The Corner House is a family run Care Home (since 1999), situated close to the Sea Front. They welcome you to come and visit the home which boasts beautifully decorated en suite rooms, and spacious landscaped gardens. The Corner House received an 'Outstanding' CQC rating in the 'Well-led' category (July 2018).

During lockdown times, the gardens have been used by families and friends to have much-needed meetups. The weather has enabled precious moments between loved ones.
The home has a Gazebo which provides shelter and creates an outside room. The garden also has a cafe and ice cream booth for long, hot summer days.

The highly trained staff offer warm and friendly care, whilst supported by CCTV for the comfort of family and residents alike.

The care home has a long history of providing excellent care, demonstrated by the many awards (2016-2018) including:

A lovely cinema lounge with internet facilities aims to maximise choice and independence. Film afternoons with popcorn are a favourite!

Bedrooms are tastefully decorated each with telephone & television points and state of the art call bells.

In 2019/20, the care home was refurbished to include a bar (Temple Bar), retro lounge and a shop for the wellbeing of residents.

Meals are carefully designed with nutrition and variety in mind including special menus.

They are a family run home, which encourages relatives and friends of residents to be partners in care, to be as involved as much as they or their loved one choose. The team actively encourage relatives to join residents at mealtimes and attend activities. Speaking as a former nurse, I am pleased to say that I am more than satisfied with the overall standards and quality of care I have received. I have no worries in asking for future details of care procedures when/if I need them. I am more than satisfied that the quality of care here is "pretty good"!

Before my uncle moved into Corner House Care Home, my wife and I looked at three other care homes in the local area. Corner House stood out from the rest. My uncle went in for three weeks respite, to see if he liked it. He made his mind up in less than a week and decided not to return home. The times
that stood out to us in selecting Corner House were - The care home manager gave us confidence. The home is continually being improved. We observed staff working with residents in a warm and respectful way. My uncle enjoys the food they serve. I highly recommend this care home. We feel confident that our uncle is getting the best possible care in his twilight years.

My Mum lived in The Corner House for over two years before she passed away from late-stage dementia in November 2020. I live overseas, and in all the time Mum was a resident (and since), the staff and management were beyond expectations. Pre and during Covid, they were amazing and looked after Mum with
the utmost care, respect and love that was way beyond their roles. Towards the end, and my inability to visit Mum due to Covid, they did everything possible to ensure Mum's end was as comfortable as possible and that I was involved in every step of the way. They encouraged me to video WhatsApp several times a day, and Mum was never on her own, and she always still looked beautiful, peaceful and so well cared for. After Mum passed, they kept in touch with me (and still do) and helped me manage all arrangements from afar. Despite the massive sadness of losing my mum and not being able to be with her, I will be forever grateful for the amazing angels at The Corner House.

My dad has been here for 1 year and hs settled in well. During Covid-19 it has been very difficult especially for visiting but they have done extremely well with organising very safe visits in the garden. Hopefully, by next year things will be better for all.

Although we are not allowed to visit Mum inside the home, every effort has been made to allow me to visit once a week. Her care and welfare seem to be good.

My mother was a resident in The Corner House care home in Clacton-on-Sea for approximately 3 1/2 years. She was extremely well cared for by the dedicated team of staff, who attended to her individual needs. I always found everyone approachable and had time to discuss any issue that may arise. There
was a wide range of activities organised to suit all residents, my mother enjoying the musical events. During her final weeks, she was made as comfortable as possible, being treated with dignity and respect. It gave us all a great peace of mind to know that Mum was being kept safe and happy.

My uncle was quite poorly and lonely when he entered the care home, within a few weeks the change in him was remarkable. We were always welcomed into the home on visits and special occasions, the Christmas party was amazing, plenty to eat and drink and always an entertainer and very often reindeers
and donkeys. The residents loved it, lots of laughter always. The food is exceptional, it’s like eating in a restaurant.
The staff are so dedicated! They work so hard, I wouldn’t hesitate to go into the home; it’s smashing.

I have been a volunteer to the home for a few years. I have found staff and management very friendly and caring. My husband has spent two weeks in the home as a respite resident and was impressed with the care he had. Recently, I have been administering communion to the residents and some staff and
I have found the activity coordinator to be most helpful and polite, also other care staff.

Excellent initiative by the manager that residents now have a regular one to one with a support staff member, with feedback being given to the next of kin (thank you). This combined with the recent opportunity of a video call with my mother has helped to reassure me that Mum is content and well during
these surreal times which we find ourselves in. This is most appreciated due to the current lockdown situation. Hopefully, the doors of Corner House will be open again to us all soon.

The school where I work has a lot of dealings with the care home. I helped out at last years summer fete and was made so welcome. Staff are amazing and do so much entertainment for the residents to make them happy. I would recommend this care home to anyones relative, as they would be very happy here.
Children from our school always love to visit.
Well done to all the staff for everything they do for the residents.
