My mother was in Frank Foster House for many years and received great care. The staff are excellent and committed to caring for the residents. They are hardworking and always ready to assist. They were fabulous with keeping me updated on my mother’s progress, appointments and dealings with other professionals.
The home is very clean, nicely decorated and free from hazards.
It has been an amazing journey with my mother in the home and being provided with the care she needed at such a high standard.
The manager of the home is warm, empathetic and available to listen to suggestions and works with you to ensure that the resident is happy, safe and well cared for.

Our mum was here for six months. The manager and her team were absolutely lovely, very approachable, if ever we were worried about anything they always tried to sort it out for us. The home always smelt fresh and was kept very clean. All of the staff were very caring with my mum and although she wanted
to still be in her own home, she was very fond of so many of them. Mum was a proud woman and would never have let anyone see her while she was getting washed but she needed help with that every day and her main carer, a very special young man, washed her, we could not believe Mum was so at ease with him. There were so many there that were lovely to our mum, often staying after their shifts had finished to look after her. Another carer, I will always thank you for looking after Mum like you did on her last day alive, even though we didn’t know that.
To the manager and your wonderful team, thank you, every single one of you who looked after our mum.

My wife has been a resident at Frank Foster House necessitated by advancing dementia since August 2023. She has received exemplary care for her physical, emotional and medical needs. Visitors are welcomed at any time. A particular facility is the café where my wife can entertain informally visitors
and family. The home is staffed by imaginative carers who exude confidence and friendship on every occasion. It appears that the home gives careful essential attention to the smallest details throughout, exhibited not least by the well-kept garden, the first thing seen by any visitor.

I highly recommend Frank Foster House, the professional, caring, smiling staff provide the residents with respect and dignity they deserve.
Frank Foster house is very clean, well maintained, and has a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
My mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s four years ago, we fought long
and hard to look after her ourselves as we didn’t want her to be in a cold and clinical care home environment. Frank Foster House is anything but cold and clinical, it truly is “the best of the best” with exceptional daily activities and weekly outings.
We feel very lucky that my mum will have an amazing time in her latter years at Frank Foster House.

As a family, we unfortunately had to make the very hard decision for my dad to go into a care home, he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s four years ago but now needed professional care. This was a very upsetting time for all of us but the manager at Frank Foster House Care Home and her amazing team made
this transition for my dad far less stressful and put us all at ease. The home, itself, is wonderful with lovely bedrooms, a restaurant, cafe, lounges, activity rooms, hairdressers, chiropodist, gardens and courtyard. The whole team are just fabulous and it’s very obvious they are passionate in their roles. My dad has settled in so well, taking part in daily activities, even having a dance! He’s made new friends and been on some brilliant trips out. I cannot praise everyone at the home enough for all they do for my dad and am so very grateful for their care and compassion. Thank you.

I would like to highlight to anyone seeking the perfect care home for their loved one, that their first consideration be Frank Foster House. It has an outstanding level of care, coupled with compassion and understanding, especially for those with Alzheimer’s/Dementia. They have an excellent daily programme
of stimulating activities, which are often enjoyed sat in the beautiful garden. Regular trips out, gives the residents the feel-good factor and keep them in touch with the life they previously enjoyed, before needing to be cared for. The well-respected Manager has a carefully selected and hardworking team. It is evident to all they are happy in their roles and delivering a high standard of care is their priority. My mum is so happy here now, after transferring from another home. Thank you Frank Foster House for keeping her safe, but more importantly making each day something for her to smile about again.

We would like to commend the excellent care provided by Frank Foster House to our much-loved mother, who sadly passed away on 26 January 2023. She was a resident at Frank Foster House from May 2021.
Right from the start we were pleased to see Mum take part in the daily activities and begin to make
close friendships with other residents. Above all, we were pleased with the quality of care from the care assistants and team leaders, and the close attention from the manager and deputy.
In particular, we would like to highlight the quite outstanding care and attention which Mum received in the last 4 months of her life. She was deemed to be in need of End of Life Care, and the close liaison with the primary care team and district nursing services together with the love and affection shown by the staff meant that Mum's needs were met every inch of the way as her physical and mental health deteriorated. Mum herself recognised her excellent care and frequently thanked the staff.

