A lovely friendly home always greeted with a friendly face upon arrival. My mum is very well cared for, staff are approachable and happy to help if you have a query.

My mum has been in Evelyn May House for 6 years she is very happy and classes her carers as her direct family. This makes her feel safe in her environment and comfortable. I have had no complaints and would recommend this facility.

Some members of staff are particularly friendly and helpful. The place is always kept clean and looks inviting.
I am always concerned as to whether there is enough conversation and activities for residents which can make their day and stimulate.

My father has been a resident in Evelyn May since my mother was taken ill in October 2015. My mother passed away in December 2015 and since then my father has been a permanent resident. My father has settled well and is happy at Evelyn May. The staff, food, care support and staff are all excellent and
if I have any queries, the staff are always happy to assist.


My dad has a lovely room, with toilet and washing facilities and an excellent pressure mattress. He also has a pressure cushion for his comfortable chair. There is a resident hairdresser and a chiropodist visits weekly. Evelyn May is a well-run home and supports people and their families well.

I am pleased with the care and attention the carers give my sister. They were very prompt when my sister had a stroke, getting her to the hospital quickly, which is very important when someone has a stroke.
My sister has recovered very well. If I have any issues with the care, they address them.

Mum has been a resident at Evelyn May House since May 2015. Upon visiting, both myself and family are always welcomed and kept up to date with her health and general welfare by the staff. Nothing ever seems too much trouble. We try on odd occasions to visit as a group and it's great that a 'tea room'
is available where we can interact with Mum just as we used to at home around the kitchen table enjoying tea and cake. We can be a little noisy-sorry! Sadly now more often than not she does not join in, but it makes us happy to see her looking well fed from the excellent menus, fresh and in her chosen clothing. Some of the things that were sadly in decline before.
The foyer is always welcoming, with lists of upcoming activities. Always pleasantly fragranced, everywhere always feels cosy and clean, as is Mums room. Hair salon for those important treatments, great. Always a shampoo and set girl! Never easy to leave Mum after a visit, but we know she is safe and well cared for in Evelyn May House.

This home has such a positive energy about it, there is no doubt that the focus is on helping residents to live each day to the full, treating them with care and respect but also with friendship. It feels as though we have found the very best place to help dad feel safe and as happy as he can be at
this stage of his life. The voluntary staff that we met at a recent barbeque for family and friends are also great.

Evelyn May provided the best care for my mother during her stay until her
death in October. It is well run clean efficient and the staff are so caring.
We were always informed of any health issues and they were dealt with
immediately. I cannot praise them enough.
