The Corner House is a family run Care Home (since 1999), situated close to the Sea Front. They welcome you to come and visit the home which boasts beautifully decorated en suite rooms, and spacious landscaped gardens. The Corner House received an 'Outstanding' CQC rating in the 'Well-led' category (July 2018).

During lockdown times, the gardens have been used by families and friends to have much-needed meetups. The weather has enabled precious moments between loved ones.
The home has a Gazebo which provides shelter and creates an outside room. The garden also has a cafe and ice cream booth for long, hot summer days.

The highly trained staff offer warm and friendly care, whilst supported by CCTV for the comfort of family and residents alike.

The care home has a long history of providing excellent care, demonstrated by the many awards (2016-2018) including:

A lovely cinema lounge with internet facilities aims to maximise choice and independence. Film afternoons with popcorn are a favourite!

Bedrooms are tastefully decorated each with telephone & television points and state of the art call bells.

In 2019/20, the care home was refurbished to include a bar (Temple Bar), retro lounge and a shop for the wellbeing of residents.

Meals are carefully designed with nutrition and variety in mind including special menus.

I have no complaints except sometimes it takes ten minutes to get the door answered. I have had cause to phone to get the door answered.

My mother was a resident in The Corner House care home in Clacton-on-Sea for approximately 3 1/2 years. She was extremely well cared for by the dedicated team of staff, who attended to her individual needs. I always found everyone approachable and had time to discuss any issue that may arise. There
was a wide range of activities organised to suit all residents, my mother enjoying the musical events. During her final weeks, she was made as comfortable as possible, being treated with dignity and respect. It gave us all a great peace of mind to know that Mum was being kept safe and happy.

My uncle was quite poorly and lonely when he entered the care home, within a few weeks the change in him was remarkable. We were always welcomed into the home on visits and special occasions, the Christmas party was amazing, plenty to eat and drink and always an entertainer and very often reindeers
and donkeys. The residents loved it, lots of laughter always. The food is exceptional, it’s like eating in a restaurant.
The staff are so dedicated! They work so hard, I wouldn’t hesitate to go into the home; it’s smashing.

I have been a volunteer to the home for a few years. I have found staff and management very friendly and caring. My husband has spent two weeks in the home as a respite resident and was impressed with the care he had. Recently, I have been administering communion to the residents and some staff and

Excellent initiative by the manager that residents now have a regular one to one with a support staff member, with feedback being given to the next of kin (thank you). This combined with the recent opportunity of a video call with my mother has helped to reassure me that Mum is content and well during
these surreal times which we find ourselves in. This is most appreciated due to the current lockdown situation. Hopefully, the doors of Corner House will be open again to us all soon.

The school where I work has a lot of dealings with the care home. I helped out at last years summer fete and was made so welcome. Staff are amazing and do so much entertainment for the residents to make them happy. I would recommend this care home to anyones relative, as they would be very happy here.
Children from our school always love to visit.

My dad came to Corner House back in November and his care has been exceptional. All the staff from senior to kitchen staff are very friendly and very helpful, nothing is too much trouble. I can only thank them for their hard work and effort.