I just wanted to write and say how wonderful myself and my family think Frank Foster is. My mother who sadly passed away on Friday 28 October was in Frank Foster for the past 6 years. The home manager and all her staff there have been absolutely amazing caring and looking after my mum right up until
the end. All the staff were always so kind, thoughtful and caring towards my mum and we are eternally grateful. We have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Frank Foster as a care home to anyone.

My Mum has been at Frank Foster House for almost 2 years, she moved in during the pandemic and I really appreciate the support the management and staff gave to us all to help her to settle in as she has dementia, during lockdown the home enabled window/pod visits, telephone and videophone contact. Amazing
in such difficult times. I can now visit freely, she has a lovely room with access to a garden and we go out when she's happy too. I am kept fully informed of her health and whenever she has had a 'worry' the home work with us to quickly resolve. Staff are always so kind and caring, we feel very satisfied she is receiving excellent care.

Difficult to gain access at times. Having to wait outside for long periods.
We are informed many activities cancelled, which my family look forwards to ie bingo, nail painting, bowls. Clothing disappears/not returned.
Bathroom constantly smells and not clean. Fresh fruit not regularly available
we take as not offered daily. Due to weak teeth food options not available.

My aunt is in Frank Foster House. She is very happy here and well looked after. Staff are excellent. She feels very safe here, all her needs are met. She enjoys the activities, talking to other residents, and her clothes are always washed and ironed nicely. She enjoys the food and has put on weight
since she has been here. My aunt was in through lockdown, and we were updated with all guidelines.

We are more than satisfied with the care our Mother is receiving at Frank Foster House. The staff do an amazing job making it a happy, restful place for the residents. Nothing is ever too much trouble and if there are any issues they are dealt with in a professional, helpful way.


The home is scrupulously

clean and of a very high standard. Daily activities are arranged encouraging the residents to take part and socialise - although my Mum doesn’t participate she never feels lonely as the carers/staff are always popping in.


We are happy in the knowledge our Mum is being cared for 24/7 in a safe environment.

I found the home to be flexible for resident visits whilst remaining compliant to government

Our Mother has been a resident of Frank Foster House at Theydon Bois for around 7 months now.
My sister and I can not fault the care and attention that our Mother has received and we are very thankful that this home was found for Mum.
She has a lovely room with lots of attention. Hair Dresser, manicures
and plenty of conversation.
We even are able to take Mum over the Green at Theydon to The Queen Victoria Pub most Sundays for Lunch. The food in the home is great Mum is pleased with the level of quality and afternoon teas with cakes are a nice touch.
All in all my sister and I would say an excellent care home.

I am originally from Mauritius and I started my career in Social Care at Frank Foster House in 2006 as a housekeeper. I left Runwood to become a manager of some successful care homes that were rated outstanding and decided to come back as the manager.


In 2017, I won the National Dementia Care Award for Inspiring Leader and also in 2021, I received a British Citizen Award for volunteering work in the community.


I am very proud to be part of the Frank Foster House Family, and I was amazed at the incredible support I have received from my colleagues, residents, and relatives. I enjoy seeing the residents happy and well looked after, and I am proud to be able to lead the team in reaching an excellent standard of care.

I began my journey here 12 years ago as a Kitchen Assistant, and over the years I have been fortunate to grow within the team and develop my career in care. Today, I am proud to lead and support our care team while also championing best practice in dementia care.


I am deeply passionate about working with the elderly, and I find great purpose in making a positive difference to the lives of our residents. Frank Foster House is a very special place to me, and I am proud to be part of such a dedicated and caring team.

My name is Carlos, and I am the Deputy Manager at Frank Foster House.


Before moving into social care, I worked as a fireman and paramedic in Portugal. I also have over 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry, including working in luxury hotels, which gave me a strong foundation in customer care and service. For the past 9 years, I have been dedicated to the social care sector, supporting residents and leading teams to deliver high-quality care.


In my role, I am proud to be both a Veteran Champion and an Infection Control Champion, helping to ensure best practice and specialist support for our residents and staff.


Outside of work, I am passionate about horse riding and travelling, which give me energy, balance, and inspiration.
