My mother went into the care home and has become part of the family. My sister and myself are so happy for her. In every way, her health and her well-being have improved 100%. All the staff are so helpful, always available to help if required. I would recommend this care home to friends who have parents that need to go into a care home. Excellent service from all.

Dad is being looked after so well, he is so happy and settled. We have been constantly kept up-to-date on Dad's health and well-being. The home is so clean and has lots of activities going on at all times. The dementia care team have been amazing in giving Dad the 24-hour care that he now needs. Nothing is too much trouble and it’s such a relief knowing Dad is happy and being looked after so well. Highly recommend Evelyn May.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, my friend had to find alternative accommodation. The staff at Evelyn May were very helpful in assisting our friend when she went into the home. She has been very well looked after since.

Our friend has only been in Evelyn May House for two and a half months, but we have noticed an improvement already. She is clean and well-fed. She has had her hair done and is always in the communal lounge with a cup of tea and a chat.

My dad has been a resident at Evelyn May House for 18-months. Of Course, Covid affected us all, so it was very hard not being able to see him often. I'm now an essential carer, and it's wonderful for us both. Being involved every day and seeing how much everyone who works there cares and supports residents is amazing, and as a family, we thank them from the bottom of our hearts.

Hello Debbie, we are so thankful to hear you continue to be satisfied with your father's care, even in the toughest circumstances brought on by the pandemic. Thank you for the brilliant review.

Mum moved into Evelyn May in April and is the happiest I have seen her in years. The staff are lovely and caring. Nothing is too much trouble. Mum has been a very fussy eater, but since moving to Evelyn May, she eats everything put in front of her.

She has her old sparkle back. Thank you.

Found the staff to be caring and very knowledgeable of my mum’s dementia. This eases my concern with her sometimes erratic behaviour. In these difficult times, I telephone every day to see how mum’s doing and they let me talk to her when it’s possible. They are always friendly and helpful and answer any concerns I may have. Well done everyone.

All the staff have been really helpful and supportive in these difficult times. They have sat with Dad and explained what is going on and why I haven't been able to visit him as I used to. The staff have ensured he is happy and have spent time setting up face time for him and the family. They have always been on hand to offer help and reassurance. Dad is encouraged to go into the lounge to sit with other residents and have lunch but retires to his room when he wants to relax. Thank you for everything you do.

My Mum was admitted to Evelyn May at the end of January. Mum has dementia and unfortunately, my dad can no longer care for her needs at home - with the ongoing pandemic we were extremely reluctant and had many reservations regarding admitting her into a residential care home. Evelyn May was offered to us so I arranged a virtual tour and I was extremely impressed. Once a date was arranged we dropped off all Mum's belongings the evening before her arrival and the lovely girls set up Mum's room so that it was all ready for when she walked in. Mum arrived and was instantly made to feel wanted - we had to leave her at the door of Evelyn May (due to Covid) which was heartbreaking but we were able to facetime her later that day and she was settled in her room with plenty of company - all the girls made her feel welcome. Nothing has been too much trouble for Mum or for any of us (her family), we facetime her daily. The care and commitment from Evelyn May has been wonderful.

Mum has always received the best of care from everyone at Evelyn May House even during these really hard times when they have been short of staff due to the virus. We are so pleased that she’s been under their care, they keep us well informed about Mum and make arrangements for us to see her on Facebook; we never feel that we are putting the staff to too much trouble. Thank you for looking after our wonderful mum, we know she loves you all so much.

Late last year our mum was admitted to Evelyn May house, sadly we lost her recently. During the entirety of her stay, we always found the level of care from the manager and her team both professional and extremely helpful. We would like to extend our gratitude for making the last few months of her life and ours more comfortable.

In general and having experience of three other care homes, I would describe Evelyn May as well run. Staff on the whole are caring and considerate of the needs of the residents. Areas for improvement include improved kitchenette areas and greater access for residents to outside spaces on a regular basis. With regard to COVID-19, I commend all their efforts to keep everyone safe. In this respect, they have been outstanding.

As a family, we would just like to give some positive feedback to the staff and management teams of the Evelyn May House care home. My mother has been a resident in the care home for some two years now and has settled in beautifully. The staff are amazing, polite, courteous, always willing to listen to our concerns, enough so that you do actually build up a very good relationship with them. Recently with the current situation Cov-19, they have gone above and beyond to start allowing us, the relatives, a chance to engage with our loved ones. This may only seem a small gesture but to be able to sit opposite ends of a table in the garden is truly fantastic and believe me quite emotional too for all visiting. The staff ensure all distance measures along with sanitisation is all adhered too to help protect all concerned. It's really important for us as families to know that all the staff are in tune with the residents and families alike too, which at Evelyn May they are, thank you all.

The staff at Evelyn May have been working under considerable pressure during this pandemic. I cannot thank them enough for the care and commitment during this time and also before covid-19 appeared. Mum is well cared for, and I do not have to worry about her wellbeing as she seems very content. Thank you, Evelyn May House.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home. The staff are amazing, so caring and look after the residents so well with a cheerful and friendly attitude. They deal with any queries promptly and nothing is too much trouble. Meals are healthy and well cooked. Rooms are pleasant and kept clean. Residents are able to bring their own possessions to make the room more personal.
