Mum has always received excellent care at Eastham and during these difficult times, it has been very comforting to receive regular updates including videos and photos of activities at the home. Everyone looks very well and happy thanks to the wonderful staff there.

Mum is very happy, which to me is everything. When we take her out she wants to go home - to Easthams so she is very settled. It's nice and small resident wise, but big enough to have social groups of their choice. They have been so, so careful during the virus, to keep everyone safe. We get videos
and pictures of everyone to keep in contact and we can have video phone calls which is great. They have all worked very hard, putting their own lives on hold to make all the residents safe. Thank you all so much for all you have done.

My mother went into Eastham four weeks ago under lockdown she was isolated for a week and has settled in very well, the staff are very attentive to her and the video of them all enjoying themselves on VE Day was great. I have not been in this very small care home but I think my mother has landed on
her feet I speak to the manager weekly during lockdown and she assures me that my mother is settling in well, which is confirmed when I speak to my mother. I have yet to be allowed into the home but when lockdown ends I will visit. Well done to all the staff at this very trying time.

A very safe, caring environment for my mother. My mum loves the food! The home is well managed, and the staff are great with all the residents.

I rang and enquired about the availability of a room for my elderly mother.
I also enquired about the level of care that my mother would receive and my access to her. I spoke with the deputy manager; she was professional, warm and very informative. I asked about the current COVID situation, and I was
impressed with the deterrents and steps being taken to avoid any infection, both within the home and any visiting element. I was offered details of a room, what facilities were available. The menu choices were explained to me, and I was very pleased that diabetic options were catered for.
It was explained that due to COVID, restrictions a virtual tour could be offered, due to being unable to access the home. This made me very happy and confirmed that proper processes are in place for COVID.
The lady on the phone also told me about the activities on a normal routine and even sent me an email containing photos of the last visiting entertainment act. Amazing service.

I am the granddaughter of a resident at Eastham and I can't rate them enough.
They have gone above and beyond to keep my whole family in contact with my nan during this challenging time and my nan has always said she is happy and feels safe.
The care they have given her since she moved in (December
19) has been outstanding. We do not worry for her safety anymore and know she is in the best place to be cared for.

The staff at Eastham showed great kindness and professionalism, caring for my mother-in-law, for the last 4 and a half years of her life. They treated her with dignity and respect and cared for her throughout, with great concern. She was able to pass away peacefully in familiar surroundings, from a
chest infection, supported by attentive staff and we have no hesitation in recommending Eastham to other service users.

As a family (3) daughters we are more than pleased with the friendliness, caring and dedication to our mum.
They have plenty of things for the ladies and gentlemen in the home to join in with if they so wish. The food and nutrition are to a high standard.
Cleanliness is one of the most important issues
we have had in precious homes and feel that this home meets its standard of being very clean and no nasty smells when you enter the front door.

This care home has a calm and welcoming atmosphere. Our aunt seems very happy here and over the six months she has been here we have seen a huge change in her wellbeing (for the better of course).

Eastham is a brilliant residential care home. Extremely well run and managed by its manager along with her excellent team of carers.
Nothing is too much trouble for any of them as they will always help you and listen to you in any aspect of your relative's care and well-being. Always a very friendly

My Aunt has been a resident for a year now, the change in her is heartwarming to see, she has started to re-engage with daily life again, clearly feeling happy and safe living here, she continues to blossom since moving here and always has a smile and laugh for everyone. She very clearly has developed
good rapport and trust in her staff team, who have gone above and beyond to make her feel comfortable, valued and happy.
I cannot imagine how much this means to her husband (my uncle) who recently himself received a birthday card from her which she had signed herself!
The team at Eastham work in such an open person-centred way and whenever I have visited there is always a lovely transparent welcoming atmosphere which as a manager of a home myself I know is something of huge importance to family members and visitors alike. Despite being a large home supporting people with very complex needs they have kept a family feel and staff always have a smile and welcoming word.

My journey with Runwood Homes spans 13 years, starting as a carer here at Eastham. Through dedication and passion, I've risen to the position of Home Manager. As a registered social worker, I also bring a unique perspective to our residents' holistic well-being.
