in a friendly way.

My Nan was moved to Willowmead Care Home during lockdown. She is at a great age and as a result, hard of hearing and sight. The staff have been taking great care of her and have been fantastic at facilitating communication between us.

The care my Nanna gets from the staff is amazing, they are always accommodating, particularly in these trying times. I was extremely apprehensive when my nan first went into care during a global pandemic, however, the carers at Willowmead Care Home have been so professional, responsible and caring.
