The Corner House Residential Care Home is a warm, welcoming 55?bed home set within beautiful landscaped gardens and just a short walk from the Clacton?on?Sea seafront, offering residents both tranquillity and easy access to the local community. Spread across two well?designed floors, the home provides a range of accommodation options, including ground?floor rooms with patio doors opening directly onto the gardens and spacious first?floor rooms ideal for couples or anyone who prefers a larger living space. The home takes great pride in its home?cooked meals, with hearty dishes, homemade desserts, and a focus on quality, comforting food that feels truly personal. A rich programme of daily activities ensures that individual interests are celebrated - from live music, quizzes, and games to arts and crafts, gardening through the home’s own community garden club, and many more opportunities for creativity and connection. For residents who enjoy getting out and about, the home offers community outings including visits to the Salvation Army, local churches, and gentle walks to seafront cafés, and each summer a beach hut is reserved so residents can relax by the sea in comfort. The Corner House is also proud to be accredited by St Helena’s Hospice, recognising the high standard of compassionate, person?centred care provided to every resident.

The home has a very good reputation in the local area of Clacton on Sea. The residents and staff team have made lasting connections with the local community who regularly visit and contribute to an inclusive environment. Our home has beautiful gardens, we have a number of ground floor rooms that lead out directly into the gardens. We do have a few large rooms on our first floor, which are suitable for married couples to share, or for those who require more space. Our pre-admission process will determine the needs of a individual and this will then detail the fee we charge. Some rooms have a higher price, for example for garden rooms and larger rooms.

All the carers were very helpful, supportive and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble either day or night. The quality, presentation and choice of food was excellent and homemade. My room was very clean, light and comfortable. Well equipped and with an en-suite toilet and hand basin. The communal
rooms are very comfortable and beautiful gardens outside. I really enjoyed the recreational activities and entertainment. We had garden games and trips out for visits. I would definitely recommend The Corner House for respite or long-term care.

Care staff could not be more helpful. Nothing is too much trouble to them. I am a large person who has to be hoisted into by bed or wheelchair as I cannot weight bare. I have enjoyed my week of respite care and look forward to my next stay. I'm sure my husband has enjoyed having some time to himself
and not having to cater for me. Food is delicious, my compliments to the chef. Surroundings are beautiful and I have enjoyed sitting out in them.

I have been looked after in hygiene and the food is excellent. The laundry is very good. Activitities are very good but not been fit or able to join in many of them. Sometimes noisy at night time with buzzers being continuous. I have met some lovely people, staff and residents.

Mum has been at The Corner House for two weeks, and it is a special place. The care and attention she receives is outstanding. The family feel that Mum is treated with love and respect from all the staff, and Mum is very happy here. The staff go above and beyond to make each day a happy one. The activities
and facilities are excellent. We honestly couldn't ask for more.

Mum has just completed her first 12 months in the home and overall it's been a very positive experience. They have gone out of their way to ensure she feels happy and comfortable in her new surroundings. She recently changed rooms which has made a world of difference to her as she now sees more people.
The staff are very attentive and ensure we are always kept up to date with any issues or concerns and they are always happy to take on board and action anything we raise. It's never easy taking those first steps but the transition was made much easier by the staff. Taking care of Mum is important to us as a family and we now know she is safe and well looked after which in turn gives us peace of mind.

The home is beautifully maintained, bright and luxurious. Staff are friendly and attentive. Manager is always available for a chat with any concerns. Dining room, 'home-from-home', always nicely laid out for the residents. Rooms and common areas are always spotless. Entertainment coordinator always
has lots of activities planned and at Christmas time there was so much for the residents to enjoy. A wonderful, magical time for them all!

The home has some excellent people taking care of my father. They try their best at all times to meet his needs. Activities/medicine delivery/cleanliness/staff are all excellent.
The maintenance staff are excellent.
Cost is expensive.

My father has been in The Corner House for a few months and is very settled. The staff treat him with care and respect. If I have any concerns, they are addressed very promptly. The food is very good. Activities are offered every day (mornings and afternoons). Any medical issues are managed and addressed
quickly. The staff are very friendly and try to include all residents in events etc. But they also take time to talk to the residents.

Have had three previous respite stays before the current, permanent change. Very pleased every time with the service provided. The vast majority of staff are very caring, helpful and patient with my needs. Would recommend this home to others thinking about a care home.
