The manager and her staff do a great job at Evelyn May care home. When my father first went into residential care he was fiercely independent and still used to go out, however, following a few falls he deteriorated quickly and became bedridden, with person-centred care the staff supported my Dad with the transition and he now relies on the carers to fully care for him. They support his wellbeing by taking time to listen to him, sing to him which I know he really appreciates. I know my Dad found it difficult having to rely on carers for his every need, but the staff have supported him with dignity and this has eased his frustrations. During this period of Covid 19, I have not seen my Dad however I know I can rely on the staff to take care of him when I call for updates the staff are always polite and helpful.
Evelyn May carers have looked after mum so well over the last few years but in the recent pandemic, they have gone above and beyond for both mum and us. I have been able to make face to face contact with mum via technology - which has been wonderful. My almost daily phonecalls are informative and...
Thank you all so much.
My mum is very much cared for, in all aspects of her needs. Her family and my siblings are kept up to date with everything that goes on in relation to her. I feel very much connected with the home and Mum's care. We are contacted as and when/if there is anything to discuss. When we visit, we are...
My mum is very much cared for, in all aspects of her needs. Her family and my siblings are kept up to date with everything that goes on in relation to her. I feel very much connected with the home and Mum's care. We are contacted as and when/if there is anything to discuss. When we visit, we are informed about how Mum has been and her general well being. It is clearly evident that those taking care of Mum are fond of her and respect her needs and wants. This gives us great peace of mind.
The care home generally maintains a home from home environment, which is beneficial for residents and especially their visitors. The staff work with professional understanding and knowledge providers and their reaction with residents are neighbourly rather than authoritarian.

The individual care and affection has been so appreciated and has made my dad's dementia far easier to cope with. On Sunday, we went to an organised barbecue, it was a superb afternoon and once again saw so much care and attention given. The caring given by the staff to my stepfather really needs to be seen to be believed.
Love from an appreciative son at a tough time.
Special thanks to the manager and co for getting my mother-in-law to an x-ray urgently when we couldn't. And very special grateful thanks to the lady who gave up her day off to accompany her to hospital for a blood transfusion today.

My mother has settled in very well and seems happy here. The staff have been very friendly and I can talk to them about any problems I have and it gets sorted straight away. The food is lovely and cooked on the premises, Mum seems to be gaining a bit more weight which is good.

The rooms are lovely and spacious, plenty of room for manoeuvring a wheelchair etc. Kept clean and always tidy.

During his time at Evelyn May House, I found the staff, carers and cleaners to be professional, caring, understanding and always treated my dad with dignity and respect. I would not have wanted dad to be cared for anywhere else. The staff were approachable and always kept me informed, they were always welcoming when I visited dad.
The home had a vibrant and healthy atmosphere, the residents seemed happy and well cared for. All in all, I had a very nice experience. If I should ever need this kind of assistance I think I would be very happy here. Not sure if there's enough activities. 1st visit though.
