We visited my dad on Christmas Day and found him happy and pleased to see us. He seemed content in the home and happy to see all the staff. They are all very good to him and he reacts well to them. The home is always clean and welcoming, the staff always ensure we have an area to sit with him and provide
tea/coffee for us and him. Feel very happy and safe for him in the home. Great bunch of staff there.

Dad has been well supported at Blenheim. The staff are extremely friendly and supportive.
The Homes Manager is always available to talk to us and dad and we are able to drop in and see dad when ever we want to.
Dads safety is paramount to us and Blenheim is providing a safe environment whilst ensuing
that dad spends his time there with meaning.
The social activities are fantastic and everyone is encouraged to join in. Its great to see dad playing games and chatting with other residents.

I am really satisfied with the support and care my father in law receives at Blenheim House. He is always clean and happy and the staff are always familiar with how he is and what he likes . When we visit we are looked after too and no one rushes you when you have any questions or concerns . His room
is always clean and tidy too and he is always helped with mobility .All staff have untold patience and kindness which is fantastic as they are obviously great at their jobs . The management are the same and again make you feel like nothing is too much trouble .
Thanks to everyone who works there and be assured you are appreciated .

The feeling when you are welcomed into Blenheim by the staff is it feels like a family and you are welcomed as part of it. The staff are very patient loving and kind and this translates in the peace and tranquility I see in my mum. I can feel my mum is well cared for when I see her with staff, and enter
her room as it is always clean and tidy and my mum is always looking her best. Staff are always responsive to any concerns I might have and I feel we are working together in the care of my mum.
It is a great comfort to me to know that my mum is looked after by such a great team.

Always feel welcome as visitors. My stepmum visits 3/4 times a weeks and cannot speak highly enough of the support staff give to Dad, especially with eating.
We are impressed with all activities on offer. All staff are so helpful and polite. I'm sad my dad is in a home, but I feel at ease knowing he's
receiving expert care. Thank you!

Our dad has been at Blenheim Care Home for 14 months and we are very happy with the care he receives.
The staff are friendly, helpful, supportive and welcoming to both my dad, myself and sister.
He has settled well and clearly looked after very well. Nothing is too much trouble for dad's care.
His private room is large and kept very clean, as is the home itself.
Food is of a good quality and overall he is very happy there.

Mum happy.
She is engaged by the various activities arranged. Recently this included flower- arranging.
She is cared for like a member of the family. Eg getting grippy socks to help with movement.
Mum's room was particularly clean when I dropped in at short notice.

I can't fault Blenheim House.
All the essential and important things are here: a perceptive manager, a caring and positive team of carers and a safe and clean environment.
Members of the team appreciate each resident as an individual, take the trouble to get to know them and care for them with dignity
and respect.
Visitors are welcomed and made to feel part of the 'family'
I have huge admiration for these dedicated professionals.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.641)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.641) out of 10 for Blenheim House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 33 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 33 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.641 for Blenheim House is calculated as follows: ( (272 Excellents x 5) + (80 Goods x 4) + (18 Satisfactorys x 3) + (5 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 376 Ratings = 4.641
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Blenheim House is based on 33 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 57 registered maximum number of service users is 11.4, which has been reached with 33 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Registered Manager Joined: 2011

I have been a member of the team at Blenheim House since 2011, I started as a care assistant which I really loved. I've always enjoyed being hands on with the residents. I then moved into the administration department. This gave me a great experience and knowledge of the accounting system. I then took on the role as deputy manager. This was in preparation of becoming the manager. I became the manager in April 2024. I love the fact that I have progressed through the ranks in the care home that I regard as my home. I have recently completed my NVQ level 5 with a distinction. I am very proud and honoured to have been given the opportunity to manage Blenheim House and hope that I can bring all my experiences together now to create a positive and well managed home for my residents and staff.
