Blenheim House Care Home team provided end-of-life care for my dad earlier in the year and now have been caring for my mum for the past couple of months. Mum keeps saying how lovely the home is, how good the food is and how nice the food is, so if she is happy then this is a good indicator. Not an easy
situation for her, us or carers, but in the grand scale of things is working really well in a situation none of us would wish to be in. Staff and management are always fabulous on the phone and very caring/empathetic/welcoming and have a great sense of humour when needed!

Generally very good. Meals look good with good-sized portions. The home is always clean. Mum would like to get out a bit more from the home, even if she’s walked to the seafront or to the shop. Sometimes she asks for pain relief but doesn’t get it as the staff are busy and forget.

My brother-in-law has been in Blenheim House for 5 years now and it was a problem to get him settled. It took a while but he is now content and the staff look after him well even though he can be demanding. The management team always contact me if anything is wrong or needs attending to.

My nan has been at Blenheim House Care Home since Christmas 2022 as she could no longer love at home alone. The staff at Blenheim give Nan the care she needs and she is happy at the home. She is always very complimentary about the staff that care for her.

My mother has been at the home for three years and her dementia has got worse, although no fault of the home. She has been comfortable and well cared for during her stay. The staff have always gone out of their way to make my visits welcoming and informed.

We cannot fault the care that Dad receives. The staff are always accommodating and welcoming to us and keep us well informed of any changes in Dad's health quickly. The management are outstanding and the staff are amazing!

We have been very pleased with the care our mum has received since coming into the home in May. Mum has advanced dementia and needs a lot of reassuring. The staff are very attentive and very helpful. The atmosphere is very homely and friendly which is a reflection of the staff. We are kept informed
of any events, i.e. Mum had a fall.
When Dad was in as well, he could be aggressive and they handing him well.

Dad has been quite agitated at times because he has never been restricted. I fully understand why he is not able to leave the home unattended but I also understand his frustration. The staff have also been understanding in this and have managed to settle him.

My husband resided in Blenheim House Care Home for eight months and the care from staff was above and beyond.
Nothing was too much trouble. They helped me to sort out and source aspects of care needs that he required.
I was extremely happy with his care.

My experience here was fantastic, every member of staff was kind and considerate and couldn't do enough for me. I was so pleased to hear that they had people for respite. I will certainly be coming back. I could find no fault in anyone or anything.

The manager of this home I feel goes above and beyond to ensure the residents come first.
Whenever we visit everything is not only so clean but also homely. I know that my mum is getting exceptional care in the home and I don't have to be stressed about her.

I think it's common knowledge that Blenheim House had some managerial problems in the past and that the home wasn't running in the manner that we all expected but then, the new manager appeared!
Since her arrival and her staff rallying to her leadership, the home is now exemplary and I would have no
qualms of recommending it to anyone who had loved ones in need of care.

Mum was admitted to Blenheim House unable to walk and very poor appetite, with the help and encouragement of the staff Mum soon flourished. I found the staff at all times treated Mum as though she was the only resident. Nothing was too much trouble. The love and attention they showed Mum was beyond
anything we could have wished for. Mum loved both the staff and the home, she always said home good the food was, always cooked from fresh. At Mum's death, all the staff showed great compassion and dignity for both Mum and me and my husband, we were by Mum's side as she passed away. The staff always made us feel very welcome when we visited Mum. We both said if in later life we had to go into a home we would hope it's like Blenheim. A big thank you to all the staff.

Job Title: Registered Manager Joined: 2011

I have been a member of the team at Blenheim House since 2011, I started as a care assistant which I really loved. I've always enjoyed being hands on with the residents. I then moved into the administration department. This gave me a great experience and knowledge of the accounting system. I then took on the role as deputy manager. This was in preparation of becoming the manager. I became the manager in April 2024. I love the fact that I have progressed through the ranks in the care home that I regard as my home. I have recently completed my NVQ level 5 with a distinction. I am very proud and honoured to have been given the opportunity to manage Blenheim House and hope that I can bring all my experiences together now to create a positive and well managed home for my residents and staff.
