My MIL has been a resident at Blenheim now for nearly 2 years. In that time she has been very well
looked after and has a great relationship with all the staff. She enjoys the entertainment put on as well as having her hair done and nails painted.
We would like to highlight the manager Lynsey. Her
leadership and dedication to her job and the residents is something not seen so much anymore. She is on the ball and has always been incredibly helpful to us.

Dad has been at Blenheim House for over 2 years now and he settled quickly making friends with staff and residents. Lyndsey runs a tight ship and nothing is too much trouble. I feel that if we have any concerns I can bring them up and they are listened to and resolved, if necessary, almost immediately.

All the staff are like family and the care they give to dad and us as a family is supportive, caring, and basically like they are one of our family.
My mum was in another local care home and not doing very well, she felt isolated and wasn't eating as she didn't like the food. My sister and I moved mum into Blenheim House in January 2026 and WOW! She is thriving! She has put on weight, has company with the other residents and has come out of her shell.
The food is of a high standard and both parents enjoy their meals.
I have no hesitation in recommending Blenheim House, the care is second to none. They have and are continuing to make lots of improvements inside and outside.

Clear not just a home but a community. Staff took time to get to know him. Compassion shown in last days was second to none. He was always treated with dignity and made comfortable. We felt supported as a family knowing he was in good hands. Staff are patient, professional and show humanity to those
in care. The home feels like a home, not clinical, and is fresh, well maintained and warm and welcoming. The staff team are the heart of this home and helped turn my fathers difficult journey into a peaceful one.

I have been visiting my father in law at Blenheim House for a few weeks since hospital discharge. The experience has been nothing but positive. Staff are kind, patient and attentive. Mobility issues, dementia care and medical needs have been met with professionalism and true care. The home is clean,
welcoming and well maintained. My father in law was shown kindness, compassion and dignity before he passed so grateful to Lyndsey and her team for the warmth shown in his care.

We visited my dad on Christmas Day and found him happy and pleased to see us. He seemed content in the home and happy to see all the staff. They are all very good to him and he reacts well to them. The home is always clean and welcoming, the staff always ensure we have an area to sit with him and provide
tea/coffee for us and him. Feel very happy and safe for him in the home. Great bunch of staff there.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.716)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.716) out of 10 for Blenheim House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 33 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 33 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.716 for Blenheim House is calculated as follows: ( (294 Excellents x 5) + (69 Goods x 4) + (13 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 380 Ratings = 4.716
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Blenheim House is based on 33 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 57 registered maximum number of service users is 11.4, which has been reached with 33 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Registered Manager Joined: 2011

My name is Lynsey, and I have been part of the Blenheim Care Home family since 2011. I began my journey as a Night Healthcare Assistant before progressing into an Administration role, then Deputy Manager, and finally becoming Home Manager in April 2024.

Throughout my career, I have been committed to developing my knowledge and skills, and I am proud to have achieved my Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care. Having worked my way through each stage of the home, I have developed a deep understanding of the needs of our residents, their families, and our dedicated team.

I feel incredibly privileged to have been given the opportunity to lead a home that has been such an important part of my life for so many years. Blenheim has always felt like home to me, and I truly believe I am the right person to lead the team because I understand the home, its values, and the people who make it so special.

I am passionate about maintaining a warm, caring, and supportive environment where residents can feel safe, respected, and valued.
